I am hoping this includes club level too!! I want my DVC club level room to actually be club level.

Ohh that is what I am talking about. I already have booked DVC Club level, so the rooms are available yes, but the actual services are what makes it club level. In DVC the club level rooms are actually some of the worse views. So without the services, it is actually worse category then savannah rooms.

Well I don't think booking for AKL hotel rooms started at midnight. Right now it's 5:08 am Eastern time (Wed 06/16). I just tried checking 3 random dates for an Animal Kingdom Lodge hotel room, and they all came back as unavailable.

The page on the Disney World website which has the Update On Disney Resort Hotel Reopenings still does not mention AKL.

Also, the reopening of AKL hotel rooms was not mentioned on the Disney parks blog. I know it was mentioned in some other blogs, but I don't know where they got their information. (Hopefully not from a bus driver, LOL.)

Regarding AKV DVC - the Club Level rooms have been available to book since the regular AKV villas were available to book, but the lounge itself has not been open. The DVC Member website still says this: "Kilimanjaro Club Concierge rooms at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Jambo House are available for booking. Note that Club Level Amenities, services, and Cast Members are not currently available. A date has not been determined when those amenities will reopen. Should these amenities remain unavailable during your stay, you will be refunded the vacation point difference between the room type booked and the comparable Standard View room after check-out."

Howdy folks,
I just switched our hotel reservations to the classic (original) Animal Kingdom Lodge resort hotel -- not the vacation club villas. If you don't see the option online, I suggest calling 407-939-1882.

I know it would be unexpected, but I am hoping that maybe some rooms might be discounted towards the end of the year if all resorts are opened by then. Either way, I'm switching to AKL. Killing me, as my last trip I had a rate of less than $300 a night at AKL, and now it's almost $500 a night. Aack! This will most likely be my last stay on property for a while, I'm justifying the cost because my trip last year was cancelled, LOL!
