Jacuzzis @ Cypress Pointe

Okay fair enough maybe I took what you were saying the wrong way - so I apologise for my less than friendly message! :)

I put it down to the language differences - it's strange how, even though it's supposed to be the same language, there are BIG differences........

Hope you find out the info you need - I've found that there aren't that many people who've stayed at CP - as opposed to GV - so I hope you get the stuff you need. To be honest, if you need/want a particular fixture or fitting, then I agree with Lewisc, if you get no joy from the DIS, ring the resort direct.

Anyway Good Luck with you request and I hope you have a good time whenever and wherever you go. :)

Apology accepted.

f-LORI-da, are you commited to staying in Phase I?

We went back and forth quite a bit on whether to pay the extra $25 a night to stay in the Grand Villas, and in the end decided it was worth it. After touring Phase I, I am glad that we did. The unit we looked at could have used some sprucing up and that was the model. I am sure that its fine if you only want a place to lay your head down at night, but we wanted some place that felt close to home. And we found that in the GVs - our unit was very clean and very comfortable, and we knew exactly what we were getting upfront. I think I recall having had the same worries about the jacuzzi as you did from the inconsistent information on Hotel Kingdom (where I booked our trip). Interesting observation that maybe not ALL have the jacuzzi's, I bet you are right which is why they have that vague information.

I do know that ALL 2 bedroom GVs have jacuzzi's, so if this will make or break your trip and you have the opportunity to switch to the GVs, I'd recommend that you do.

You know, this is exactly what I've been thinking lately. I haven't decided yet for sure where we are staying. I wanted to do thorough research before I booked anything and committed myself.

Thanks again, snoopy, you've been quite helpful. Do you mind another question? Did you have any problems booking thru hotelkingdom.com?

No problems with hotel kingdom whatsoever. I notice now they have "instant reservations" at CP and CPGV, when I booked with them there was a 24 hour turnaround time to confirm your ressies. They confirmed in less than that time, and debited my credit card accordingly. Now, though, the confirmation is instantaneous, as is the credit card hold.

I know this won't be helpful to you, but if anyone else is interested, we stayed in a 3BR GV. The lock off part (3rd bedroom or a separate 1 BR/studio) had a fairly large oval soaking tub (no jets). Not as big as the jacuzzi in the master BR, but good for 7 month pregnant me. :)

We stayed at CP a couple of years ago (2-bedroom), and had a jacuzzi in the master. The whole bathroom was open to the bedroom- there was no privacy at all. The unit we had was a little worn, but for the price (around $90 I think through Hotel Kingdom) we didn't complain. There was a large shower in that bathroom also. The other bathroom was close to the other bedroom, and just had a regular tub/shower combo. f-LORI-da - I'd be happy to answer any other questions you may have about Cypress Pointe!

It's reasurring to hear a good account of hotelkingdom.com. I, too noticed the "instant reservations" for CP & CPGV... a good thing. I also noticed that they don't charge a deposit, but require the full amount for your entire stay upon confirmation. Does this mean that the full amount will be charged immediately to my credit card, or is it only a hold, which will be charged upon check-in?

You've been so willing to help, snoopy; I appreciate that.

You know, this has been my other thought: Do I really need to have the jacuzzi? From the pictures I've seen (and the descriptions I've read) the Roman tubs appear quite luxurious themselves. Perhaps this would be enough to satisfy my need for a good soaking, lol!

Thanks, Gillian for the idea, and for posting.

Thanks for the detailed description, DisneyFreak43 (and your willingness to answer my questions). Privacy won't be an issue for us, but there's so much to take into consideration, lol:o

I just thought of a few more questions. I vaguely remember reading somewhere that coffee is provided complimentary. Is this correct? If so, is it provided for your entire stay? If it is, how is that accomplished without housekeeping? Is it stocked plentiful in the kitchen? I gotta have my coffee, lol!:o

Also, do I have this straight: there are elevators in CPGV (Phase II), but not CP (Phase I)?

These are minor issues, I know, but I'm keeping a mental pro/con list in my head:)

Hi f-LORI-da!:wave2: We have been fortunate enough to visit Florida for the past 9 years or so and have always stayed at CP and have always loved it each and every time we go. My cousins from the UK are owners there and we always have a nice reunion with them.:D

We've never noticed complimentary coffee at CP although you have a coffee maker in your unit with a start-up pack of coffee, sugar creamer etc to get you started. There is a great Winn-Dixie just a 2 minute walk from CP with everything you'll need for your stay.;) Also a great liquor store in the same plaza.::yes::

Yes you're right.....there are no elevators in CP but there are in CPGV.CP phase 1 is only 3 stories high.

I have some photos(we took during our most recent stay this past April) of CPGV and the whole of CP resort if you'd like to see them? Just PM me with your email addy and I'll be happy to send them to you.:D

I think you'll really enjoy your stay there as the staff and the grounds are really great, and you're sooooo close to the Mouse that you'll be there in just a few minutes drive from CP.:sunny:

Happy planning!::MickeyMo

We had a 2 bedroom and it does have a jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom. My sister was in the same building with a 3 bedroom, which is the 2 bedroom plus another master. The other master has a large soaking tub, no jets though. They did provide an intial supply of coffee, don't think they provide any beyond that, but there is a coffee maker. The winn-dixie is close and prices were decent. The master bedroom has the jacuzzi and large shower, but no privacy at all. Not too bad for a couple. The second bathroom is a basic full bath, but seperate from 2nd bedroom. The 2nd bedroom is 2 twin beds, with a trundle from one of them. The room is small, but would be fine for kids. There was a dvd player in the living room-suprised us, didn't remember seeing that in the listings. The rooms were a little worn and could use a refurb, but the space was fine and for the price we couldn't complain. Hope this helps with the questions, I know I like to have feedback from someone who's been there too. Any more questions, just ask.

After another look at the hotelkingdom.com website, I found the answer to my own question:

This hotel requires pre-payment of the entire room rent, plus tax. To secure your room immediately, the first charge will be a down payment of approx. 12.5% at time of reservation. The remaining balance will then be charged by the hotel at the time of confirmation. Please note maid service is not included in your room rent, but is available for a fee ranging from approximately $35-80 per day depending on room type

Thanks anyway, snoopy!:o :)

That's it! That's what I had read; a start-up pack of coffee, etc. Thanks for confirming that, sammi, and the elevator issue:)

I'd love to see your pictures, sammi! Thanks for the offer! I'll PM you with my email addy.

Thank you for posting all these details, Ahrizel.:) You mention the rooms were a little worn. You didn't have plumbing problems or mold or bugs or anything tho, did you? Oh, and thanks for the confirmation on the coffee situation. Yes, I too value firsthand experience. :D

Oops, sorry, I am just now getting back to this thread now. Yes, Hotel Kingdom does charge the entire amount on your credit card immediately upon confirmation. Its not a "hold", really, because it immediately is deducted from your available credit, or in the case of a debit card, from your balance. But the nice thing about Hotel Kingdom, as opposed to hotwire or any of the other cheap hotel websites, is that there IS a cancellation policy. You can cancel up to 48 hours (or maybe its 72??) before arrival and get a full refund. So while they have your payment in full when you make your reservation, its easier knowing that its fully refundable if need be.

We also received a starter supply of coffee, paper towels, toliet paper, dish soap. As other said, the Winn Dixie is within walking distance if one was so inclined to walk (we usually drove!). Their prices, at least compared to those in Washington D.C., were very reasonable.

I was going to tell you earlier to get in touch with sammi, since she is the person who really encouraged me to try CPGV - she is the Cypress Pointe queen! :) I'm glad to see that she has responded to you on this thread.

Best of luck with your decision, and again, I'm glad to be of help.

Nope, no plumbing problems, bugs or mold. Just in need of a reburb. The only problem I noticed was my sister's. They offer high speed internet connection, and it never worked correctly. They took it off her bill, but they never fixed it, and it was noticed early in the week.

I posted awhile back, right after our trip. We stayed in CP, phase I, and were thrilled. As others have already posted, in the 3 BR unit, one MBR has the jacuzzi (it's huge) and the other has the regular, but also huge tub.

As for hotelkingdom, can't speak to the service, but what I can tell you is that you will get what you pay for.... I had a nice chat with the manager about how they assign units. Best units are for CP owners (this is for CP and GV), next go to RCI traders (basically the same as the owners get, but owners get 1st dibs), next come reservations that come through Sunterra and other non-discounters, then come the people on Marketing stays (the ones being targeted to purchase), last, and defintely least, are those people who went through the deep discounters. Hotelkingdom is not going to tell you this. But I could not for the life of me reconcile the ratings that CP got on TUG and RCI with the reviews here and on tripadvisor, that's why I asked the manager for the real deal. So if you pay 50 bucks for a 2 BR condo, you probably should not expect to get the same unit as the person who paid $200 or who owns a unit there.

I booked through Hotel Kingdom last July, and was asked if I had a preference on building and floor number upon check in. I told them I wanted a top floor room with a good view and close by a pool, and that is exactly what I got. :)

I am glad you had a good experience. Others have not been so lucky! I think it is a good policy to also call the resort beforehand and let them know if you have any preferences.

We were in Bldg. 1 on the top floor, and our unit could not have been nicer. Since I am in a hotel at least 3-4x per month, and I get to stay in some very nice places, I am pretty picky!
