Just wanted to drop in and say hi!
Definitely do a song for the cake cutting if you want.
We did The Beatles "When I'm 64" for our first wedding. (Great choice, Lacey!!) We plan on using "When You Wish Upon A Star" this time.
So, I finally got photobucket to work, so here goes the Pluto story....
It was Saturday on the ship. We were docked at
Castaway Cay, but since we had been there a couple of times before and we are not huge beach people we decided to stay on the ship. We were lounging at the adult pool and pretty much had it all to ourselves.
We decided to take a dip in the pool (again totally empty), but I happened to bring my camera to leave on the side so I could take pictures of the cool hot tub, since it has a clear floor and you can see all the way down.

As we are floating in the pool, Pluto and a handler randomly come out of nowhere. He was walking around saying hi to and goofing around with the few other adults that were there.
We called him over to the pool to say hi. When he got to the edge of the pool, he bent over and pretended to drink out of the pool. His handler started to yell at him! Of course, he looked all ashamed.

I mentioned that our camera was on the other side and could we have a picture with Pluto even though we were in the pool and very wet. The handler said sure! So we went over to the area where we could stand (camera was there, too) and got this...
It was one of the best random character gets we have ever had!!!
Oh Beth, I LOVE this story!!! This is one of the cutest things I have ever heard.

When I went on the
DCL, I was a semi-bratty teenager, and I was "too cool" for characters. The characters ALWAYS realized this though, so they would try and make me laugh. I got to dance with Mickey on Castaway Cay, and it's definitely one of my favorites memories.
*********************************************
Hello all! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving.
First: NWR Update (so if you're only interested in the wedding stuff, just scroll down! I won't be offended).
My Thanksgiving was all right, I suppose. The actual Thanksgiving Day was pretty good: we went to Maggiano's for their Thanksgiving meal, which is extremely tasty. I ate so much this weekend I'm a bit stressed about fitting into my dress! (I'm sure it will come off as I eat normally again... right? I'm too scared to weigh myself at the moment...). The rest of my visit with my dad was, in all honesty, just eh. He's kind of a lazy guy and doesn't really like doing anything, so we pretty much just hung out, but then he would complain that we weren't doing anything! We did end up going to the apple store and got him his first IPhone (because you really can't beat a free 3GS!), and he just played with it for hours and hours. He's obsessed with facebook, but he hates all of his facebook friends, so he would just read their statuses aloud in this squeaky, annoying voice. Really irritating.
AND, ugh, I've never mentioned it before because it's kind of personal and stuff, but my dad is an alcoholic, but there is an unspoken rule that there is no alcohol allowed in my house. He doesn't support me financially or anything anymore, so it's now my house, my rules. Well, I'm fairly certain he snuck some alcohol on the plane or SOMETHING because he was acting buzzed on Tuesday when I came home from school, and on Friday when I came home from BF shopping. I got really upset and pouted in my room for two hours.

I just felt like I couldn't say anything because he is paying for my wedding, you know?
So now I'm just stressed that he's going to pull something similar during the wedding trip. He comes in on the 4th around 7:00, so there's not much time for him to pull anything on that day, and we're taking him to Epcot on the morning of the 5th. He's going out to dinner with Becky the MaOH's mom that night, so I won't have to babysit him. I -think- (I hope?) he knows enough not to drink on my wedding day; he's the sole reason I am not serving alcohol at our wedding. Which just blows for me because I would LOVE to kick back some sangria, but alas. I'm most worried about the 7th, the day after our wedding and the start of our honeymoon. We are going to Chef Mickey's with everyone that morning, but after breakfast we're saying goodbye and going off to enjoy our day at the GF. I've talked to my dad (who is kind of clingy... he's really lonely), and he SAYS he understand that I won't hang out with him the day after the wedding, but I never know. After the way he was acting on Friday, I was THISCLOSE to changing his flight to make him leave the 7th instead of the 8th, but I chickened out. Chris and I are just going to keep our cell phones off that day. Becky is going to chaperone him on the 7th, and she's always been good at keeping him in line, ever since we were kids. So we'll see. Sorry for the vent; it's just something I've stressed about lately.
ANYWAY, so I figured I'd post a little about Black Friday shopping too, seeing as a bunch of us were so excited! I woke up at 4am, and I was at the mall by 4:53am: pretty impressive, if I do say so myself. I had laid out my clothes the night before and had gotten my coffee all ready; I felt like the crazy lady in the Target commercials. My first stop was Macy's, and I picked up a pair of Levi's for DF for $40. They weren't exactly the style he likes, but they were close, and it wasn't the greatest deal ever, but I've never seen the "trendy," non-classic Levi's for any less than $35. Then I went to Banana Republic, but the people were snooty and the sales not fabulous, so I left. After that, I went to BR's cheaper little sister, The Gap, and I was so disappointed: last year on BF, everything was half off, but this year everything was 20-60% off: so some things were better, some things were worse. I got DF a long sleeved t-shirt, a dress shirt for work, a pair of black chino's for work, and a pair of sweatpants, and a long sleeved open black cardigan to go with all of my pretty dresses. I spent a total of $110 in The Gap which, overall, wasn't atrocious.
I don't remember where I went after The Gap... maybe Boston Store? I got DF another dress shirt, a pair of... gray? I think? That sounds right? chino's, and a really nice Nautica sweater that I would totally wear (but it's not girly or anything, I just love it!). I also drooled over a Kate Spade comforter, but I didn't buy it. I think I might though. It's a lot of money I don't have, but I want it. Yes, I realize I sound like a spoiled little girl.

Total spent at Boston Store: $85
Oh! I forgot I went to American Greetings and bought myself a My Little Pony ornament.
After Boston Store was Aldo, where I got DF some really nice loafers for $40, originally... I don't remember, $80-90. Then I got myself a pair of mittens at aerie, then walked into Bath and Body and promptly walked out. I got asked three times if I wanted a bag, and I just couldn't handle it!!!
If you couldn't tell, my main mission was to buy DF clothes. I am sick of all of his clothing, and he never buys it for himself. The guy also has a really nice TV and (literally) every single recent game system, from the newest PS3 to a 3DS. The boy need clothes!
After the mall, I went to Target, and I was SO glad I didn't go to Target at midnight. They still had EVERYTHING I came for. I picked up some stocking stuffers for DF and some socks (he has this thing about socks; it's weird), a new blanket for our bed because Smokey destroyed ours, and... something else. Toilet paper? Of course, I went back to Target today and bought some more things, including a really fuzzy Target Dog stuffed animal.
All in all, a successful Black Friday. It's one of my favorite days of the year; however, it was semi-ruined by my tipsy dad and, when I got home, Chris hardly looked up from his Zelda game and ignored me for a good hour and a half while he played. So I was pretty grumpy all day. Oh well.
Now: Onto the wedding stuff!
Sorry for the long, NWR post, guys and gals!
I promised to show pictures of the folders. Here's a sample:
We also did take our documents to get notarized, and we should have all of the wedding license info in the mail on Monday. DF STILL hasn't taken care of his sheet music, but I am going to pester him into doing it tomorrow. I think we might also do the seating chart tomorrow; if not tomorrow, then definitely Monday, although school is pretty crazy right now.
DF has also bought the following figurine for his sister for Christmas, but he decided I could have it instead, probably because he was mean to me on Friday. Regardless, it's so pretty:
Ariel in a wedding dress with a little dog! Although, I do wish it were Belle.
I really can't believe I leave for my wedding in 38 days! Gah!!! I am starting to get pretty stressed out. My aunt STILL hasn't booked her plane tickets, and if they get too high, I know she, my uncle, and my little cousin won't come: that's 3 people out of my measly number of 18! DF's best man still hasn't booked a hotel, and his groomsman hasn't booked a darn thing yet. My mom also doesn't have plane tickets, but she's "looked." FSIL does not have the sash to go to her dress yet, and neither DF nor I have had a real convo with her in months. I am REALLY trying not to let it get to me, but it's hard. At the end of the day though, all that matters is I get to be married to Chris, and I get to do it in the one place that means something to me in this world: and I get to eat cheddar cheese soup at my reception. I'm pretty sure that's all I need.
Before I wrap this update up, do any of you girls want to do a Christmas card exchange? If so, PLEASE PM me! I would love to.
