Jamie's Journal (comments welcome please!)

Hi Jamie!

You are doing a great job with food and exercise! Please don't worry too much about not making your exercise goal this month. You listened to your body when you were tired and that is part of the healthy living journey as well. :goodvibes

I hope you have a wonderful Friday! :sunny:

P.S. Any updates on Disneyland? ::MickeyMo

Hi! Don't you hate that candy dish??? There is soooo much junk at my work...truly unbelievable. Now that I'm not eating a lot of sugar/desserts, I find I hardly crave it. I was a sugar addict for sure. Now I'd much rather have a hamburger than ice cream. Keep going. It'll get easier.

Hi Jamie!!

Hope you are still resisting that candy dish!!! Anyway to put a dish of something healthier near it so you can grab something better for you, maybe some veggies that would hold up like baby carrots or grape tomatoes? Just a thought!

Keep up your great work on your exercise and eating! You are doing so well!!
Mike :goodvibes

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for the words of encouragement. That mean so much to me. I am really trying to get caught up on journals. Last week ended up not being the best. We had some huge family issues and then a gal at work lost her father so that put us down another person. So we all had to pick up the work and so that limited my time here. Sorry about that.

Things are going really well. I have managed to stay away from the candy dish! Thank goodness. Although I love butterfingers....that is really the only chocolate that I love. My boss decided to be evil and bring some in. I have resisted so far though! I am going to pretend that they are not there. The nice thing though is the candy jar is on someone's desk and she isn't putting the butterfingers in there!!! Yippie!!!!

So eating this weekend has be pretty good. I don't feel all that great, I have not been drinking as much water as I should. I know that is a big problem. Lately I have been wanting something with flavor but I can't handle the soda so I just have not had much to drink. That will change. I am going to get back on the water. I need it soooo much!

Well I didn't make any of the exercise goals for September, but I
am not going to beat myself up. I will do it this month. I know I will!!!

We have decided that we are not going to go to Disneyland this year. I was so excited, but the more that we think about it, the more it just does not seem like the right time to go. Most of the hotels are booked already so that tells me that there are going to be a lot of people there. Plus we would spend about the same amount to go to DL as we did for WDW. I would rather go back to WDW if that is the case. Maybe one year we will make it out for Christmas. I know that we are planning a trip to DL sometime before the 50th ends. We don't want to miss that! So we will see how things work out in the spring. Maybe when we can drive. It is a long drive, about 18 hours, we usually drive every other time, so I know it won't be a problem.

Well I am going to go and try to get caught up on some of your journals.

Thanks again and have a great night!!!

Hey Jamie!

Congrats on resisting the Butterfingers! They are yummy ones indeed!! :)
Good job on your eating too!! You will make your exercise goals next month, you can do it!!! :cheer2:

I hope that you have a happy & healthy night!
Mike :goodvibes

Sounds like you're doing well in the battle against sweets, Jamie!

Hope you have a great week!

Hi, Jamie! I hope today is going well for you! Congrats on using your willpower. You should be very proud of yourself.

Thanks for joining the October exercise challenge -- I am really looking forward to all the support and motivation there!
Have a great day! :wizard:

You have such amazing willpower! Bummer about not going to DL, but maybe you can save up and go to WDW for the holidays next year! And just think of how thin you'll be then, woohoo!!!

You will make your exercise challenge this month, I know it! :cool1:

Hi Jamie!

I thought I'd pop over and check out your journal. I didn't read all of it, but I think we might have some things in common. I am also a picky eater with a sweet tooth, and butterfingers are my downfall!!! But yay for you for having willpower. :)

Hi Jamie!

Way to go resisting those Butterfingers! :cheer2: Your willpower is amazing! :goodvibes

Hope you have a wonderful day today! :sunny:

Good Morning All!!!!

Happy Tuesday! Wow I have not felt this good in a while! I am rested and I feel great! I got up on time (for a change!!!! LOL) and worked out with out rushing. I just have a different outlook on things today. Like I know I can do this. This last weekend was hard specially with the water. I don't know what my problem was! But hey I did so much better yesterday!

Monday:
B at 5:30 2 waffles with little butter and syrup
S at 8:30 1 Nature Valley granola bar
L at 12:00 turkey and cheese sandwich with 1/2 serving of goldfish
S at 3:30 1 Nature Valley granola bar
D at 6:30 1 1/2 BBQ hot dogs. What in the world am I going to do when the snow comes....I won't be able to BBQ!!!!!

All in all it was a good day. I got in 96 oz of water. YAY for me!!! :cheer2:
I got in 40 minutes of exercise. Wow that felt wonderful! I have missed that!

We are having an itialian potluck on Friday and I am at a loss at what to take. I told my boss that I would bring spaghetti o's and she said no!!!! So I really don't know what to take. Any idea's?

I have been getting bored with eating. I need something new. I have been looking around and trying to find some good chicken receipes that are low fat, low cal but everything has yucky vegetables in it! I am trying to like them but it is hard. For some reason I have been craving green beans. Not too sure why....I may have to buy some the next time I got to the store!

Well I better get back to work. I have tons to do today.

Thanks everyone for the great words of encouragement.

Look at you getting all "back in the swing of things"!! You have great willpower. Could you send some my way? :)

Good for you Jamie!! Great attitude.

How about a green salad for your contribution. Then you would be sure to have at least one healthy option.

:flower:

Hi Jamie, sounds like you are doing well, glad you are feeling good with the exercise. Its nice when it doesn't just make you sore.

Hey, maybe for the potluck you could test ride a Ducati!! That's amore!!
Ride up to work on that, hehe.

Great job resisting the butterfingers! I don't think I could have. They are SO tempting.

Hope you're having a good week!

Salad sounds like a good italian option. Where's chef Mike? Recipe, please!!

I agree with the others - make a nice salad (don't forget the artichoke hearts and salami!) with a lite/FF Italian dressing.

As far as chicken goes, I LOVE baking boneless/skinless chicken breasts that have been marinated. You can use Italian dressing, or they make marinades in awesome flavors like Honey Teriyaki, Tequila Lime, Caribbean Jerk, Sesame & Garlic, etc. I also bake them with lemon juice (no butter) and lemon pepper. I eat chicken at least 2x a week, but never get tired of it because there are so many different ways to prepare it! Pair the chicken up with a small side of carb (brown rice, wheat roll, mashed/baked potatoes) and a veggie and you have an easy, healthy meal! Make more than you need and save some for lunches! I like cubing or shredding the leftovers and adding it to my salads.

Have you tried broccoli and/or cauliflower with a lite cheese sauce? That is how I got my kids to try it and I have since weened them off the sauce (hee hee!) and they both love steamed broccoli and cauliflower with Butter Buds (my DD6 calls them trees and white trees). Celery and PB or lite cream cheese is also a good way to get some veggies in. Green beans are good too! I think you just need to keep trying them and eventually you will find some you like. I used to hate yogurt but made myself eat it, and eventually I learned to love it!

You have an awesome attitude today, and it's contagious! You are doing great, keep it up! :cheer2:

Hihi !
sorry it's taken me so long to get around to posting. Your doing awesome! :cool1: :cool1: BBQ in the snow? or inside? My dad has this little grill and he sometimes will put it on the stove turn on the (ventilator?) and then bbq oO
Keep up the great work!

Hi!

Glad to hear you're feeling strong and confident today. Yay for you!

Italian potluck, eh? Let's see...you could do a lowfat pasta salad, bruscetta dip, marinated mozzarella and tomatoes, antipasto tray, or you could bring biscotti. They're lowfat and satisfying. Sounds like a fun lunch!

Hi Everyone!!!! Thanks for all the great ideas for our lunch tomorrow. I have to get to the store tonight and get some stuff. I'll let ya'll know what I end up taking!!!! Thanks again~

Well I weighted myself this morning and nothing. Again...this is the second week that the scale has not moved. I just want it to do something. Go up even! I would much prefer it to go down, but just move please!!!! I am going to kick it up a notch with my exercise so I hope that will help!

The last two days have been pretty busy so I apologize for not getting to journals! I did pretty well Tuesday but yesterday was not soo good!

Tuesday:

B at 5:30 1/3 cup cereal with 1/3 cup milk
S at 8:30 1 hard boiled egg white
L at 12:00 1 can HC soup with 6 saltine crackers
S at 3:00 nature valley granola bar
D at 6:30 Village Inn with the in laws. I had a cheese omlet with hash browns, didn't eat them all thoug

Wednesday:
B at 5:30 1/3 cup cereal with 1/3 cup milk
S at 8:30 1/2 serving goldfish crackers
L at 11:30 2 slices of cheese pizza and a very small salad. Yes I said salad!!!! I was in a meeting and work brought lunch in. SHould have only had one slice of pizza since I had salad, but I didn't :guilty:
S skipped - was not hungry
D at 7:00 1 grilled cheese sandwich with 1/2 serving of soup

So Wednesday was not all that good. I could have done so much better, but oh well. On to today! I did get my water in though!!!! All 100 oz of it for both days! That felt so good!

I am still resisiting the butterfingers. Very hard, but it is nice to have them in a locked drawer so I am not tempted!!!!

Well I have to get back to work. I will try and get on at lunch!!!!

Have a great day!

Good job drinking water! I have not been that successful here lately. I like to drink my water with ice, but it has been so cold here that I can't drink ice water without freezing from the inside out!! :cold: You will see that scale move in time. Just keep at it!! :cool1:
