We just returned from our Honeymoon and my wife had never been. She was expecting a "Six Flags" experience and was in complete awe. She's already asked for time off in May for our Anniversary and she actually cried when we left....she couldn't stand to leave. They treated us great for our Honeymoon too, champaign at dinners, special cakes and surprises...I need to do a trip report.

Plus, my wife said that Epcot had changed her. She had always disliked people from Japan after all the WWII stories and movies she saw. After visiting the countries (she walked us 3 times around World Showcase) she said she now liked the people and had a new respect for them. She got to see how the cultures really are and she really enjoyed speaking with everyone...and yes she even got a passport and loved doing that as well.

We had free dining and ate until we were sick...Le Cellier and Cinerella's table for dinner was by far the best two. They let her have the fillet and lobster at Le Cellier on the plan with no problem, we never encountered any restrictions of any kind....it was a blast!!!

Congratulations. You've gotta love a Disney conversion.

Wow, thats so nice, so happy for you! I just turned nine years married and my DH is finally coming around, so its never too late!

Congratulations! My fiance and I are taking our honeymoon to Disneyworld in late November. He's never been, and I can't count how many times I've been, so I think you've hit it on the nose, he's expecting a "Six-Flags" type experience - I hope he's pleasantly surprised! You said they did all sorts of special things for your honeymoon - did you have to tell them in advance, did your travel agent let you know? I was thinking of ordering some special wedding cake dessert or something ahead of time for my fiance, but if they're going to do something nice I wouldn't mind a surprise for both of us!

I'm glad your wife liked DW so much!!! It is a very exciting place - a truly magical world. I, too, was expecting DW to be like Six Flags and I was pleasantly surprised, in awe, of DW. I talked about how I couldn't go to Six Flags anymore because I had gotten used to DW. For people who haven't been there, you try to describe to them what it's like, but they wouldn't truly understand until they have visited for themselves.

I know it was hard to come home, but at least you get to plan another trip!!!

Only 4 more days til we're in the World!!! Whoopeeeee!!! :dancer:

I converted my husband in 2001. He had never been and I had been about three times. We went with my parents and our 7 month old son. DH hates crowds and heat and was not keen when I talked about the Disney bus system.

Well, he had an absolute ball there. We went in early May so the crowds were low. It was hot, but not too bad. Bus rides were quick and timely. He loved the food and the character meals. It was a perfect trip.

Now he's the one who suggests we go. We've gone twice since our first trip, including doing MNSSHP in 2003. We had planned to go back in October 2006, but a month ago he said: "I can't wait until next year, see what you can find for this October." So we're going in three weeks.

I can't imagine life with a man who didn't love Disney. Thank God I don't have to! :love2:

The same happend to me and my wife. we gat married in 1998. We decided to go to WDW on 2000 for the millenium celebration. My wife had been at DL but no to WDW, and her visit to DL was many years before our wedding. She was expecting Disney afterall, but noting compared for what she saw at WDW, the only problem was that we only were going to be 5 days, and you klnow that we did not have to much time to spare. she was so into shopping at DTD that we have an argument of spending so much time shopping and not at the parks. At the end we manage quite well.

Just let everyone know whenever you make a reservation for a hotel or any dining and it will show up when you arrive....they like to know in advance as they will usually do something special.

That's awesome! I hope I get the same reaction from my soon-to-be DH when we go on our honeymoon in January. He also thinks DW will be like any other Six Flags!

Yes - tell everyone you speak to at disney about your special event. We stayed at BC for our 25th aniversary. We were upgraded to concierge and had the front and center table at HDDR.

Always good to hear of a happy surprise and not disappointment. Whenever i come across someone who has not been yet , I always try to make sure they understand itsa a THEME park not an amusement park. So happy to hear your trip was good.....I cry when I leave too. But then its happy planning til next trip. I am on my fifth one this year in less than 2 weeks!! :cool1:
