Well today is another sad day in my family. A few months ago I lost my Grandma Hazel (my stepmother's mother). This morning my Grandmother (my mom's mother) passed away. Her 4 children and several of her grandchildren (including me) were with her when she took her last breath at 5am this morning. This week was especially tough as her health had been declining but she suffered a massive stroke on Tuesday and it was a very hard week for her from there. We were all glad that she was no longer in pain but yes we are sad for our loss.
Once again I am faced with telling my 2 young boys that another Grandma has gone to heaven. I suffered several devistating losses when I was young but I can't help but think that these 2 little boys will experience so much more death at a younger age. Modern medicine is great for extending our lives but it has also increased the amount of sadness and devistation that we all experience in our lives. My children still have one living great grandmother and 6 grandparents that won't likely live until they are 18. My heart breaks for them that they have to experience so much at such a young age. I am grateful that my children have had the opportunity to know these wonderful women but sad that they won't get to know them more.
It is such a sad day

If your grans were Steeler fans, I know they've all gotten together! My mom was a super Steeler fan!
