We need to be in the AB section because we have 3 kids (7,5,2).

We were suppose to be in AB too because we had 5 people in our party. Unfortunately, they were full and we got put in Magnolia Terrace with a rollaway bed. We checked in early too! I guess you just never know. :sunny:

building 27 is a non smoking but u could walk outside and smoke...they will leave u an ash tray for your so called balcony(outside your door)

We stayed in a non-smoking building, but as mentioned before, everyone just stood outside the doors and smoked. :sad2:

I stayed at POR 3 weeks ago and I am almost 100% positive that the renovations have been completed. Our room was great and the fridge was very nice.

Were you charged for the rollaway? I wouldn't particularly mind if we got put in another section with a rollaway due to a full resort, but I don't want to be charged $15 a night for it.

No, we were not charged. I kept a close eye on our room account because I was afraid that they would charge us. The rollaway bed was actually very comfortable too. I ended up sleeping on it the entire week. I slept better than anyone! :rotfl:

:rotfl2: Too funny!!

Nala, thanks so much for the pictures of our Home away from Home!! We love Port Orleans. Gonna show these pictures to my husband when he gets home from work. Great job with them!!

Now that said :rotfl: , I still love this resort! We will be staying at POR 6/29-7/6. Does anyone know if the renovations have been completed in all of the buildings? We stayed at Boardwalk Inn one year and when we went back to our room mid-day, they were working on the rooms downstairs and it was very noisy! Also, does anyone know what buildings are designated non-smoking?

Less than 40 days to go! :cool1:

Hi! We returned home on May 13th and there was no sign of renovations. I have read that they are all done. We stayed in smoking optional Bldg 18 and had a nonsmoking room. It was a great location, I would request it again.

We are going back soon and I am glad to hear that the rennovations are complete.

I just can't wait.

Diane

No gym at POR but you can rent bikes and walk plenty and probably jog if you wanted to.

All of POR was renovated during 2004 and ending with BLdg 14 in early 2005. Building 18 was done at the end of 2004. Did you mean that you couldn't tell that the room had been recently renovated? I've heard several posters rave about the renovations in the Mansions section but I've heard little about Alligator Bayou...Would you mind telling us what your room looked like?

thanks

We just got back from a wonderful stay at POR in the AB section, building 14. We stayed in the same building late last June, prior to renovation. There were new matresses, bigger tvs, bedspreads, a change in the tile trim also on the floor and in the bath. They looked pretty much the same, just a lot newer and little more crowded with the fridge, which came in handy. The new mattresses were very comfortable (Sealy Posturepedic) much more so than the one I have at home. We all were very comfortable on them even on the trundle bed. I think the pillows were a bit heavier and firmer than the ones we had last year.

I think what W21981Brick meant was, is that there was no sign of any of the buildings being worked on anymore.~:)~

Does anyone know if POR has Icees at the food court like they do at Pop Century? Believe it or not this has a huge impact on where we stay!!

I have a question for any of you POR experts out there. On www.wdwinfo.com there is a photo section for POR. Photos #57 & 58 show what appears to be one of the Mansion buildings. It is seen through a line of archways - each with a hanging lantern. I'd LOVE to know what building this is. I can't seem to locate the answer anywhere on the photo, though maybe I'm missing it :confused3 It is absolutely stunning. I bet it's even more gorgeous at night. If any of you know the answer, please post. Thanks!

Jessica
