I have a question about the Sunrise Safari. We are booked for it in September. With Tusker House being closed, does anyone know where the breakfast is being moved to? Thanks.

Only 85 more days!!!

stepdisney...Keep trying! That's what I did! I finally got one night...and I'm going to continue to try and add on more nights. I checked on line and called every day until yesterday...our first night was available, but nothing after that! I'm just gonna keep on...you do it too!:thumbsup2

I asked that question when I booked the safari. They told me it would be held someplace else, but they didn't know where yet.

I still can't believe I can't get a room at AKL:sad1: I've tried three times a day for over a week and it's like Fort Knox...can't get in. Just thought I'd post (heavy sigh) :sad2:

Have you tried e-mailing AKL concierge and asking them why it's the only sold out hotel in August basically and if they are holding back rooms?

I'm curious, too. I just called CRO and the CM I talked to didn't know.:confused3 On Lou Mongellos podcast he said that Disney was actually contacting people who booked SV rooms to see if they wanted to move to a 1 BR at OKW??? I'm nervous. I'm really looking forward to this trip. We love AKL, I really hope it's not that bad. I definitely would not trade AKL for OKW. I guess only time will tell. Guess I'll have to be patient. :rolleyes1 Hopefully, Someone will find out what is going on and post.:goodvibes

That is a great idea, and worth a try :thumbsup2 . I keep thinking they found that they overbooked and some would be inconvenienced by the noise and need to move. I'll let you know as soon as I hear something. :thumbsup2

I've been checking website for AKL availability and since there is nothing, I thought I would post here. I have two savannah rooms booked for 9/22 - 9/30 with free dining that I am going to cancel. We had two dates booked and just found out we are traveling 9/8 - 9/16 instead. If anyone needs AKL for week of 9/22 send me a PM and I will call CRO and find out if I can transfer them to a Diser that wants that time.

What a wonderful post. :flower3: We're looking for Aug. 30 - Sept. 3 but it is nice to know that rooms really do open up. This gives me hope! I am sure someone will grab the rooms right away.

I just don't think they are releasing the rooms to CRO. :confused3 The resort was far from full when I was there (several rooms on my floor were empty), yet when I'd try to plug in some numbers for my dates, it would always show no availability.

Also, when we were trying to get me an extra night, CRO couldn't help me, but the manager at AKL could.

Just got off of the phone and, again, had no success. This time the CM at CRO said that the only resorts available for free dining are POFQ, GF, and POR? I was on line this morning and there was availability at WL and Poly. I told her about this and she said that all that was available was what she said and that I would have gotten to the end of booking on line and the computer would have indicated that there were no rooms available  . Now when I put in AKL, it comes up immediately that the resort is not available but the others come up available. This is the last week that the offer is available, maybe this is why they are limiting availability? :confused3

So if I already have my room booked from October 24th-27th, there is no way they could have overbooked me right?

I have a public service announcement for those of you who ever tried the Nyami Nyami at the pool bar. When I went to order one the bartender told me that he couldn't make it because they wouldn't send him Amarula anymore.

:sad1: I'd been looking forward to that drink all year!

DH asked around and found out that the bartender at Victoria Falls knows how to make it, and the bartender at Jiko knows how to make it. (and now we do too :teeth:) So basically, if those bartenders leave, the Nyami Nyami is no more.

Please, folks, let's keep the Nyami Nyami going!

My favorite drink at the AKL is the Nahtazu. The last time I asked for it at the pool bar, the bartender had to look it up. As long as you have the recipe for the Nyami Nyami, any bartender should be able to make it for you.

I spoke to a CM from CRO again this evening. The system was down for several hours for "updating". I was hopeful that perhaps this would mean more rooms opening up. The CM informed me that it is true, people who have booked Savannah view rooms are being offered "upgrades" of 2 bedroom villa's at SSR. She did not come out and tell me until I asked her why there were no rooms. She then said that the views people booked were going to be "obstructed" because of construction. This information was given only after I asked if there would be upgrades for any other resorts. She said the only reason the upgrades were being given to AKL guests was because of the views being obstructed. She said that any rooms that came back into inventory would be used to adjust the guests who did not want to switch. Until everyone who is already booked has been taken care of to their satisfaction, there will be no rooms offered to other guests. .. this means me :sad1:. It is only fair to take care of the guests who have already booked first. I think if I had been booked and I was asked to switch, I'd be a little unhappy. At least we know now why the rooms are not available and not because it is overcrowded. Maybe next time. Yes I will still continue to lurk and keep my ears and eyes open to any other news.

I wonder how long the views will be obstructed for...guess I'll be talking to Don tomorrow. I'll cancel my trip because the only resort I want to stay in is AKL and I want a good view for all the money I'll be spending.
