Ok, I have this BEAUTIFUL pic of the AKL Tree and I can't for the life of me figure out how to link it in! And to think I was the IT person in my former office!

I am going to just email this pic to Cass and then figure out how the heck to do this. It is now a personal quest!

Yep! When we went last month the main reservations line put "non-smoking" "king sized bed" and "honeymoon couple" on our ressie. I did everything via the main number except ADR's and our Segway tour. We got our non-smoking, king sized bed room and were presented with Just Married buttons upon check-in, so I know they pay attention to that. :thumbsup2
Thanks so much for the tip!

Has anyone ever done the Savannah Romance Package for Two?

served on your own private balcony $99.95

Your private Savanna feast includes:
Mixed Green Salad with mango vinaigrette
Choice of Any Two Dinner Entrees on the Private Dining menu
A Special Dessert made for sharing
Choice of a glass of house wine

Do you know if it is just on the balcony of your room? Do you get a server. I would just like to learn more about the actual experience. Also...how do you book this package. Thanks for any info you all can share!

No, haven't done Romance Package but where do I sign up? All I know is when I grow up, I wanna spend two or three nights in the Royal Assante Suite! (oh, yes, with the Romance Package on top of that). That's like Concierge level for Concierge level!

Well, this is my first attempt at posting a pic. As y'all can see, it's only the darned link. Cass, thanks for the help. I have been following other posters' instructions, and I can't seem to get the actual pic to show up, just not the URL link...arrggghhh. :confused3

Okay, folks, drumroll please...

Back to the question of who is now eligible for the Sunset Safari and how to book it...

-According to someone at the front desk at AKL (who had just checked early yesterday), the Wanyama (Sunset) Safari IS now available not only to AKL Concierge guests but also to non-Concierge AKL guests.

-The front desk person transferred me to Dining Reservations, and the person there said that I had to go through "Itinerary Planning" at AKL (I'm not clear if that's the same as Concierge). Anyway, she gave me a phone # which allowed me to leave a message, but nobody has gotten back to me (maybe because they only call back booked Concierge guests???).

So, that's where it stands...I'm confident that you CAN go on the Wanyama Safari without being an AKL Concierge guest, but I still don't know how to book it!

Can anybody help?

The IPO is definately the concierge planners, but they are in charge of arranging the Sunrise/Sunset safaris, so I am going to guess leaving the message was the right thing to do.

You could also try to email them at this email WDW.AKLodge.Concierge@disney.com

Put something like 'please book sunset safari and the date you want'

give them your confirmation # and explain that you are not staying on the club level but that you have been told it's available for all guests. Ask them to advise you the way to book if contacting them was not correct :-)

Thats makes me sooooooooo excited! We decided to try Jiko instead of Cali Grill (not that we can make ADR's yet but oh well) and it would be cool to do the sunset safari also!

Whenever anyone finds out the best way to contact please let me know!!!!Thanks.

Jiko food a tad better than CaliGrill. My opinion only:snooty:. Anyone can book Sunset Safari, even those who aren't even staying at AKL. I am not sure what Itinerary Planning is...hmmm. That's a new one. Anyway, good luck.

Yes, it was pouring! Okay, I went down to Mara and was going to goof around and take a pic of the Zebra Domes, but I didn't! What you guys did for me was make me slow down, look around. I haven't done that in a while. I did notice there are tons of smaller Christmas trees around the Lodge, and I have to honestly say that I wouldn't have noticed if you didn't sort of send me on a mission! I did go into Zawadi and discovered a new line of bath products after feeling (as I always do) the AKL bathrobe, hoping it would be under MY tree at Christmas! Anyway, you gotta check the bath stuff out. Smells yummy and not too badly priced. Just couldn't get past the Penzo pottery and the beautiful Dotson paintings of AKL.

Anyway, my pleasure to take the pic. Sorry I didn't take any more for you. Disney is absolutely beautiful this time of year, I am sure y'all agree. I find it hard to stay away!

PS...for you guys heading out in the next few days/weeks, please keep eye on extended forecasts for Orlando. It has been up and down, near freezing to warm and humid with rain. Be prepared for anything. Yes, we did have snow last Tuesday! (no, not the stuff at Magic Kingdom).

Hey RD, could you PM me the phone number? I tried the email address that was posted, but our flight leaves early Sat AM, so I don't know that they'll get back to me before we leave.
Thanks!
