I just got a new computer and I backed up all of my songs from the old computer and I want to import them all into my new computer. Itunes only seems to let me import one music file at a time. I have over 2000 songs. Is there an easier way to do this?

ETA:
I don't like to keep my music files on the C: drive. I like to keep it on an external drive.

Perhaps what you want to do is add them (or their folders) to your library rather than importing them. That way the physical song file isn't moved (which is probably what takes so long).

Thanks. Now it's working. Before when I tried that it crashed on me. :)

1. Can you point the new iTunes installation to your external drive instead of its default (C:\My Music ??)?

2. Are the songs on an iPod? Can you sync from the iPod to the new iTunes?
