No, Obama stated that McCain is out of touch in new ad -The ad states that McCain is not computer literate and can't use email. And he mentions the economy and taxes in that ad too. People are interpreting this as if Obama is mocking McCain because it’s been said that McCain does not type because of his arms. I just heard this on the radio driving home on a local talk radio show. Judge for yourself.... Conservative radio was going nuts over this - this evening....

Sure he can probably hunt-n-peck, but care to guess how his mousing skills are if he can't tie his own shoes??? The bottom line is that there's probably a pretty good reason why he's not computer savy.

Yup. That train wreck of a campaign just left the tracks at about 100 miles per hour.

The new Obama ad says McCain "can't even use a computer" and doesn't send e-mails, so he's unfit to lead.

And here's something from the March 2000 Boston Globe:

"McCain gets emotional at the mention of military families needing food stamps or veterans lacking health care. The outrage comes from inside: McCain's severe war injuries prevent him from combing his hair, typing on a keyboard, or tying his shoes. Friends marvel at McCain's encyclopedic knowledge of sports. And from May 2000 Forbes.com:

Kinda makes Joe Biden's "Stand up, Chuck!" gaffe pale in comparison. At least he didn't make an ad — and run it — in which he openly mocked Chuck's disabilites. Good Lord. It's almost painful to watch these people. Almost.

I hardly think that I was belittling his service, rather I'm kind of shocked that someone would take this kind of shot. Quite frankly, I'd be surprised at someone his age being particularly computer savvy...just not indicitive of his generation. But if you already have the technology against you and you can't type (and if you can't comb your hair...think of how long it would take you to peck out this post)...why would you think that he'd send e-mails? It just seemed like a really cheap shot to me.

I heard something about it on CNN today. Just a passing reference. I think it is just another poke at McCain's age, and I think Obama needs to be careful with that.

exactly.... they make all sorts of keyboards/computers/etc for people with all kinds of disabilities (from keyboards with extra large keys, to touchless systems).

in defense of McCain, maybe he just doesn't want to bother with it..... heck, my own mother doesn't know how to use a computer and McCain is older than she is....
