IWatch Question for Verizon

Hi.
I want to purchase the iWatch Series 9 (or 8) and my carrier is Verizon.
The iWatch is $100 less at Walmart/Target.
Can I purchase the watch at another store other than Verizon and bring my watch to Verizon to have them set it up?
What is the downside of my not purchasing at Verizon?

You mean the Apple Watch?

I’d think the best place to ask for help is at an Apple Store if you’re close enough to one. They provide assistance for any Apple product regardless of where it was purchased.

You should buy it at Target and since Verizon is your carrier they'll help you set it all up. my sister worked at Verizon before and that was common.

Mine came from Amazon and the set up is pretty easy to do yourself.

I called Verizon they said as long as I have cellular but not sure if that is even correct.
Isn't it GPS or GPS + Cellular and the +Cellular is if I didn't want my phone on me.
I just thought the GPS was the watch I can use as long as my phone was with me.
I want to purchase from Walmart or Target since they are having sales and have Verizon set up
without a fee.

I purchased the Apple Watch 8 + GPS + Cellular through Amazon this summer, and was able to set it up through Verizon over the phone. There will be likely be a small charge to add the iPhone to your monthly plan, mine is $10 a month. You should have no issues buying the iphone and Target or Walmart.
