JAMBO Everybody...An August 2011 TR (Completed May 13)

They have also been showing it on television in one of those Heritage Canada videos for years now. :happytv:

The Kanata Heritage Canada Minute is how I remember!!
Is the one about Jacques Plante your favorite declansdad??

Ok all our American and Worldwide followers......if you Google Heritage Canada minutes and click Historica Minutes....... you will find links to some cool videos.......find out what why Canada is linked to Superman, Jackie Robinson, Basketball and of course Winnie the Pooh! They are available in all time zones......oh yeah Canada had something to do with that too!

I like the Plante video but I think the basketball clip is the best.

Yum, I can't wait to try Le Cellier on our trip next month. It will be the first time!

Really enjoying your TR, thanks for writing and all the pics! :thumbsup2

So glad you had a good dining experience at Le Cellier! I'm sad to see that the dining room didn't look much different for dinner. Being a signature dining experience they'd do something other than jack the prices. I'm glad the food and service was really good! And amazing how Jasmine got her favourite cake for free :thumbsup2

Hey... keeping you on your toes is part of my job!

....and you are exceeding expectations!

I'm the entertainment committee? Oooooooh, how does that song go? "nothing but a good time"!!!! But just remember, if we do a girls trip in WDW we have to apply Vegas rules ... what happens in WDW STAYS in WDW. LOL

Vegas rules apply....got it:thumbsup2

I agree with y'all... men suck!!!! :rotfl2:

....and you have 3 living with you so you are a bit of an expert:rolleyes1

Yummy! Each time someone asks if Le Cellier is worth the hype I always say "Yes!" It never disappoints:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Couldn't agree more...never been disappointed:goodvibes

Yum!! What a great update. That was very sweet of the waitress to do that for Jasmine. :thumbsup2 The pixie dust experience at Disney is like no other! It's amazing how one little tiny bit of goodness can really make a trip even more awesome.

Thanks:goodvibesSo true! We have had our share of pixie dust over the years and still get just as excited when someone does something so nice for one of us!

Yes dinner at Le Cellier!! Which I always pronounce incorrectly and it drives DBF crazy! :rotfl: My grandmother grew up in Canada before moving to the US when she was 20 or so, we still have family that lives up there as well :thumbsup2 so I need to brush up on my trivia :thumbsup

I cannot wait to have some of that soup, it looks sooo yummy!!!

That is hilarious....I have a bit of a sick mind, so I would pronounce it incorrectly just to drive him crazy anyways:lmao:

Jasmine said you have to let her know if you love it...she is sure you will!

Sorry I have been AWOL - I think I am caught up - had oral surgery and still trying to heal - anyhoo - We LOVE LeCellier! It's our fav TS - the pretzel bread, cheddar soup, chocolate mousse - I mean "moose":lmao: Can't wait to eat real food again!

I am so happy you're back:hug: I woke up this morning and thought if you hadn't posted I was sending you a PM...you had been away far too long and I was getting worried:hug:

Oral surgery:scared1:there is nothing I hate more than going to the dentist for a cleaning nevermind when it's something way more serious! I hope you mend quickly:thumbsup2

It's our favorite too!

I have to agree!!

Really enjoying your TR, thanks for writing and all the pics! :thumbsup2

I can't wait to hear what you think! I really hope you enjoy it!

I am so happy that you're enjoying it and thanks for taking the time to post!!:cool1:

Being a signature dining experience they'd do something other than jack the prices. I'm glad the food and service was really good! And amazing how Jasmine got her favourite cake for free :thumbsup2

The dining room hasn't changed at all, the only difference was the desserts are on display as you walk into the restaurant:confused3 Other than that and jacking up the prices, it was the only differences that I saw!

Jasmine was so excited and the funny thing is that SW and MM actually had their Birthday buttons on and were celebrating and Geodoc had to pay for their desserts:lmao:

I didn't DIS too much this weekend so I am now playing catch up with no pictures. Doesn't matter - your Le Cellier update didn't need pictures to illustrate the awesomeness of that evening. So glad you entree was perfect. Too funny that Jeff was STILL hungry - a burger and fries! :rotfl2: That is too much and probably the first time I have ever read about someone eating and LeCellier and then eating a burger and fries.

How great that Jasmine got a piece of her favorite cake for her birthday. Gotta love Disney magic! :goodvibes

WOW the food looks awesome at Le Cellier. Never been there, but would love to go. I would agree that the poutine probably wouldn't be as good, they make it all "gourmet" fancy with truffle oil and what not. It's best when it's just plain and simple. :thumbsup2

DH and I thought they should put a poutine-to-go cart in WS in Canada, now that would be a nice snack to munch on walking through the countries. Jeff would have appreciated that. :goodvibes

More trivia for next time anyone is there, the word Quebec means "where the river narrows" referring to the St Lawrence River and how it becomes narrow as it reaches Quebec City. That how that city got it's name.

Yum! I really want to eat there! Hopefully next trip!
That is so awesome that jasmine got her favourite cake! :goodvibes yay!!
I hope you did a tally of all jeff's thumbs up at the end of the trip haha :thumbsup2

That's a pretty interesting piece of trivia about Canada! Every second suburb around where is live has an aboriginal name and I still don't know what most of them mean whoops :lmao:

Aw, Queen - thanks for thinking of me:hug:
Poutine in WS would be awesome! We have to drive for at least three or four hours to get decent poutine around here.
I am so enjoying your trip report - you are a natural born writer!

So glad you enjoyed Le Cellier! I loved the fact that the hostess station asked lots of trivia questions. We were waiting for our table with a family of 9 that had been waiting a LONG time for a table.... and they exhausted Canadian trivia, had moved on to Disney parks questions. It was a fun way to pass the time waiting for our table!:thumbsup2

Love that the chef brought out her favorite cake.... what a nice bit of pixie dust!:wizard:

Sorry I have been MIA :guilty:. I have been so busy with all the wedding stuff lately. I am going to catch up and come back later to post.

I did it :cool1:, all caught up now. I have to agree with you; the pictures of Jasmine and Jeff are just so sweet. It is always good to know that your child has someone in their life that cares about them so much.

I LOVE Le Cellier :lovestruc, but one of the last times we ate there it was a little off. I don't know what was up, but I sure won't cross them off my list because of it. The soup and pretzel bread is AMAZING together.

Great update and awesome pix :thumbsup2

Yay, I loved your update of Le Cellier! :cool1: We never ate here during our trip but your review makes me wish I had - I will def be booking an ADR here for a future trip ;)

Lol at the Canada trivia situation and knowing the answer of how Canada got it's name - I now know something new!

I love all the pictures and you are right in that Jasmine and Jeff look 'content' in that pic of the two of them - they make such a cute couple!

Lol at Jeff still being hungry after the meal! Sounds like something my brother would say!

Wow at the service and Jasmine getting her cake - what a wonderful thing for your server to do :thumbsup2 Looking forward to reading about the next day.

I cannot believe that I missed this post and I could never forget one of my most favorite people on earth:hug:

Next time you will have to book Le Cellier, I just know you would love it! The Canadian Trivia was fun for us too and we even learned a thing or two:rolleyes1 I think they make an adorable couple...they are super excited because their one year anniversary is quickly approaching and they each have great surprises planned for each other!

I'm surprised there was any food left when we left...I was sure he ate it all:lmao: I was so impressed with our server and that she did that for Jasmine and Jasmine was so excited which just made my day!

We have our year end gala tomorrow evening for work but I hope to have another update done for sure by Friday:woohoo: Again, please forgive me for missing your post!

They have also been showing it on television in one of those Heritage Canada videos for years now. :happytv:

Yes that's true they have!

Do you remember seeing a commercial a few years ago about that? In the commercial, the native elder motions to his village and asks if the newcomers would like to come to the village. Cartier says "Canada must be the name for this land." Another junior member pipes up, "Sir? I think he means the village." "No, no." Cartier replies, "It's definitely the land, I know what I'm talking about."

Yup I sure do remember that!

Yup. Noticed the body language right away. They do seem quite happy together. :goodvibes

Me too! They are very happy ... one year anniversary next weekend ... where has the time gone:confused3

I've heard from a lot of people about the cheddar soup and how good it is. When we were in WDW last time, we didn't have hoppers so I made sure I knew which park we were going to be in and made ADRs 180 days +10 out. I managed to score a Le Cellier slot and couldn't wait to try the soup. Well, on the day we were going to go, we had already been to each park once. The kids decided that they wanted to go back to DHS instead of EPCOT. "Are you sure?" Yup. They are. I was crushed but called and cancelled the ADR and booked something else in DHS. Now this next part, I am not exagerating or embellishing. This is exactly what happened... So I cancel Le Cellier, book a new ADR and hang up. As soon as I hang up and turn around, the kids inform me that they've changed their minds again and now want to go to EPCOT after all! I ask them several times, "Are you sure?" Yup. They are. I get back on the phone, but by then Le Cellier is all booked up. We settled for Biergarten, which is okay... but...

You are a patient man, I think my head would have been spinning around:lmao: You're a great dad though, I am apparently just a grouchy mom:rotfl2:

Ah, yes. I remember those days.

:lmao:

That's great! Gotta love when the pixie dust fairy comes by! :) Thanks for the update! :goodvibes

You sure do! I find a lot of times they don't really pay attention to the adults at the table but this time she really seemed to connect with Jasmine which I thought was awesome:thumbsup2

I cannot believe that I missed this post and I could never forget one of my most favorite people on earth:hug:

No worries hun  I hope you are feeling better and having a good week

Next time you will have to book Le Cellier, I just know you would love it! The Canadian Trivia was fun for us too and we even learned a thing or two:rolleyes1

Le Cellier is now definitely going on my wishlist and I am looking forward to dining here on a future trip. You never know, we may end up at the world at the same time one year and be able to have a meal here together ;)

I think they make an adorable couple...they are super excited because their one year anniversary is quickly approaching and they each have great surprises planned for each other!

Aaw that is adorable! :lovestruc I hope they have a great day together on their one year anniversary and enjoy the surprises they have planned for each other.

:lmao: I'm so happy that your server was able to make both your days by providing that extra bit of pixie dust :thumbsup2

We have our year end gala tomorrow evening for work but I hope to have another update done for sure by Friday:woohoo: Again, please forgive me for missing your post!

Have fun tomorrow! :cool1: Woohoo for another update! I need to update my TR as well - hope to do it in the next couple of days.

I don't need to forgive you for anything sweetie - these things happen

I cannot believe how much that boy eats...I guess I never put much thought into it because he usually eats at home before he comes to our house and Jasmine eats like a bird so that's what I'm used to:confused3

Disney magic is the best...I wish I had captured the look on her face though:headache: That would have been a great pic:thumbsup2

WOW the food looks awesome at Le Cellier. Never been there, but would love to go. I would agree that the poutine probably wouldn't be as good, they make it all "gourmet" fancy with truffle oil and what not. It's best when it's just plain and simple. :thumbsup2

I don't like gourmet anything, I love good honest to goodness home cooked food! We are very lucky here because we have an entire suburb of our city that is French, so we drive 20 minutes for the best poutine ever!!! Not good when you're dieting though:rotfl2:

I love the idea of a poutine cart in WS, it would be constantly lined up!

Thanks for the trivia....I learned something today!!:thumbsup2

Yum! I really want to eat there! Hopefully next trip!

I hope you get to eat there too! You know what, I didn't tally them up, I'll get Jasmine on it!:lmao:

I understand about all the aboriginal names, it's the same here!

Aw, Queen - thanks for thinking of me:hug:
Poutine in WS would be awesome! We have to drive for at least three or four hours to get decent poutine around here.
I am so enjoying your trip report - you are a natural born writer!

Your welcome, I missed you!

That's quite a drive but the prize at the end would be well worth it wouldn't it?

Aww thanks Shelley, you are so sweet!

Love that the chef brought out her favorite cake.... what a nice bit of pixie dust!:wizard:

That's so great how they moved on to other trivia, it really got all of us talking while we were waiting! The time flew by while we were waiting! That cake is so delicious and I really wish I snuck a bite....sure could use one now!:lmao:

Sorry I have been MIA :guilty:. I have been so busy with all the wedding stuff lately. I am going to catch up and come back later to post.

Hey girl:hug: I completely understand how busy you've been....wedding planning is time consuming stuff:thumbsup2

I did it :cool1:, all caught up now. I have to agree with you; the pictures of Jasmine and Jeff are just so sweet. It is always good to know that your child has someone in their life that cares about them so much.

I can't imagine her dating someone that I didn't like or get along with....her first boyfriend was a bit of a player but she figured him out pretty quick and within 3 months she was single. She has done well choosing since then:thumbsup2

The same thing happened to us 2 visits ago at Coral Reef, but I refused to write it off completely and when Jas and I went last September, it was the best meal of the trip!

Thanks Dana:hug:

No worries hun  I hope you are feeling better and having a good week

Thanks:hug: I realized when I went back to look I missed declansdad and pkondz too...:confused3loosing my mind I guess:rotfl2:

Le Cellier is now definitely going on my wishlist and I am looking forward to dining here on a future trip. You never know, we may end up at the world at the same time one year and be able to have a meal here together ;)

I would absolutely love that....and you never know, it could happen;)

Aaw that is adorable! :lovestruc I hope they have a great day together on their one year anniversary and enjoy the surprises they have planned for each other.

I know they are planning a dinner out but they don't know where yet:rolleyes1

:lmao: I'm so happy that your server was able to make both your days by providing that extra bit of pixie dust :thumbsup2

I could sure use some of that cake now...I'm sure it would help me feel better:sick:

Have fun tomorrow! :cool1: Woohoo for another update! I need to update my TR as well - hope to do it in the next couple of days.
Thanks...a few of my staff are up for awards so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for them!
I don't need to forgive you for anything sweetie - these things happen

Thanks hon:hug:

Okay, forgive me for this question.
What is poutine and how is it pronounced?? In my mind I am saying it "poo-teen," but I just need confirmation:lmao:!
