We will be staying at POR in Nov and I have a question. There are 4 bus stops on the map and I would like to know if the buses start at the main lobby and work their way around the resort or do they have a different order? Would it be better to get the bus from the main lobby area to guarantee a seat or was there always room no matter which stop that you got on? TIA
The bus stops can be different at different times of the day. What I did notice in the mornings for any of the main parks is one bus will come from POFQ and then go to the South Depot (main bldg). It is usually very crowded then and proceeds to the parks. Another bus goes to the other 3 depots. However, after the morning rush I believe the buses will make the full sweep of the depots, some stopping at POFQ, then South Depot, and then to the West, North, then East. But, I also had 1 bus that went from POFQ, then West, North, East, and finally South.

We always got on at the South Depot and always had a seat but others at our stop were not always as lucky. However, we also went during a busy season - end of June.

We will be staying at POR in Aril 2008. Our first time staying on Disney property. We can't wait!!

I am making my resevations today for POR and we will be there for DD's 13th bday. Everyone says to tell the resort that it is her bday, however, I will be making the reservations through AAA, can I still call the resort directly to let them know or can I only deal with AAA? I want to make this super special for her, you only become a teenager once and she is my oldest and such a sweet kid. Thanks for any info you could give me.princess:

I would descretly hand the cast member that checks you in a note telling her of this event. Please be advised, however, that unless you repeatedly stay at this resort and have a personal rapport with some of the staff, I would not expect anything great from them as they have thousands of requests for birthdays, anniversaries, etc. We did get balloons for my husband's 60th birthday but the gentleman checking us in knew us from our staying at WL at least ten times. If you truly want it to be special for her, I would strongly suggest you order a cake from the bakery at POR and have it put in your room on the day. You can order flowers etc as well. You could have the card be from Mickey. You might request that balloons and a card be put in her ropom on the card (note) you hand the check in person. Calling them, ahead of time might not be taken as well as I have heard they frown on phone calls. I hope her day is magical.

Have a couple quick questions:

Can you tell me what to do about towels at the pool?

Do they have them there or do you use your room towels?

My kids want to do the campfire and roast s'mores. How many do they get or can you bring your own chocolate bars, marshmellows and crackers?

Thanks.

Beejie

I called mousekeeping and asked them if they could put some in my room. They did and they will put as many as you like in. I took 6 for the stay of the visit.

Pool towels are at the main pool only. When at the quiet pool you must bring your own towel, just ask mousekeeping for extra.
For the campfire, I have been asking for info on the forums for awhile with no answers:confused3 . Good luck. I are staying at the best resort, it's our home away from home.

I am not sure. I am taking 3 kids this time and driving so may have to stay at POP. I would miss POR. If I do stay there I will ask for AB. It really comes down to price with meals, tickets and if I want to go to US (did I say that) I will know within the next month. Hope I can I love it there and would love to do AB.

We are going for our daughter's 5th birthday. When we went several years ago (different disney resort) I had mentioned it at check in and the next day Buzz Lightyear had left a card and balloons for him! I was thinking about ordering a cake for the room or maybe at one of our ARD's I'm not sure yet. I would like something special. We have had each child's 5th b-day celebrated there.

You might contact www.disneyflorist.com and see what they have to offer.

I keep looking at that page, LOL for months now. If I do order something from there I'll get it for all 3 kids but then do a little something special for DD's b-day. I just have to figure what would be the best day/night to have a cake and if it should be at the room or hotel. :)

Has any one gotten a cake at POR before, what was it did you like it?
THANKS!

I'm actuall thinking of making my own basket and bringing it down with me. We will be driving down from NY. This way I can save some money and fill it with things that she really likes, like her favorite candy and maybe a tshirt that says something like "Today I became a teenager at WDW!". I just have to figure out how to keep it hidden from her. Maybe I will ship it down ahead of us. I really want to make this trip extra special!

I love the pictures! Thank you for taking the time to post them for us. Now that I see the beautiful landscaping I want to be in AB section.

My son's nanny and I both liked the elegant furniture of the mansions. Now what to do? Can we have the mansions and a lot of trees and lush landscaping?

Maybe just let them assign us a room and be surprised? Or should we request?

Thanks, April

Both sections are totally unique and lovely. However, if you really like the more elegant furniture, then the Mansions are really for you. The AB section decor is really woodsy. We thoroughly enjoyed both the Mansions and the AB when we were there. Remember, you can always take a stroll over to the other side!
