I've got a different sort of ECV question?

Myself, my father 80yo, and my aunt & uncle, in thier late 70's, are going to be at BWV, in two studios in February. Dad, and my aunt & uncle are going to have an ECV each. Last Feburary, Dad & I stayed in a studio and it was a tight fit with having one ECV parked in the room. Now, this February we'll have two ECV's in one of the studios. We're wondering if there's somewhere, like the luggage room or someplace where we can park the ECV's while we're in the rooms? They all can walk to the room from the lobby, but they just can't go all day walking. Anyone have a suggestion or know if BWV would be able to accomodate us?

Have you tried calling the resort directly and asking?

If you will have a car - could you store them in there?

I figured this was a tough question so I went ahead and called BW. The front desk said that Bell Services would keep them for us. We would still be in charge of getting them and putting them back which is fine. It wouldn't surprise me to get a different answer once we get there, but I think we should be able to work out something.

Anyway, I just thought I'd post the answer I got in case someone else might be interested as well. I'll let you all know how it worked out when we return, for your future reference.

I know people have been able to have Bell Services store ecvs at other resorts, so I would expect BoardWalk would also not be a problem. So, I think you can trust the person who told you "yes' on this.
If you are staying on points, Member Services takes care of special needs/medical requests (which would include things like this). If you are paying cash thru Disney, then you can call WDW Resorts Special Reservations at (407)939-7807 [voice] or (407) 939-7670 [TTY].

You could store it in a car, but the ecv needs to be charged each night, which you would not be able to do if it's in a car.

Thanks, Sue. It's good to know that they've done this in the past. I'll contact MS and have them make a note of it on our reservation. I don't think storing them (all three) in our car will be an option. I don't think they would all fit and as you say, we wouldn't be able to charge them up.

On another topic, I seem to remember that the buses can only carry two ECV's at a time, is that correct or can they indeed carry three?

doesn't apply to your situation, since it sounds like you're using the busses, but...you can rent a separate charger which would stay in the room (walker charged $10 for a 4 day rental), and then only the batteries would have to be brought into the room to be charged. But the batteries are heavy and i wouldn't have been able to get them into the room if i didn't have my rollator to push them on.

No, you are correct. They can carry 2 ecvs, 2 wheelchairs or an ecv and a wheelchiar.
I don't have any links here, but if you go to the FAQs at the top of this board, there is information about bus transportation, including how to arrange for pick up if you have a party of more than 2 ecvs/wheelchairs.
Staying at BW, you will be able to take a boat or roll to 2 parks without getting on a bus (Epcot and MGM).
