Jacob's MAW trip to WDW!! April 20-27

Sorry the surgery was postponed, but yay that it works our for meeting the wish granter.

Does he know that the wish granter is coming? Have you asked him what his wish is, and he said to meet Niki Minaj, or are you just worried he'll say something like that?

Sorry surgery was postponed.... But it sounded like it ended up being a good thing in the end. For Trevor we told him a few days before that someone was going to be coming to the house and he would be able to pick a wish. Anything he wanted. We had him write it in a notebook. He had narrowed it down to 3 choices before the wish grantors got there. They asked him a lot of questions and asked for a back up wish also. Can't wait to hear his official wish next week!

Brook was turning 3 when her wish grantor was here, They told us to talk to her about what her wish would be. At that time she was watching Mickey Mouse alot, so I just asked her if she would like to go meet Mickey & Minnie Mouse. The wish grantor asked her what she wanted for her wish & for her to try to draw it, lol, she was only 2 month shy of being 3yrs old, so her drawing was a few little lines. We had to wait until after her birthday to go, & they took a jungle gym as her second wish, just in case they could not do Disney World.
We drove down, because we could not fly. They rented us a car, & gave us gas money.

So we have had a few updates since I last posted.

Jacob had his surgery on the 12th. We actually ended up going in on the 11th because he can not fast. So they wanted him to fast for 12 hours and that is just impossible for him. So they admitted him the day before so that he could have fluids and not get sick from having low sugars. His surgery went good. He got his gtube placed and they started using it right away! He did good and is recovering nicely. We were in the hospital for 24 hours after his surgery and then we left the next night. Its working good so far. He is liking it and now says that hes the coolest kid on the block cause he has a gtube haha. I will have more of a MAW update soon. The last MAW update I put was that we were going to be meeting with our wish granters. They came...and it was awesome!!!

So Tuesday, the 5th, our wish granters came to meet Jacob. They said they would be here around 7pm and that they would bring dinner with them That was all fine and dandy but my kids bedtime is around 6-630 and we eat around 445 or 5pm. So eating at 7 and not going to bed until later was not my thing...but I didnt want to tell them no. Because...ITS THE WISH GRANTERS!!! They are like Santa Clause!! So they came and brought Jacob's favorite food...which was awesome. They also brought presents for Jacob AND Tyler! They brought a fun game for Tyler and some nerf guns for Jacob. They were both thrilled. Then we got to talking. They wanted to get to know Jacob and talk to him for a bit. We were just having a good time all around. But it was kind of akward because I know everyone was anxiously waiting to talk about "the wish!" so he wants to eat dinner and so the wish granters go sit at the table with him and then they start talking about his wish. He immidiatly comes out and says "I want to go to disneyworld!!" So he started talking about all the things he wants to do at disney world and all the other theme parks around there and all the stuff he has looked online and watching youtube. Now Jacob LOVES music. So he found out that the blue man group performs at universal and also phillip phillips will be performing there also next month and he REALLY wants to see him. So he was telling his wish granters all about that. So they had us put in 3 dates. So I put one in march for the concert, one in april, and one in may. If we dont get any of those dates (which im sure we probably wont) than we wont go until like september-october because we dont want to go when its really hot outside. Jacob does not tollerate the heat very well. So it would be a pain if we went during the summer. Although we want to go so bad. It just wouldnt work during those months.

So they were asking Jacob all sorts of questions about his favorite sports and favorite games and so on. Well he said he loves the coyotes (Arizona hockey team) and he said that his company has box seats to the coyotes. So he was going to see if he could get us seats to a game. So we gave him some dates and he emailed last week saying that we were able to get tickets....woohoo!! Jacob is so excited because we went to one game and he just loved it. The wish granters will be there too. So hopefully we know when we are going by then. I am hoping to hear something this week. Someone from MAW actually called on Tuesday and said that she was looking at his paperwork and that Tom (hubby) never signed any papers So she had to email him the papers so he could print them out and send them back. So knowing that she is looking at his paperwork I think she is working on our stuff...hopefully. They are closed on Monday so hopefully tuesday she will call. I can hope...right?? I am just so anxious to know our dates!!!

So I will update when I know more!

Oh I'm so excited for you guys - sounds like you are going to have so much fun and the Wish Granters coming over sounds awesome. He seemed to be so excited to tell them his wish.

So we have been waiting for dates. I called the wish granters today and he said that our MaW person is out of town for a conference until Friday! Ugh dont they know NOT to go out of their office when people are waiting haha.

yeah I am hoping we will know, real soon. The MAW person who is in charge of his wish is coming back to her office today. But we are going to give her until tuesday to catch up on work before we bug her haha. Part of Jakes wish was to meet Phillip Philips and he will be there in March so I just really want to know if he gets to meet him or not. Its next month and I need to get ready if we get to go, then. I dont have too high of expectations cause that just seems really soon and I dont think their turnover is that fast. But we are still crossing our fingers.

So I am trying to figure out what char meals to do. I was up so late last night reading reviews and looking at the menu. I have a very picky kid and a husband that cant eat anything with MSG. So it makes finding places to eat difficult buuuuuut I will find the perfect place to eat!! I think we want to go to at least 2 places while we are there.

I feel like im going post happy! haha...

So I thought I would get some things for the boys to get them excited for the trip. I am searching to find pins and I can not find them anywhere!! I have checked our disney stores here and one girl told me that I could probably find some at the outlet store. So I headed there today and got some cute stuff.

Jacob LOVES tigger and goofy. He thinks those are the 2 best chars ever!! They had such cute shirts but none in his size =( I cant ever find shirts in his size...buuuut I wont go into that. So I got him a cute mickey shirt and he was so excited.

Now Tyler...he LOVE LOVE LOVES cars...anything that has to do with cars. Nascar, the movie cars, car magazines...you name it...if its got a car on it, he loves it. We he just really loves lightning mcqueen. So when I saw his shirt with all the race cars on it....I just had to get it for him. He will love it!!!

Then they had these little packs of 2 pins. I just got 1 box because I wanted to see the pins before I got more. I will have to go back and get a few more boxes. THey were so cute!!

Hi, Britney! Your boys are gorgeous! They will have so much fun on the Wish trip!

I am sorry Jake has been through so much.

Wanted to mention that May can be very hot, even humid and September until the 3rd week of October is worse than summer. Many guests think it will cool down In Sept, but it has been the hottest times we have ever been - we've been every month except June over the last 30 years.

If it is possible, I would recommend late October - the Magic Kingdom will be decorated for Halloween and it is fabulous! It will still be plenty warm enough to swim. Whatever dates they give you, just remember to take it all in small bites and it will be wonderful! WDW can be a bit overwhelming any time of year, especially the more crowded months of late February through August.

You are doing a great planning! Can hardly wait to hear when you are going!

My hubby has celiacs, and we are going to Disney the night before we leave on the cruise. This board has a lot of information on dining with allergies to help you out. I hope you get dates quick our chapter was pretty slow. We met with wish granters in Oct and didnt get dates until Jan. Glad the surgery went well!
