We had two animals (some type of cattle) sleep below our balcony each night.

Those would be Anikole Cattle if they looked like this....

Yes, the area circled is the zebra trail savanna view rooms. but like I said there is no ostriches on that side - you seen them from the kudu side - they are on the sunset savanna.

I prefer arusha savanna view , but like to look through the hallway windows at the sunset savanna while walking to the room. The time I stayed on Zebra trail I don't think I made it over to the other side once!

Zebra trail is much closer and more convenient to the pool and restaurants though.

The time I stayed on Zebra trail I don't think I made it over to the other side once!

Zebra trail is much closer and more convenient to the pool and restaurants though.

When we stayed on Zebra trail, we found it very convenient to use the elevator to go almost straight to the pool, game room and Mara. Next time we stay there again we will definetly request Zebra trail again.

Hi everyone!

Going in 23 days. I've pretty much decided that the Zebra trail is where we want to be, but which floor should I request? 1 & 2 seem too low, 5 too high?? I guess that leaves me with 3 & 4. Anyone have any thoughts?

Another question....on ME luggage tags, do you get one set of tags for arrival and one set for your departing flight? I got sets of arrival flight for my friend and I, but only a deprting set for her. Maybe because she's switching hotels on the last night???? The tags have my arrival date on them, but nothing about departure date. It just seemed odd to me that you would use the same luaggage tags for departure that you do for arrival. Thanks for yor help!

Please don't hate me, but I thought the Kudu trail was better, only because as you walked back and forth from the room everyday you got to see the Ostriches out on the Sunset Savanna, plus it is so much fun to cross that bridge that spans the lobby

I've heard about that bridge before. Does anyone have a picture of it? It sounds pretty cool, you actually cross it to get to your hotel rooms? Are the hallways in the AKL themed? I've seen hallway pictures of many of the other resorts on random threads, but never of AKL. Just curious...

It's so close I can almost taste it! You'll have to peel me off the walls a week from now...can I possibly get more excited?!?! This morning my DD8 finally told me to stop with the play by plays because it's driving her nuts. No more "do you know what we'll be doing exactly 2 weeks from now? We'll be standing in line waiting for the rope to drop at MK..." Guess I'm making the anticipation worse by talking about it too much. But ya'll will let me ooze with excitement, right?!?!

Wendy & Lisa: hurry up with those trip reports, we can't wait to hear all about it!!!!

I haven't read far enough to see if anyone has responded yet. You don't need luggage tags for your departure. Your bags risk returning to AKL without you if you have the yellow tags on!!!

Have a GREAT trip! I'll be there in November - can't wait!!

...you don't get 'departure' tags because: a) you aren't going to a WDW resort, and b) you have a 'check-in desk' right in the AKL lobby (next to Bell Services) where you would bring all your luggage when you are departing...

EDIT:

...see the green 'light' (Exit sign) in the middle?? Just to the right of it are two wide columns, where you see part of a person in a white shirt...THAT is where the ME desk is....

Hey, we had a great time!!! You lucky duck, I wish we didn't have to come home!!! LOL Our next trip is planned for jan./feb. too!!!

DS actually didn't do the adventure camp, he didn't want to do it, so he opted to paint the birdhouse instead!!!

I'm working on my trip report and uploading pics into photobucket............ hopefully I'll have something to post soon!!!
