I don't like Britney Spears...never liked her music or just her in general. Her little sister though...she seemed normal. When I saw the article on MSN, I was a bit shocked. I figured, "Surely this girl would have learned from her messed up sister. Two failed marriages, two children taken away." Nope. This is very sad. I don't necessarily blame the parents. Kids are going to do what they are going to do sometimes. Especially a teenager when it comes to sex. Just sad. Hope her boyfriend has at least some sort of sane head on his shoulders and it doesn't turn into a K-Fed/Sean Preston/Jayden James-esque nightmare.

I so agree. These girls were obviously the meal tickets for their parents. One just needs to listen to Britney for 5 minutes to see that her educational needs were seriously neglected. You can't blame Paris, Lindsay or anyone else. There are lots of child stars in Hollywood that have had terrible role models but they turned out okay.

I have no idea who Lindsay is or what she does, other than being in magazines. But I have read some articles about Paris, her youth and the lack of parenting she got. Basically, her mom never cared about her, and just wanted her daughter "to be famous", no matter how she got famous. Well, I guess Paris has fulfilled mom's expectations.

I remember thinking that I felt sorry for Paris. Yes, they have money, but that's it.

The Spear's family is about the same thing, although I don't tink they had that money before Britney became famous.

Well, so much for wondering which teenage celeb will become the next fodder for the tabloids. In a way I was surprised to read this but somehow it's not too much of a surprise.

Someone earlier mentiioned that Nickelodeon has pulled her show. Have they? I haven't seen any mention of it in any of the news articles I've read. If they haven't, they should. Jamie's main focus right now should be her pregnancy, and I don't know how they could write that into a kids show. Besides, I'd be surprised if her contract doesn't have some sort of "morals clause." I imagine they could retool it without Jamie, and make it more of an ensemble show.

(Not only that, but it's overrated IMO; "Unfabulous" is a much better show)

I have one pregnant student right now and one who switched to our "online" school because she is having twins (both are 17). It's in no way glamorous for them. I have barely seen "Zoey 101" but I was hoping this Spears was a step above the other one. Guess I was wrong, especially if her reaction to being pregnant and 16 is to sell her story to a magazine!
She may as well move back to Louisiana for that "Normal life" because she just helped her show jump the shark all the way to the garbage pile.

They are fascinated with celeb babies. They were going online and looking at baby clothes they would buy if they got pregnant (all 16 years old). Yes, teenage pregnancy has been around for a long time, but now it is looked upon as a cool thing to do.

Mom Lynne Spears’s planned book on parenting is being delayed.

“The book is delayed indefinitely. It’s delayed, not cancelled,” says a spokeswoman for Thomas Nelson, which publishes Christian books. “We are standing behind Lynn at this time and understand that she needs time with her family – we support that.”

Lynne’s book had been scheduled for a spring 2008 release.

Yeah, like I'm going to take parenting advise from someone who has raised two screwed up misfit daughters.

I remember a group of girls in my school (20 years ago) thought it was cool to be pregnant. Maybe if you give birth and drop the kid off on your parents it could be cool. I think they just enjoyed the attention the pregnancy gave them.

I have a problem with any article that mentions the father of the baby as "a longtime boyfriend" as if saying "longterm boyfriend" makes their situation more acceptable. Gee, the girl is only 16. What sort of longterm relationship can a 16 year old have? The article makes it sound like they are talking about Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. I was particularly amused by her response to teens and sex. Of course she, being in the public eye and having a tv show, is going to have a prewritten response that all teens should wait.

Boy, her mother must be soooo proud! seriously, doesn't anyone see that all of these girls and boys who are young and the children of rich parents, or child stars, notice that having too much money and freedom at such a young age is nothing but trouble??? Look at the history of child stars, Dana Plato, Nicole Richie, Corey Haim, Lindsey Lohan, Brittany spears, all have or had an addiction to some substance or alchohol. Giving a young child who makes Millions, too much money and too much freedom is just a free ticket to disaster. Wouldn't you think their parents would have wised up by now, or are they all too wrapped up in spending their kids money that they don't give a crap. What a bunch of losers. We as the public need to stop supporting their behavior by stop buying into them and their products. I so would love to see how different they acted now, if they lost everything and had to be real hard working people.

I find it disturbing and disgusting that they are obviously selling their story for profit!!
What is Lynn Spears thinking? She must want to make every dollar she can since Jamie will probably be fired from her show.

I don't believe for one minute that she "sold" her story to the magazine because she wanted to profit from this. I am certain that she went to the magazine so SHE could be the one to break the story on HER terms, and not have so sleazy tabloid exploit her. Personally, I think it was a smart move on her part.

What's with everybody bashing her Mom because a teenager got pregnant???? It's not like she is the first 16 yr old in history to have premarital sex and get pregnant! I have read several stories from people right on this board who were teenage moms, some of them even younger than Jamie Lynn.

Last I heard, teenagers across all demographics are getting pregnant. Doesn't matter if you come from a trailer park or a mansion. Teenagers have sex. Some of them get pregnant. Blaming her mother is ridiculous.

Britney Spears’ mother Lynne Spears is writing a book on parenting for Christian publisher Thomas Nelson, Usmagazine.com has confirmed.
“We’ve signed her to a deal,” a spokesman for Thomas Nelson tells Us. The book, which will be coming out next Mother’s Day is titled Pop Culture Mom: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World.
“It’s a parenting book that’s going to have faith elements to it. I don’t think it’s totally been written yet,” says the publisher’s rep, who expects the manuscript by December.
Lynne, 52, recently reconciled with her daughter after months of estrangement (though Us reports in its new issue that the singer has recently cooled things off again). Britney, 25, cut her mother out of her life and refused to allow her to see her grandchildren after Lynne entered the singer into rehab last February against her will.
