Jaime's Flower Power Trip! NEW 7/05 CH. 62: The "Really" End **COMPLETED**

With my first daughter, they had me lay on my side on a gurney, hold my right leg up in the air (bent at the knee), and wheeled me - in the middle of a contraction - down the hall to the delivery room... to this day, I have no idea if they covered me or not. And I didn't care. :sad2:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: With my 2nd DD they did almost the same thing to me!!!

Missy - tell your husband I asked him, "How you doin'???" and is he a member (and co-founder) of the I Hate Rachel Greene Club?

ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!

He didn't say anything about the RG club but like Thumper says "If you can't say somthin nice, don't say nothin at all"

That plum tea sounds AWESOME! I should have been tipsy when we were in Epcot then at least I would have an explaination for losing my kids 3 different times!:lmao: I agree and despise German food! Classy with a K, love it!:thumbsup2 Can't wait to hear what Rhonda said!:surfweb:

Jaimie,

Thanks for posting about the Joy of Tea; it's one of the new things I'm looking forward to trying next time! :thumbsup2 (It's tough being a tea drinker in a coffee-drinking world!!)

And thanks for posting so often; it's wonderful to be able to keep track of what's going on in a report... so hard to do when people only post every one or two weeks!

Kathy

Jaime, my mom is 94 and lives with me and I'm finally running into the same thing. She can still play a mean game of canasta, though. Even with an occasional slip-up she can beat me most of the time!! :rotfl2: Lucky to still have them!

I love German food.::yes::

In Jaime's next chapter "Rhonda say's something that deserves it's own chapter" I wish I could say that it was the Plum Wine talking, but I was stone cold sober. Just don't y'all laugh too hard.

Rhonda

I just found your TR today and I love it! I had to read it between games of Connect 4 with my kids, but I managed to get through the whole thing. I loved your description of the Boma check-in area. I think we waited longer to check-in than we actually waited for a table once we got our pager.

Looking forward to the next installment.

You know I have been dieing to see this pic since you told me about. That is such a cool shot.

Great report,I'll have to check out that stand in China. I don't think I ever noticed it.

Mo -

That's my favorite picture of the trip! Jack was a lot of fun - I thought Rhonda would think I was nuts, but she really warmed up to Jack as the week went on - as you'll see!

This is a really fun trip report. A great read. Thanks for the entertainment....lol

meloneyb21 -

Thanks so much! It was a fun trip.

Colleen -

Ah, a woman of few words!

I cannot wait to try this stand in China next week!

And it was the Green Tea Plum Wine Cooler we tried at the F&W booth - a huge fabulous drinkie-poo! I think the slushie version sounds divine, so that may be what we end up trying.

I'll be sure to let you know!

Still lovin' your updates!

Brenda -

Thanks so much - I love your reports as well - yes, you got the cooler, that's it! Can't wait to hear about it and so jealous that you're leaving so soon!!!

I am envious of how fast you pump your TR out. Envious.

That plum wine sounds...YUMMO! I love me some wine.:drinking1

princessjv -

I am extremely prolific, you are correct (that word was just thrown in there for Brenda). But that's because I have no life! Kid takes care of herself at this point, no pets, no husband, and I've killed my sago palm plant (which I bought because it was supposed to be indestructible! It's a prehistoric plant, for heaven's sake!) Not that I'm complaining, mind you, but no distractions give me time to write, write, write! (I'm usually about 3 chapters ahead of what I post).

With my 2nd DD they did almost the same thing to me!!!

Missy -

WE WERE ON A BREAK!!!

That plum tea sounds AWESOME! I should have been tipsy when we were in Epcot then at least I would have an explaination for losing my kids 3 different times! I agree and despise German food! Classy with a K, love it! Can't wait to hear what Rhonda said!

dddisrunner -

I never lost a kid in WDW, thank heavens, but we did have a very sad moment in 1991 in EPCOT. Back then, they really didn't have very many characters in EPCOT and we had almost 3-year-old Stephani with us on her first trip. Without thinking, I had us go to EPCOT first (I was 23 - what did I know about touring parks with kids???). Stephani was so sad all day because she didn't understand this place and she had been told we were taking a trip to Disneyworld.

They had Goofy dressed in a kilt and standing in front of Canada. 2 year old Stephani walks up to him and asks, "Have you seen Mickey Mouse?"

Well, my heart just broke and the very next day we took her to the Magic Kingdom!

That had nothing to do with your day in EPCOT, but I don't think I've ever told that story...

Jaimie,

Thanks for posting about the Joy of Tea; it's one of the new things I'm looking forward to trying next time! (It's tough being a tea drinker in a coffee-drinking world!!)

Kathy -

Wow! You think I could get a share of the proceed the tea shop will be bringing in this year??? :lmao:

You're welcome. Basically, whether it's written or spoken, I just can't shut up! :rotfl2:

Jaime, my mom is 94 and lives with me and I'm finally running into the same thing. She can still play a mean game of canasta, though. Even with an occasional slip-up she can beat me most of the time!! Lucky to still have them!

Pittypat -

Hey - maybe your mom will remember the Donald Trump Little House episode, too! :happytv:

I love German food.::yes::

In Jaime's next chapter "Rhonda say's something that deserves it's own chapter" I wish I could say that it was the Plum Wine talking, but I was stone cold sober. Just don't y'all laugh too hard.

Rhonda

Rhonda -

Nice response! :)

And nice to see you're taking it like a man! :lmao:

My curiosity is on fire! I can't wait to hear what Rhonda said. I am guessing I might say something equivalent on any given day :)

Have a happy Monday!

Jamie (and friends!) I am loving this trip report. It sounds like you all had a wonderful trip. I totally get a hoot out of TR as I live in Orlando, and never have and never will really plan a trip to WDW (which of course will be the case when you move to FL as well!) It is fun to hear about all of the rituals that folks have and the things that go one "behind the scenes!".

Post #202 - aren't the cacti that look like palm trees great. I took a photo so I can take it to Lowe's or a garden center to see if I can get them for my year!

Post #206 - I love the new wait time board - makes more sense to have them mid-park then at the front of the park!

Post #211 - I love Laila too and don't get me started on Plum wine. I was at EPCOT for and all by myself day two weeks ago, and walking through a very quiet WS, the Japense kiosk with beverages and sushi. It was time for lunch, so I got sushi and splurged on a glass of Plum wine - it was very nice with my spicy tuna roll with wasabi!

I can't wait for the rest of your report, and NOW I think I will head to WS and have some plum wine!

:cool1:

Martha - :welcome:

Oh, I so long for the day when hopping over to EPCOT for a plum wine whenever I want is a reality!!! But I will really miss my trip reports... I've said it a thousand times - I love this part of the trip!

I'll have to - HA! I was going to say "I'll have to tell Rhonda about putting those cacti-palms in our Florida garden too" except - HELLO, RHONDA!!! Forgot she was there for a minute! Let me know if you find out their name, would you?

And the plum wine, for anyone who was interested, also went with the bratwurst very nicely... you know, for those of you who like to "pair up" your wine and food! :rotfl2:

Jaime, thank you so much for your highly entertaining trip report!!

I stumbled upon another one of your reports a few months ago and as soon as I found out you were doing another one I had to join it.
Reading it really is so much fun. And you give me so many new things to try, like the plum wine or the ginger ice-cream. And I'm sure gonna check out that Laila perfume of yours, LOL.
Don't blame you for not liking the German food - we are Austrian and should like our neighbouring country's food, but we don't like the food one little bit.

You are doing such great work - can't wait for the next chapter!!

Karin

Karin - :welcome:

Thanks!

Wow! Austria! Cool! Now I'm curious - what's the big difference between German and Austrian food? Is there a big difference?

We were there at the same time & it's great to see your pix...I love going during the flower power festival...We had our 8 yr old nephew with us so we didn't get a chance to go to any of the concerts but the flowers were spectacular as always.

alwaysonvacation - :welcome:

Of course we were there at the same time... you're alwaysonvacation!

I also love the F&GF. So beautiful... but the roses were showing signs of the drought, I think... we were there the exact same week as last year, and we really noticed the roses were having trouble.

I just found your TR today and I love it! I had to read it between games of Connect 4 with my kids, but I managed to get through the whole thing. I loved your description of the Boma check-in area. I think we waited longer to check-in than we actually waited for a table once we got our pager.

wahoostampingirl - :welcome:

Thank you!

I agree about Boma, the check-in was the longest wait! I'm really glad I knew what to expect!

OK - I'm off to watch Desperate Housewives... you'll have to wait until tomorrow to hear what Rhonda said!

Well, it’s not the booth I want, so much as the wares. Specifically, plum wine. I believe it was Brenda’s October trip that mentioned this little treat…

I love the plum wine! I got it at F&W Fest this past year. Yummy ADULT treat!

OK - I'm off to watch Desperate Housewives... you'll have to wait until tomorrow to hear what Rhonda said!

How was it? Ah, never mind, don't tell me. I have it on TIVO...watching it tomorrow (Monday) night. :happytv:

Can't wait to hear about what Rhonda said! :yay:

CHAPTER 15: Rhonda Says Something that Deserves Its Own Chapter – STILL SUNDAY, APRIL 29, 2007

So Rhonda buys the bell – and I thank the young man at the counter with a danke shane. To which Rhonda adds konnichiwa.

Every time on the trip that I said something to a cast member in their language (and you’d be amazed at the number of little words you know in other languages!), Rhonda would say konnichiwa.

I say to Rhonda, "Is that the only foreign phrase you know?"

And Rhonda (taker of 37 trips to Walt Disney World) replies,

"Yes, it’s too bad there’s not a Japan in the World Showcase."

Uh, Rhonda???… Well she realizes what she said and Rhonda, Sandy, and I fell out laughing!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

"Yes, it’s too bad there’s not a Japan in the World Showcase."

We have all had moments like this where we put our foot in our mouth.

I didn't notice the roses showing signs of drought. Are you sure it wasn't the effect of that plum wine?:cool1: :rotfl2: I've heard that it can distort your vision:3dglasses cool1: :rotfl2:

You truly leave me speachless at the end of every episode

:lmao:

~LMAO speechless~

I love your writing, you are honest and hilarious, and having your sidekicks here for rebuttals is totally cool! Like Nebo and Smidgy or MDF and LTPh cool...keep em comin lady, I got three more days of readin before I am off on a journey of my own :woohoo:

(I'll be checkin in on my blackberry-I'll even be posting live from Cali whenever I can)

LY girl MI!

~Tigger(bell)wannabe~

37 trips and she said WHAT???????????

OMG Rhonda, I was with you on the ice cream but, well, I just don't know...

I am walking away from this one, far away.

I have only eaten in the German pavilion once – back in 1989. I hated every moment of it.

This is me toooooo - I think we ate there in 2000 as DH family is very German and LOVE German food. Not me. I faked my way through the restaurant and ate a lot of the spatzel. That was about it. If we ever end up there at the same time, you and I can go elsewhere and DH can go with your family!

They also had Goldschlager, but I was still drinking the plum wine and saying, quite loudly, “Is it hot in here???” even though we were sitting in the doorway of the open-air seating area. :rotfl2:

You are a brave woman drinking wine in that heat. I could barely get any down last Oct when we were at F&W Fest. One little glass and I instantly heat up!

Rhonda...

You sounded like a Kindergarten teacher who only has 13 days left! I say wacky things all the time.

I'm loving you for that!

:)

CHAPTER 16: The Great German Church Debate Continues – STILL SUNDAY, APRIL 29, 2007

Now today had been a very hazy day – this cast member tells us his manager just told him it was wild fires in GEORGIA that was the cause of the haze!!! Holy cow!!!

349%3C7%3B393%7Ffp6%3A%3Dot%3E2326%3D679%3D%3B9%3C%3DXROQDF%3E23237%3A765%3C78%3Aot1lsi

349%3C7%3B393%7Ffp67%3Dot%3E2326%3D679%3D%3B9%3C%3DXROQDF%3E23237%3A765%3A8%3C8ot1lsi

I would have liked to have seen how big, and where, these fires were, but our TV never even got turned on in our room! I like my vacations to be "real-world free".

And, because I’m afraid I’ll forget to mention this at the end of this report (in 6 years!), I’ll tell you now: This was the most "real-world free" vacation I’ve ever had – I forgot a lot of basic, everyday skills while I was gone. I had to get my car out of Rhonda’s garage the next morning – you should have seen me try to figure out how to drive! First, I got in the passenger door; then I walked all the way to the back of the car; then I tried to give up my seat to an old woman with a cane!

No, really… I forgot how to drive for a few minutes there. When I sat down at the computer, I couldn’t remember how to open Word!!! And there were about 3 things at work I had to sit and try to remember how to do… now THAT’S a good vacation!

Anywho…. :rolleyes1

So lunch is over, we’ve shopped in Germany… time to walk through the train exhibit. OH FOR PETE’S SAKE!!!!! MAKE UP YOUR MINDS ABOUT THE CHURCH, WOULD YOU???????? Every time I’m here, they’ve switched out the church again!

We thought this display was adorable – they decorated the little German village for the Flower and Garden Festival!!! Little banners and trees and flowers!
