Jamie's Journal (comments welcome please!)

Way to stick with the elliptical! You are really kicking up the exercise, great job!

Last week I was the same way with the fridge and pantry drive-bys. NOT a happy place to be in! You are doing good resisting - keep yourself busy! Hopefully the snack monster will leave you alone soon...

Hang in there! :flower:

Hi, Jamie! Great job on the elliptical! Geez, that is the hardest workout, isn't it? You should feel so great about doing that much. I bet you burned about 400 calories! Awesome job, kiddo!

Keep up the great work and have a wonderful evening!

Hi, Jamie! Sounds like you are doing really well w/the exercise and eating OP. Keep up the hard work! You are doing fantastic! :sunny:

Hi All!!!!

Wow this week has been a roller coaster. The company that I work for has offices all the over the east and the south so Rita is really hitting us hard. The corporate office is in Denver and we are really busy with everything. I have not had time to eat let alone get online to update my journal. Each night when I get home I tell my self that I want to sit down and do the computer. However I have not been getting home until after 8:30 each night this week. So I have a quick bite to eat, sit down and then the dogs want me!!!! So I am so sorry that I have not been able to post in others journals.
I am going to try and do that today

So we are still trying to plan Disneyland for December. I had to put that on hold since I have not had time to do anything but work. I am hoping that I don't have to work this weekend and I can take some time to figure it all out. I don't know if we are going to be able to go. Airfare is just crazy! We are looking at $632.00 round trip for the two of us. I mean I guess that is not all that bad, but it is! We are paying more for airfare than we are for the tickets and the hotel! I have been working with our DU travel agent, so hopefully she can get something pretty good!

I have been doing well with eating these last few days. I have been eating a little late, but I have something small. Nothing too big, as I don't have time to get anything worked off before I head to bed. I know that eating late is not the best thing in the world, but I have to eat. I should leave some little things at my desk just in case things like this happen!

As hard as it has been I am still getting up to do my exercise. When that alarm goes off I just want to throw it!!!! But I get up and then after I get moving I feel so much better.

Since I have not posted in a few days, I won't post everything that I ate...but I will tell you that I resisted peanut butter, chocolate chip and butterscotch cookies yesterday. And today our Controller brought is donuts and I have managed to stay away! I want one, but I am not giving in. Our SVP of legal is taking some of out to lunch today, so I know that I could do some damage there!!! We are going to a Cajun place and they have the best fried pickles!!!!! I love those things. The chicken is not bad either. I am just going to watch what I eat and make an effort to not eat so many of those darn pickles!!!!!

The furbaby is finally back to himself! I am so glad. We finished our medicine on Monday and that was a relief. Getting him to take that pill was terrible! He still has a little spot on his bum but I think that will go away shortly. He has not been interested in checking it out in a few days, so I don't think that it is bothering him much!

So I finally found another female that rides a sportbike! I was pretty happy about that. We met through my DH.....She wanted to go ride this evening, but I don't know what time I will get out of here tonight, so I can't go. Maybe tomorrow

Well I better go. I am going to try and update other journals.

To everyone in Rita's path, please be safe.

I almost forgot the best news of all!!!! I am back down to pre vacation weight. I did my weigh in this week and I was down another pound. Only 1, but hey I am taking it!

I dont think I am going to make my goal of 1100 minutes of exercise....although I am going to try very hard!

WOOHOOO!!!!!!! Congrats on being back to pre-vacation weight! :cool1: That didn't take long, did it?!?

Bravo for resisting the cookies and donuts. Those kind of things are the hardest to turn away... I'm sure you will do great at lunch. ::yes:: Set a limit to how many fried pickles you can have, and stick to it. You always do great when you eat out, you can do it!

Great job keeping up with the exercise even though you are so busy! And eating late is better than not eating at all, so don't worry about it. You'll get back on schedule when things calm down for you.

Have a great weekend and keep up your hard work!! :cheer2:

Have a happy & healthy day!
Mike :goodvibes

Sounds like you are doing great! (all things considering!!) I know what you mean about the airfare. We are travelling to S.C. for Thanksgiving and our tickets are $704.00 EACH. It's ridiculous, but SOOOO worth it!! Great job resisting the sweets. I haven't done that well over the past week!! You have inspired me to do better! Have a great weekend!! :flower:

Yeah to the puppy being better now!

Your doing awesome! Resisting a cookie and a doughnut? All in one day?!?! wow that takes some willpower. I would of caved on one of them. Keep it up!

Congrats on being pre-vacation weight! :cool1:
Stay strong and keep at it! your doing a-w-e-s-o-m-e :goodvibes

Hey Jamie!

Congrats on being back to your pre-trip weight! That is wonderful! :cheer2:

I hope that you are able to find some time this week for some rest and relaxation. It sounds like last week was a super busy week for you.

Glad to hear that your furbaby is feeling much better! :goodvibes :dog:

I'm sending you some :wizard: so that you find some great rates on airfare!

Take care and have a wonderful Monday! :flower:

Hi All!!!!

Well it seems that things are starting to calm down. I work for an oil and gas company and we have terminals throughout the south and east. So when the big hurricanes come through it messes things up for us. More this year than any other year. But now that Rita has left, things are starting to slow down!! Finally. I know that my team will still be pretty busy, but that is okay!

So this weekend was pretty good! We didn't go out to lunch on Friday as planned. Out SVP that was going to go was busy with Rita and all so we are going to go sometime this week! We, my DH and I did go out on Friday night. I had chicken strips and a few fries. Water to drink. I don't think that I did too bad. Saturday and Sunday were nice days to sit and relax. We were going to go on a ride, but we both were pretty tired and it was a bit chilly here.So we stayed home! It was nice to just not do anything! I love my motorcycle but sometimes I just want a break!

I met the other female rider this weekend though. She is fairly new to bikes, but she seems like she would be fun to ride with.We really hit it off this weekend. She wants to ride this weekend, but it all depends on the weather. Not sure what they are saying for this weekend. Not that I believe them anyway. Yesterday we were to have rain all day and it was only suppose to be in the 50's and well it ended up being sunny and in the 70's!

Well I am going to go....bed time!!! I will post how today went tomorrow at lunch!

Have a great evening and thanks WISHer's! You're the best!

YAY!!! You deserve some calm!!!
Glad to hear you are doing good!

How cool that you made a new friend who shares your hobby!! I need to get a hobby (one besides drinking and socializing...). I hope the weather cooperates so you can go riding together this weekend!

Any developments with your Dec Disney trip?

That's really neat you have a sport bike, Jamie . What kind?

My DS16 rides a Ninja and keeps trying to talk me into one. His is a 250. One of his gymnastics teammates mother has the 500 twin to his.

Sounds like you're off to a good week. At least there seem to be no hurricanes on the way!

Have a great week!

Hi Julie,

I started out on a Ninja 250 and then I moved up to a Honda 600 CBR4Fi
I love it!!!! My DH had been bugging me for 10 years every time spring came around that he wanted a bike and I always said no. Then last year I said yes. So he decided to get me a 250 too. I was not all that excited about it, but once I got on it and rode it, I loved it. Now I am ready to move some where I can ride it year round! Last year we didn't winterize the bikes, we still rode them in the winter when it was not raining or snowing. It was a little chilly, but that was okay!

Okay, so I was going to try and post yesterday at lunch and well that just didn't happen!!! So here I am!

This week has been pretty good. I have been having an issue with sweets. I can't stop craving them. We have a candy dish here at work and I have done so good with staying away but this week I walk by and I want to grab the whole dish and run....fast! I don't, but it is bad! So I try not to walk by it!

I didn't get my butt up to work out on Monday. I was so exhausted I just could not do it. I didn't even work out on Monday night. I just wanted to relax. Monday was the first time in a week that I got out of work at 5:00 (still later than normal). I didn't even cook dinner. But I did. Actually DH did, we BBQed! I did get my exercise in yesterday though. I got up and did 30 minutes on the weights and then I took the dogs for a walk last night. that was nice! I got up this morning and did 40 minutes on the ellipitcal. That felt really good! I don't think that I am going to make my goal this month. I skipped a few days of exercise because I was so tired. Not good. Oh well, I will try harder next month. I can't beat myself up for that.

Monday:

B at 5:30 2 waffles with little butter and syrup
S at 8:30 1 Nature Valley granola bar
L at 12:00 HC Manicotti (YUM!)
S at 3:00 1 Nature valley granola bar
D at 6:00 1 1/2 BBQ hot dog

Tuesday:

B at 5:30 2 slices of toast
S at 9:00 1 nature valley granola bar
L at 12:30 1 can HC soup with 5 saltine crackers
S skipped. Was not hungry
D at 7:00 3 slices of cheese pizza :guilty: Shouldn't have had that third piece

So overall it was okay. Not the best but that is what today is for. Starting over! The plan for today:

B 2 waffles with little syrup and butter (had this already)
S 1 nature valley granola bar
L turkey and cheese sandwich with 1/2 serving of gold fish
S 1 nature valley granola bar
D ???? Have no clue!

Well I will check in later. Have a great Wednesday everyone! Keep up the great work!

Wow resisting a whole dish of candy? You are doing so well! I would of been in the bathroom eating them by now. :goodvibes

Your plan looks great. Motorcycles, my mom will never let me ride one just cause it's dangerous. *hugs* Have a great day!

You are doing awesome! Don't worry about not making your goal this month - you were on vacation and you still got tons of exercise in! You can be proud of that!!!

You have such a positive attitude - the extra slice of cheese pizza is better than that candy dish!!! :goodvibes

You are doing great - glad to see those BBQ hot dogs back on your list! ;)

You are doing such a great job on food and exercise. Don't beat yourself up when you aren't perfect. And resisting the candy dish is awesome! Fortunately, our staff ate all the candy bars I bought for my secretary's candy dish, before I could even look at them with longing! ;) Am soooo glad they are gone, because I DEFINITELY do not have your willpower!!!

Keep up the great work! :cheer2:
