We were at AK late last week. We (my husband and me) absolutely LOVED this show. Our son got completely freaked out and my husband was so disappointed he had to take him out (mommy won that round). Anyone else love this or do most people think meh??

It's on of our favorites that we always have to do. And, there are kids that have to leave every show. I hope they don't change it.

DS fell in love with the movie right before our last trip and was so excited to go see the show. I knew to have him sit away from the seat back, but I didn't think it was that important to have him sit on my lap, as some people suggested. Big mistake! He was terrified and it took several minutes for him to calm down. He won't even watch the movie anymore.

We've always enjoyed the show, but advise our relatives and froends not to bring small children in. On many occasions we've seen and heard children were who terrified. I feel very badly for them.

'Its Tough to be a Bug'? More like 'Its Tough to be a Little Kid in this Attraction'

How old is your son? Mine is 4. I noticed the signs outside that said it could be scary for small children and erroneously poo pooed that notion. I've been on the boards a lot and hadn't seen much talk about it. I did really love it but admit I felt bad for my son. That first bug that shoots out with a puff of air was a shock.

You are right. We really didn't know better.

We found that just taking the glasses off so that the images are distorted helps sometimes. I know there are other sensory experiences within the show that may disturb young children, but usually it's the images coming too close that is upsetting. But PLEASE don't change this show...it's terrific....love those posters in the waiting area "The Dung and I" gets me every time!:rotfl:

We love the show and it hasn't scared my kids. But my DD's favorite rides are Dinosaur and Haunted Mansion so she doesn't scare easily. I do feel sorry for the kids that get scared.

I dislike the movie "Bugs Life" and would be very uncomfortable in this attraction. I can only imagine how freaked my seven year old would be. Then again I can't watch Ratatouille all the way through because the idea of a rat in the kitchen freaks me out.

Obviously I am a huge Hopper fan and I loved the movie. I hate to admit it but other than the face to face with Hopper, what I love most about the show is watching all the people getting so freaked out and screaming. Not the little kids, but the big kids and adults. It's 3D and about bugs, there is bound to be some creepy crawly stuff happening in there :scratchin

My DD is 20 and she won't go in it, she gets a snack and waits outside.

Ditto for us, DD has always found this show pretty hilarious & it always makes her list of must do's.

I think that's part of what we love about it too, the surprise, & maybe a little shock, factor. I love the queue area too!

We like it but we also do our best to keep our son (now five) from getting scared. He's seen it a lot, but I don't think he's ever been "stung" because we always move him forward. When he was younger we would shield him from the spiders.

Dislike it! DD was 4 the first time she saw it and she completely and totally freaked out and I left with her. She's 9 now so I think it'll be fine. Nope!!! She freaked again but we did stay. I can't say I really enjoyed seeing the whole thing either!

My wife, DD11, and I all love this. DD6 liked it until Hopper showed up. didn't totally freak out, but was upset and definitely wouldn't consider seeing it again (maybe when she's older). She made it to the end.

Fantasmic OTOH was 10 times worse. If we thought we could have left without injuring ourselves, we'd have been out of there.

My 7 year old literally ran out of the theatre, crying. We hated it. It's the only thing at WDW we won't do again.
