I've finally used my 11 month window...

Too friggin' funny.

We sold some SSR to buy our beloved BWV in 2005 or 2006 and despite my excitement I have never used my window at either resort. (Oh the continues. I used it to book two days for someone else) We lost points to break even financially. And I was beginning to think, "will I ever use a 7-11 month?"

Well, today I used the 11 month to the minute at 9AM to start booking NYE week. Snagged a BW view studio. What a time to finally use the window.

Never thought I would be a planner. Never.

Congratulations on getting a BW-view -- that will be awesome -- I hope you have enough leisure time built in to enjoy the view. I try to take it easy but DW has us on the go all the time.

Using 11-month window also today at SSR and I forgot to call at 9 am but called at 11:30 am and got the 1st day of our NYE trip.

A couple of summers ago I eavesdropped on two men at BCV. Conversation on a beautiful summer day, midday:

A: Whatcha going to do now?

B: I think I'll take a walk down to Hurricane Hannas and have a drink. What about you?

A: A nap. I think I'll take a nap.

Love it! Napping and drinking. My two favourite activities at WDW.

Oh and if it's bball time, I have three.

And Bobbi, I've stayed at BWV twice and both times standard view. Regardless of the savings in points I prefer that choice over preferred (reg. preferred). It's so peaceful. And both times we've played soccer and thrown the football out on the front lawn.

Last time the room was in such a nice location, beside that famous room, that I was shocked that it was standard.

Do you always book standard? I just love it.

At first, I thought of trying for a Boardwalk view. DH and I are not late night people, and I think the Boardwalk will be hopping on NYE, so I'm hoping we get a standard view far from the crowds and elevators

This NYE visit is truly "my" idea. It's the extra firework displays that are calling me. WDW already has me jaded, I don't bother going to fireworks locally, I keep saying..."is that all there is?"

When DH and I were first married, it was my idea to do Times Square on NYE our first year of marriage...it's taken us 40 years to get over that experience and now we're heading for another crowded venue for NYE. '08 is our 40th Anniversary year, and we're doing lots of special things this year, and I just thought it would be a great way to end our celebration. Unless, of course, we become like Disney, and celebrate our special year for 18 months or more

I'm great . How 'bout you?

We have 200 BWV points and last year's point usage was only 70 points for a SV Studio over NYE (we went to Asia instead of WDW last summer), so I had a bunch of points banked forward. We're "breaking the bank" this year ... a 1BR at BW and a Savannah View 1BR at AKV for our summer trip. I think that we will become very spoiled!

We also got our 12/30 night this morning at about 9:05 .
