Jacuzzis @ Cypress Pointe

With the exception of the view, I can't imagine that 2 bedrooms vary that much from building to building, at least in the Grand Villa section. They are fairly new with fairly new furnishings, and unless the view or floor will make or break your trip, which unit you stay in shouldn't make that much of a difference.

Of course, everyone has different expectations. We always go in expecting nothing extra, so when we are given choice of view or building or floor or any other perk we are always pleasantly surprirsed. :sunny:

Awww snoopy thanks for making my day! I've never been a "queen" before!;)

We've never heard of anyone that was not satisfied with CP although everyone has different needs and expectations and that's what makes the world go round as they say.:D

You can't ask for one particular unit or building until your check in upon arrival and then they try to please you and get you the unit you would like. Also they allocate a certain number of villas that are available for rental from places like Hotel kingdom and yes owners do get the newest suites but there are plenty of nice units and if you're not satisfied then by all means let the front desk know. They want there guests to be pleased and "word of mouth" is the best kind of advertising.::yes::

I've never booked through any of these type of sites but I've heard that the rates are fantastic.:D

Oh hummmm.... I wish I was going right now.:D

I read a couple of scathing reviews about both phases of the development, which is what prompted my discussion with the manager. One woman said the beds were lumpy, the towels threadbare, on & on. I got so nervous, I was nearly in tears and wanted to go to Vistana but couldn't (I am an owner there, but had traded to CP bc I needed a large 3 br for our family trip - we had 4 kids & 4 adults). I was VERY favorably impressed and I was not even in the GV. Our unit was a delight. And it was unbelievable big, with a big screen tv in the LR, stereo system, all the extras. I'd go there again in a heartbeat.

And I wish I was there now, too. Did anyone see that fabulous Samantha Brown special about Disney and the holidays? DD and I got all depressed watching it...

Also, I don't know if you have seen this page, the differences between Grand Villas and Phase I:

CP Phase I and II

Thanks for the clarification on those few issues regarding hotelkingdom, etc, snoopy.

Yes, I did see that page with the comparison chart... the reason for my initial confusion and questioning the jacuzzi issue, lol:o

I'm touched by how helpful you (and everyone) have been!:D

Thank you!:)

I posted awhile back, right after our trip. We stayed in CP, phase I, and were thrilled. As others have already posted, in the 3 BR unit, one MBR has the jacuzzi (it's huge) and the other has the regular, but also huge tub.

As for hotelkingdom, can't speak to the service, but what I can tell you is that you will get what you pay for.... I had a nice chat with the manager about how they assign units. Best units are for CP owners (this is for CP and GV), next go to RCI traders (basically the same as the owners get, but owners get 1st dibs), next come reservations that come through Sunterra and other non-discounters, then come the people on Marketing stays (the ones being targeted to purchase), last, and defintely least, are those people who went through the deep discounters. Hotelkingdom is not going to tell you this. But I could not for the life of me reconcile the ratings that CP got on TUG and RCI with the reviews here and on tripadvisor, that's why I asked the manager for the real deal. So if you pay 50 bucks for a 2 BR condo, you probably should not expect to get the same unit as the person who paid $200 or who owns a unit there.

Very informative explaination, mcnuss. Thank you for taking the time to post all this.

sammi, you are such a peach for sending me all those pics! They look better than the pics on CP's own website! Thank you once again:)

Funny you all should mention "going right now." I'm apologizing in advance to everyone for not responding to this post. I'll be "offline" for awhile... we are "Skipping Christmas" this year and heading off to "the World" for our wedding anniversary! Staying onsite this time at the AKL and won't be back until after the New Year, but also look forward to returning in the Spring with a possible stay at CP.:)

Happy Holidays, and thank you all for your willingness to help!
:D

If you have a car why don't you take a drive up to CP and check it out in person? Not very far from DTD.

You're very welcome Lori and WOW you're going for a Christmas trip too!

Have a great time and yes do take a drive over to CP and look around.:D ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

Thanks, sammi. I think we'll at least take a drive just to see how close CP is to WDW; maybe even walk around. I don't think I'll ask to see the inside of a villa, however; I don't need to invite a timeshare presentation ;)

On second thought, maybe I'll ask to see the inside of a 2BR unit without a jacuzzi, just to see what they say:p

Merry Christmas!:sunny: :wave2:

I think that assigning the rooms based on some sort of pecking order might apply when the hotel is full, but we booked one night through hotelkingdom, and the next 7 through skyauction, and I had my choice of at least a half a dozen rooms. I will say that our room was very worn, stains on the carpet, paint etc scrapped off furniture, and the coffee table had a chunk of wood missing and what looked like ice cream melted into the crevices on the top. The lamp in the master bedroom had a huge crack, but we didn't notice it until the night before we left. At first sight, the room looked really good, but after a few days, when we were starting to spend the mornings at home or coming back for a swim in the afternoons, we began to notice that the room was in definite need of refurbishment. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again, but I would inspect the room before accepting it next time. We stayed in the GV section.
In regards to the roman tub vs jacuzzi, I believe it means the tub is both a roman and a jacuzzi, not one of each. It is a large, almost triangular tub, and with out the jets going then it would be a nice big soaker tub.
