Jaime's Flower Power Trip! NEW 7/05 CH. 62: The "Really" End **COMPLETED**

Hey Jaime or shall I say JAMBO!

Just catching up here. Wow I have missed a lot.

I may have to give Cap N Jack's another shot, tried it once and YUK, but that was 3 -4 years ago.

I was at Ghiradelli's on Thursday afternoon too, must have just missed each other and it was dead in there. Gotta love no lines. I was also in WOD that afternoon too.

Good tip on that walkway at SSR, have to keep that in mind if I stay there.

OK, what is in those surprise bags, I'm always tempted, but never do.

jaime quote: We finally get to the Beach Club. 45 minutes. I’ve had marriages shorter than that! It was a ridiculous waste of time – we should have just grabbed a cab!

I'd give you a couple of rotf's if I could but this puter here at work doesn't let me do smileys. That's a great line. I also loved the Brave, fearless and Ruth-less line. One tv laugh for you. And so, you got to see Devine, how so very special for you, wait till you hear about my exploits finally this time with Devine.
maybe.

Keep up the good work Jaime, how do you find the time to get so many posts in as often as you do? sharkbait

Steve - :wave2:
OMG! I got a TV Laugh!!! But, really??? just one??? :rotfl2:

And the frequent posting is because 1.) I love it so much, and B.) I have no life! ;)

It must be fun to get paid to play!!
I'm definitely going to work at WDW when I retire! :cloud9:

Kathy

Kathy -

I work at a roofing company and I played Yatzee all winter... :confused3

hahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaahahahaha!!
:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

That "JACK LOVES THE LADIES" picture cracked. me. up. GENIUS!:lmao:

And I just love when cast members get as involved as Ball Guy. He had Jack all over the place! I'm surprised he didn't bring him over to Epcot or something!

__disneygirl -

Yeah, I was trying to figure out how I was going to get Jack back - if I was going to get Jack back!

Mo -

Yeah, I had heard bad things about the restaurant, too, but Rhonda suggested it, so I went along. Turned out to be a good move... although, I think I'll go with the tuna and clam chowder next time! :cutie:

The surprise bags contain 4 or 5 items - note pads, key chains, little toy cars, antenna toppers, once I got a plastic light saber thing... leftover Disney items, I think! :woohoo:

CHAPTER 41: Why Did She Bring a Camera to the Pool? – Still DAY 6: Thursday, May 3, 2007

34%3A4%3B%3C989%7Ffp65%3Dot%3E2326%3D679%3D%3B9%3C%3DXROQDF%3E23237%3A8%3B783%3A2ot1lsi

Rhonda and I went in the pool for a while, watching the line for the slide – tons of little kids and their parents, but the parents would walk them up to the top, then turn around and walk down the stairs again! We finally got up our courage and got in line. Rhonda is a little self-conscious – so I give her a tip I got from Kay7979: Pretend you’re with the kid in front of you! That worked for us! :thumbsup2

34%3A4%3B%3C989%7Ffp66%3Dot%3E2326%3D679%3D%3B9%3C%3DXROQDF%3E23237%3A8%3B78442ot1lsi

Rhonda went first – man, she was fast! AKL has such a tiny slide, who knew you could actually build up speed on it? Then it was my turn – whee!!!!!!!!! I come up out of the water to see Rhonda standing there with a dry head – nope, she never goes under! She gets to the end of the slide and just stands up. :confused3

Actually, she got to the end of the slide, stood up, and found herself surrounded by adults waiting for their children to come down the slide. She says loud and clear, "I paid for the trip – I’m going down the slide!" :snooty:

We wander back out into the center of the pool and watch as all those parents, who had been just watching their children, start going down the slide! They all had a blast – and I believe it’s because Rhonda made her announcement! Especially Hairy-Back Guy – he really had a good time!

A few pictures as we swam for a while (including one of me smacking my head on the bottom of the pool – there’s no deeper water than 4’ 4" or 4’ 10", something like that), then we went and found the second hot tub. It’s behind the pool bar. It’s almost time to go upstairs and get ready for dinner – we’re going to the Hoop-Dee-Doo Review!

BROOKE AND LAUREN GOT THE BIGGEST KICK OUT OF MY BEING UNDERWATER WITH MY SUNGLASSES ON! PLUS, BECAUSE I WEAR CONTACTS, MY EYES ARE CLOSED!
34%3A4%3B%3C989%7Ffp64%3Dot%3E2326%3D679%3D%3B9%3C%3DXROQDF%3E23237%3A8%3B79%3B5%3Aot1lsi

OUCH! I JUST BANGED MY HEAD!
34%3A4%3B%3C989%7Ffp69%3Dot%3E2326%3D679%3D%3B9%3C%3DXROQDF%3E23237%3A8%3B783%3C4ot1lsi

IT WAS THE PERECT HANDSTAND... LOOK AT THAT! A "10" ALL THE WAY...
34%3A4%3B%3C989%7Ffp64%3Dot%3E2326%3D679%3D%3B9%3C%3DXROQDF%3E23237%3A8%3B78392ot1lsi

AND SHE MISSED THE SHOT... :sad2:
34%3A4%3B%3C989%7Ffp6%3A%3Dot%3E2326%3D679%3D%3B9%3C%3DXROQDF%3E23237%3A8%3B74%3B%3C7ot1lsi

WHAT IS THIS? SEAWORLD?
34%3A4%3B%3C989%7Ffp6%3A%3Dot%3E2326%3D679%3D%3B9%3C%3DXROQDF%3E23237%3A8%3B75246ot1lsi

The show is at 7:15 tonight. We decide to give ourselves P-L-E-N-T-Y of time to get there, so we leave at 5:45. An hour and a half. Should be ample. Not today… :sad2:

Wow! Tell us the truth, your last job was a professional synchronized swimmer, right? Perfect form! Hilarious line from Rhonda after she came down the slide! Good for her! And you are right, it moreorless "gave permission" to the other parents to go down the slide too.

More and more I would LOVE to take a WDW vacation with either my sister or a couple of girlfriends -- but my kids (13 and 10) would pretty much disown me if I did. DH isn't all that keen on Disney, so I would have no problem leaving him at home, but the kids, thats a whole 'nother story. Guess I'll have to wait until they are a little older. I'd LOVE to go in late September with the free dining and less people with most kids back in school.

I'll say it again -- LUCKY, LUCKY YOU to be able to go so often!

I'm still here and still lovin your report Jaime!

The AKL themed swimsuit is priceless, you totally planned that too didn't you?

One of the most important things I've learned from your trippie, I must bring a mascot with me!!!

I wonder which of my son's Webkinz would enjoy the World the most! :goodvibes

Fantastic report!!! I love it!!!

hahahaha great pictures as usual! Rhonda and you rule for going down the slide, who says it's just for kids! Hairy Back Man sounds like an interesting character... (:

Can't wait to read about your experience at Hoop Dee Doo!

T(B)WB -

Actually, that swimsuit is several years old. Every trip to every pool, someone had to hear me whine, "It's really too bad wer're not staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge..."

Swim suit pictures! :earseek: You are a brave woman! (Oh, and I notice your suit co-ordinates with the AKL pool, BTW!)

Kathy

Kathy -
I've either let go of my insecurities or my self esteem... :confused3 :rotfl2:

Next time we'll get a picture of my "beached whale" impression.

You'll get your turn - don't wish away your child rearing years on Disney trips... oh, wait... yes! Wish them away! Wish them away HARD!!! I'm having a BLAST!!! ;)

__disneygirl - :wave2:

Before she takes credit for the pictures, I have to give Rhonda full credit for this episodes photos... It was her underwater camera.

But it's my report, so thank you!

Ciciwoowoo -

Thanks! The mascot is a blast and I notice more and more people doing it.

You seem like an awesome person to vacation with. Very fun. Like CiCiwoowoo said, I may have to bring a mascot with me next time. Everything just seems more comical that way. Stuff that I wouldn't normally laugh at, had me giggling just because Jack was there.

CHAPTER 42: Satan is Still on Bus Duty – Still DAY 6: Thursday, May 3, 2007

We grab a bus to the Magic Kingdom. This is the first – and only - time we had trouble with AKL’s bus service… it took 45 minutes – including the 20-minute wait time for the bus. Wow! I never thought we’d get there! Then we had to take the ferry over to Ft. Wilderness. :sad2:

I don’t know what was up with our mojo tonight – another 40 minutes! We finally get to the Ft. Wilderness dock and I’m leading the charge – it’s going to be really close! (And you should have seen the line of people at FW waiting for the boat back to the Magic Kingdom!) :scared:

I’m behind an older couple, trying to find the opportunity on the crowded dock to pass them, when they suddenly stop short! Oh, good Lord!!! Now what???

It’s a mama duck and 2 baby ducks crossing the dock. "Awww….." from the crowd. Then the mama duck freaks out and flies straight up and away!

"Awwww……" from the crowd, "The poor babies!" :sad1:

(I really wish there was a nicer way to put this, but I’m telling it like it was!)

I find my opening and plow through. Someone says loudly, "The poor babies! She left her babies!" :guilty:

And I yell back, "Yeah, I left my kids at home, too. They’ll all get over it." And head for Pioneer Hall without a glance back.:snooty:

Mother of the Year, people – right here!!! That’s right – take a picture. I’ll wait.:cool2:

Jack is a riot - and he's not only the perfect size, but he's Disney related!

Thank you! Yelling about the duck and the kids wasn't planned - I was just getting frustrated with people standing in my way!

CHAPTER 43: Hoop-Dee-Doo Part 1 – Still DAY 6: Thursday, May 3, 2007

The only words for the outside of the Hoop-Dee-Doo right before show time are:

ORGANIZED CHAOS.

You get in a line to be checked in; you get in the next line to have your picture taken; you get in the next line to be let in. Badda-bing-badda-bang-let’s eat!

Ruth opted to not be in our HDD photo – so Jack joined us (not that he wouldn’t have joined us anyway… he’s getting quite bold about getting in these pictures, you know)

34%3A527%3B%3C3%7Ffp66%3Dot%3E2326%3D679%3D%3B9%3C%3DXROQDF%3E232384766%3C636ot1lsi

Even getting there exactly at show time, we managed all 3 lines with no problem at all! And I even had time to make a bathroom run!

Jack hands over our ticket and we are seated at Table 96.

34%3A527%3B%3C3%7Ffp63%3Dot%3E2326%3D679%3D%3B9%3C%3DXROQDF%3E23237%3A8%3B84%3A%3A%3Aot1lsi

Rhonda and I (ok, mostly I) debated and pondered our table seating choices for months before the show. Did we use our dining plan credits – PRO: Not having to pay $55 for dinner and a show. CON: Would be stuck in Tiers 2 (back row) or 3 (upstairs). Or did we pay for the show and request Tier 1 – PRO: Closer seats. CON: Could still end up in the last row before Tier 2 starts. Have to pay $55 for dinner and a show.

We went with the Dining Plan option – and my reasoning was this: If they don’t sell out Tier 1 seats, doesn’t it stand to reason that Tier 2 people would be moved forward into Tier 1 tables?

And we were – by 1 whole table! But we were still on a raised table, so we could see perfectly over everyone’s heads! And I have a kick-butt zoom on my camera!

I'm still a little bit stuck on the whole Animal Kingdom themed bathing suit. Did you have a tie-dyed one for your POP trip? Perhaps one with a tiny little gator on it for POR? This could be a whole new something we need to check into in getting ready for our trip. Jill is already coordinating all Brooklynn's outfits with what we'll be doing each day, but the rest of us may need to get on the ball if the grown ups need to be doing so, too.

Still very much enjoying your trip. We've talked about doing Hoop-De-Doo sometime, but there are so many reviews about it being so, so, so "corny" that I'm a little reluctant to spend the money at this point. I'll be really interested in the review you give of the show.

Jaime, what's up with you and all the bus drama:confused3 :lmao: I think that CM at DTD with Jack was so funny! I love that he went with you EVERYWHERE! Loved the pics. at the AKL POOL! I must say that you are way more adventurous in the water than I:rotfl: Can't wait to hear more about Hoop De Doo Revue! Glad you got a good table!:thumbsup2

MeMom - :wave2:

Nope - no planning involved (for a change!) - that is the same bathing suit I've used for years... :)

In 2004, Meg taped the HDDR show. Every once in a while, we pull it out and watch it again. I absolutely love this show! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

CHAPTER 44: Hoop-Dee-Doo Part 2 – Still DAY 6: Thursday, May 3, 2007

I have seen this show twice in the last 4 years and several times as a teenager. I still cannot figure out how they manage to get everyone fed all that food and put on a show in just over an hour!

JACK'S EITHER COLD OR PLAYING COWBOY:
34%3A527%3B%3C3%7Ffp66%3Dot%3E2326%3D679%3D%3B9%3C%3DXROQDF%3E23237%3A77%3B3%3B%3A5ot1lsi

They alternate show with feeding, so if you happen to have a seat that doesn’t face the stage, you don’t miss out on the food. Which, I’ll be honest, wasn’t all that good this time. I hardly ate any of it.

SALAD'S GOOD:
34%3A527%3B%3C3%7Ffp6%3A%3Dot%3E2326%3D679%3D%3B9%3C%3DXROQDF%3E23237%3A77%3B7682ot1lsi

RIBS AND CHICKEN ON RHONDA'S PLATE ON THE LEFT; RIBS, BEANS, CORN, AND SKINNED CHICKEN ON MY PLATE.
34%3A527%3B%3C3%7Ffp6%3B%3Dot%3E2326%3D679%3D%3B9%3C%3DXROQDF%3E23237%3A77%3B3%3B%3A7ot1lsi

DESSERT - STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE:
34%3A527%3B%3C3%7Ffp66%3Dot%3E2326%3D679%3D%3B9%3C%3DXROQDF%3E23237%3A77%3B76%3A%3Aot1lsi

And did I listen to Kay7979 about the wine? NOOOOOOOOOOOO……… I ordered the sangria. Ugh! Turpentine WISHES it was this strong! It was a really bad wine, with an orange slice on top! THAT is NOT sangria! :sad2:

34%3A527%3B%3C3%7Ffp66%3Dot%3E2326%3D679%3D%3B9%3C%3DXROQDF%3E23237%3A77%3B768%3Aot1lsi

I did however, enjoy the show more than probably anyone else in that room! I think Rhonda thought I might fall off my chair a couple of times!

And the cast member playing "Johnny" looks a little familiar, don’t you think? Huh, Ball Guy must have been telling the truth!
34%3A527%3B%3C3%7Ffp66%3Dot%3E2326%3D679%3D%3B9%3C%3DXROQDF%3E23237%3A77%3B3%3B%3A9ot1lsi

BALL GUY, TO REFRESH YOUR MEMORY:
34%3A527%3B%3C3%7Ffp66%3Dot%3E2326%3D679%3D%3B9%3C%3DXROQDF%3E23237%3A77%3B5497ot1lsi

My only complaint would be during the Davey Crockett portion of the show – how are there 2 verses of the song AFTER THE A-LAME-O??? Davey DIED at the A-LAME-O!!!

34%3A527%3B%3C3%7Ffp69%3Dot%3E2326%3D679%3D%3B9%3C%3DXROQDF%3E23237%3A77%3B3%3B%3B2ot1lsi

Other than that, I love this show!!! Once Six-Bits comes out in the bear costume, I can’t stop giggling!

34%3A527%3B%3C3%7Ffp63%3Dot%3E2326%3D679%3D%3B9%3C%3DXROQDF%3E23237%3A77%3B3%3B%3A%3Bot1lsi

34%3A527%3B%3C3%7Ffp6%3C%3Dot%3E2326%3D679%3D%3B9%3C%3DXROQDF%3E23237%3A77%3B76%3B9ot1lsi

When we came out of Pioneer Hall, there were a lot of busses sitting there waiting for people and cast members asking what hotel you are staying at. We told them AKL and they told us to get on the All Star Bus… Ummmm, ok.
It worked. I guess I should know better than to doubt Disney. Except, we had a really long trip over here!
