besides the extra bathroom, is there a huge difference in the villas? What are the views at Jambo? pool and parking lot? I know all standard rooms at Kidani are parking lot. Do jambo have the dedicated 2bd?

Jambo does not have any dedicated 2 bedrooms.

The standard views at Jambo are mostly pool views. There are a few less than wonderful views of the savannah. These were originally labeled "savannah" but were reclassified as "standard." People who get them now are generally thrilled with the view.

Another huge difference for me, at least, is that the 2 bedrooms at Jambo, do not have a shower stall in the master bath. They have a combo shower, Jacuzzi tub and for me at least, it is awkward to get in. It's a very wide rim.

The 2-bedrooms in Kidani Village will be about 100 sq ft larger than the non Value 2-bedrooms in Jambo House.

Kidani 2BR is about 100 sq ft larger than Jambo (that is a very noticeable difference). It has the three bathrooms and the master bath connects to the master bedroom and has separate tub and shower. Jambo has a master bath with a hallway between the bedroom and bath and those in the living room can see into the hallway. Its master bathroom also has a combined tub and shower rather than separate and the tub has very high sides to step over to get in. Also Kidani has dedicated 2BRs (can only be a 2BR and has one entry door) in addition to lock-offs (connecting studio and 1BR with the resulting two entry doors) while Jambo has only lock-offs. The dedicated provides one long balcony extending across the entire unit while the lock-off has a wall between the studio and 1BR units.

Most standard rooms at Jambo overlook the pool; none overlook the parking lot. Effective Jan 2012, they converted a small number of savanna view rooms to standard because their views were not that good (but obviously a stroke of good fortune if you get one as standard). You are incorrect that all standards at Kidani have parking lot view. About half have road and lot view. Most of the rest have pool view with some of those getting a partial view of Pembe savanna, and then, in 2012, they converted a few savanna views on the north end overlooking Pembe to standard also because the views are not good.

Jambo offers three restaurants (table service, buffet, and counter service) and the larger pool with many shaded areas to sit in, larger lobby, and larger store. Kidani offers a pool with the longer slide but shade is still a thing at a premium as trees grow, and one of the best table service restaurants on site (Sanaa) but it has no breakfast service. Kidani also has the elaborate kids water play area. Kidani has a community hall, Jambo not. If you have a car, Jambo's parking is in a large lot across the road from the front entrance that can leave you with a rather long walk unless you find a place close, while Kidani offers ideal under building parking and with eleavators spread out along the wings you can always park somewhat close to your room.

Personal view is that if you are getting a 1 or 2BR, Kidani is the choice for the better room but if getting studio or GV, Jambo is the choice. If Kidani standard I would likely request a room close to the Rafiki elevator and high floor, which area gives you the shortest walk to the pool and creates a possiblity of getting a partial Pembe savanna view.

Great info
which elevator is the Rafiki ?

From the lobby, there are two wings, south heading toward Jambo, and north, the wing on which the pool is. See map here http://www.wdwinfo.com/maps/Kindani_Village_Map.jpg Each wing has room building units referred to as "beads," nine on the north wing and seven on the south (there are no rooms facing the road side on the last three beads on the south wing). Each wing has three elevators. On the map they are at the same place where you see the red AED signs. One is right near the lobby on each wing. The second one is just past the second bead on each wing, and the third one is four beads down from that on the north wing and three on the south. The Rafiki elevator is the one on the north wing after the second bead and is one that gives you shortest walk to the pool; the furthest elevator down on the north wing is Pumba; the one after the second bead on the south wing is Timon and the furthest one down on the south wing is Zazu. The ones near the lobby don't have names as far as I can remember.

I know all standard rooms at Kidani are parking lot. ?

Not true, I book Kidani, standard point, dedicated 2 bd's twice a year and I've never gotten parking lot view! Forgive the various sizes, I have issues! As far as preferences of Kidani over Jambo, covered parking, better layout, fabulous master bath and of course the 3rd bath!

We've always gotten partial views of the Pembeh Savanna and that's w/out any requests! Here's a few pics!

I know this is an old thread, but was just wondering if you have had further dedicated 2BR Kidani stays which you were happy with the view -- meaning no parking lot view? I am torn as to which house to choose for a 2BR standard. It seems that Jambo standards will have a decent view (partial savanna or pool) where as kidani standard might have a parking lot. I wonder if the dedicated rooms are just in a different location.
