Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

Correct once you tap in to any LLMP you unlock the Tiers and multi-park booking. So modify away...

Dave
THANK YOU FOR THIS INFO!!!!!
We have park hopper tickets. I just got off the phone with Disney and was told: cannot book another lightning lane MP until We ENTER the second park. I was 99.9% sure she was wrong and I said it several times and she kept insisting that I couldn’t do it till I got to the second park. What kind of craziness is going on here? For all the money they charge, one cannot even get accurate information. She also kept giving me scenarios with Buzz Lightyear and I just wanted to say to her “isn’t it closed still?” Bottom line -thank you for all the information on these boards. I’m not on here often but after I got off the phone, this is the first place I came to look up information. 🤩

It really depends on who you talked to, and what their real job role is. For example if you ask a Disney Bus driver about how park tickets work, and what is the best value for you. You will get an answer but it will very likely be the wrong answer. Just like anything in your daily life at home.

Enjoy your visit.

Am I reading the below info correctly, that LLPP for Epcot sold out 17.3 days in advance for 11.24.2025? Are there really that many people who have access to purchase that early? Do I have zero chance of getting it on Christmas Day for Epcot with a booking window opening 8 days before our visit?

It's showing every LLPP for November 7 and later in all 4 parks all sold out at 4:07 on November 6. I'm sure that is a surprise to Disney.

I feel so out of the loop. Used to be a pro at FP+ and Genie+, but I haven't been since the LLMP rollout. We're visiting next week and we booked our advance selections on Monday.

1. When can I book an additional return time? Immediately when I scan into the first one, or what's the trigger?

2. And then I can have 3 at any given point? So let's say I use LL1 and then book LL4 for 9 PM. Will I be able to book LL5 as soon as I use LL2 and so on, even if LL4 is later in the day/isn't used yet (assuming I'm always at or below 3)?

3. Wait times can overlap now? But only day of (e.g. after midnight for that day)?

4. Are there any restrictions on timing, etc. when getting LL in a second/third park for park hopping? Is there still a 2:00 restriction?

5. How does tiering work? Does that only apply to the advance bookings? I thought I'd read that using any of the advance bookings (including a Tier 2) allowed you to book a Tier 1 for your next LL (assuming they're still available day of).

Sorry if this is worded poorly! Trying to convey my questions as clearly as possible.

1. Yes, as soon as you scan in to your first LL, you can book another. Just be aware that some rides have 2 tap points, so you won't be able to book another until the second tap.
2. Yes, I believe so. The 2 hour cool down went away with Genie+. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong on this.
3. They can overlap slightly when you pre-book, but you can schedule them much closer together on the day of.
4. You can park hop as soon as you scan in to the first park as long as the park you are hopping to is open. As soon as you scan in to your first LL, you can start booking LL for the park you are hopping to.
5. Yes, tiering only applies to the advance bookings. Once you scan in to your first LL, you can book any ride that is available, no matter what the tier is.

Can someone give my the quick info on the "burner LL".. do you have to actually use it or can it expire?

You have to tap in and redeem it. Make sure you know if it's a single or double tap LLMP. If you don't tap it won't unlock tiers or park hopping. It just becomes an expired LLMP.

You can skip the ride or attraction and leave the line after tapping.

There are a couple of steps in the LLMP process. First you need to enter the park, and then tap in to your first LLMP attraction to get all the functions of LLMP activated. You may not need or even want a "Burner" LLMP attraction if you just plan to get to your selected park early. Once you tap in to your first LLMP attraction, you get all the benefits, and don't need to worry about a "Burner" LLMP.

Some guests swear by them, and others just swear at them. I always suggest you just book your (3) initial LLMP attractions, and enjoy them as your visit the park.

It is simply a low priority LLMP attraction that you book as your first LLMP in the morning. Once you tap in at this attraction or ask the CM at the tap point to help you, the CM will know if there is a second Tap point beyond the entrance.

If you let is just expire then you can't unlock Multi-park selections or unlock the tiers. You can just replace it with another LLMP attraction in the same tier.

So, I have a weird question. I apologize if this has been answered, but I haven't (yet) read through all 286 pages of this awesome thread!

I'm arriving at WDW on August 31, and staying at All Star Sports for three nights. I have a 14 day Magic Ticket that's good for 18 calendar days from the start. After 4 days of WDW parks, I'm doing other parks and checking into a different hotel for the rest of the trip. But I'm coming back to both Disney Studios and Epcot for separate days a week or more later, for their after hours parties. And I'll also spend the rest of the days at those parks, while I'm there, since I have 14 days available on my Magic Ticket.

I know that I can get Lightning Lane Multi Passes for the first 4 days of my stay starting 7 days before my arrival day, since I'm booked into the hotel. But what I'm wondering about is those later days that will be using the same 14 day ticket.

My Disney studios day is on the 13th day including arrival. My Epcot day is on the 17th day including arrival. Is there any chance that I would be able to book LLMP for either or both of those days on the 7th day before my arrival, along with the other ones? Or do I have to wait for 3 days before those days, since I'm not staying on property on those days? Does their system consider the whole ticket to be during an on property stay, since I'm starting on property? Or does it check for each individual day?

Your onsite stay only includes the days you are actually staying onsite, including check-in and checkout days. It does not include days where you are staying offsite even if you are using the same ticket. So, you will not be able to book those later party days seven days before your check-in date.

However, I don't think you'll have to wait until three days before the individual party days. Doesn't your 14-day ticket have a start date? If it does, it is a dated ticket. See post 4290 on page 215 of this thread to see how onsite/offsite split stays work with dated tickets.

Note: edited to include reference to post 4290 to replace incorrect information.

Second edit: This answer is based on the fact the hotel you are switching to after leaving All-Star Sports is offsite. If onsite, different answer.

Thanks! I was just there a couple weeks with my mom
But we started our days later so I be used the system successfully but this was one piece I wasn't sure about. The whole purpose being to unlock higher tiers as soon as you can.. we probably won't do this and just use our LL

Thanks for the help, but I could use a bit more clarification. So, here are some specifics.
I have a 14 day Magic Pass (i.e. the UK hopper tickets) that is good for 14 park days during an 18 day period (8/31-9/17), dated to start on Aug 31, which includes water parks and mini golf (1 per day before 4PM) that don't actually count toward the regular park days.

I'm arriving on August 31, and checking in to All Star Sports for three nights. I'm visiting the WDW parks for four days while staying on property from August 31 to Sept 3. I'm also hitting the Mickey's Not So Scary on Sep 1 and the Hollywood Studios After Hours events on Sep 2 (as well as possibly Blizzard Beach and Winter Summerland Mini Golf on the 2nd as well), though none of that should affect this at all, since I'm also visiting those parks on those days and taking advantage of early entry. But I'm mentioning it in case there could be complications.

I check out on September 3 and am moving over to the Days Inn Orlando Conventions Center/I-Drive for the rest of my trip, since I'm mostly hitting the Universal and Sea World parks on those days.

On Saturday, Sep 12 (12 days after i arrive, and 9 days after my previous Disney park visit on this same ticket), I'm going back to Hollywood Studios for the whole day, mainly to take advantage of the short lines during the After Hours party. (I may also hit Typhoon Lagoon and the Fantasia mini golf earlier that day, depending on how I'm feeling, which, again, shouldn't affect any of this, but I'm mentioning it in case there's some weird situation where it does.)

Then, on Wed, Sep 16th, (16 days after I arrive, 13 days after my All Star hotel check out and previous contiguous park visit, and 4 days after the DHS visit), I'm going back to Epcot, mainly to take advantage of the short lines during the After Hours party. I may choose to hit DAK in the morning, depending on how much I managed to accomplish at both parks in the previous visits. But I almost definitely will hit Epcot earlier in the day, since I'm already going to be there and am paying for parking.

So, at 7AM on August 24th (7 days before my first park day and my check in), I can buy my LLMP's and make reservations for all four days from Aug 31-Sep 3, correct?

Then, at 7 AM on Sep 9 (3 days before), I can buy my LLMP for DHS on Sep 12, correct? Is there anything I have to do to make sure that their system knows that I'm coming back on that day and using the same 14 day ticket?

My big question involves the 16th. The post you quoted seems to imply that I can book LLMP for this day (the rest of the days on my ticket) along with the other LLMP on Sep 9. Is that true? Or would I have to wait for the 13th? Would the fact that this was 16 days after my arrival complicate anything? I know that you can only prebook all of your LLMP's for 14 day hotel stays. I'm not sure if this uses a different metric, or what.

Then, after all that, there's a further possible complication. (But I really hope it won't be!) I recently found some old tickets with some days on them. Guest services added those days as separate tickets to my My Disney Experience account. So, in addition to the 14 day Magic Ticket, I also have in my My Disney Experience account, a 1 day Magic Your Way park hopper ticket with no date or expiration. And also a 4 day Disney Water Park and Sports ticket, also with no date or expiration.

Is there any way that I can make sure that my 14 day dated Magic Ticket is the one linked/associated with this trip? I really don't want my LLMP purchase to be considered linked to the 1 day Magic Your Way ticket, especially if it could complicate buying LLMP as early as possible for the remaining three days. Also, I want to save that ticket for a future visit.

Similarly, is there any way I can make sure that the 14 day Magic Ticket is the one that is used when I use my Magic Band for park entrance on the park days?
Also, similarly, is there any way that I can make sure that that ticket is the one used at the water parks and mini-golf? I'd really rather not waste these days that I just found, since I'd like to use them for my next trip. (And I'm already not using the majority of the days I paid for with the 14 day ticket, but it was such a good deal - cheaper than a 5 day hopper ticket would have been - that it was worth it.) This is likely the biggest Disney trip I'm taking for quite some time, but I might take a smaller one in a few years, and could use those tickets. Am I better off just scanning the ticket directly in Google Wallet (or a downloaded scan), and avoiding the Magic Band for entry to be safe? Or is their system smart enough to use the tickets dated with those days?

Could there be any complications using the Magic Bands for Lightning Lanes with those three tickets in my MyDE account?

One last (hopefully, but I can't promise!) question: If I were to decide to stay on property for one night with those later visits (most likely for the Epcot day on the 16th, since the hotels are cheaper that day than on the weekend days surrounding my Sep 12 DHS visit), I assume that I could get LLMP 7 days before that stay?

I’m not a ticket expert so cannot help with those questions but did want to share that AH parties typically have little to no affect on daytime crowds in DHS or Epcot. I noticed you mentioned going to those parks to take advantage of lower crowds but I’m not sure you’ll experience that so if you’re choosing those particular days purely for that, you will either want to prepare for average crowds or, move things around to better fit your schedule, if other days work better for you.

Visiting a guest services window prior to center g a park can ensure your tickets are in the order you need them. Not sure if the order you see them in your MDE app is also the order they will be used?

Sounds like you have a great, full, fun-packed trip ahead of you!! Have a great time and for now, happy planning.

First, let me emphasize that I'm answering your questions based on what I've read, not what I've done. Whenever I've done an Orlando split stay between Disney and Universal, I've done my Disney park days while staying at Disney. You're reading Post 4290 differently than I do. Your first offsite day is September 4 (you moved into the Days Inn on the 3rd, but that counts as an onsite day since you stayed at AS Sports the night before); your 14-day ticket starts earlier. Therefore, you can buy/book lightning lanes for the remaining days of your ticket on September 1, which is three days before your first offsite day. You don't have to wait until September 9 or September 13. Am I 100% sure of that? No, but I'm pretty sure of it. One way to find out is to try to book those days on September 1. If MDE won't let you do it, it'll show what days you can book those days. Even if you fail, little will be lost by trying to book your lightning lanes on September 1. You don't need to get up at 7:00 AM to do it; do it when you're awake anyway. If you wait until September 9 to try, you may have lost 8 days' priority.

You'll have to prioritize the 14-day ticket. As the prior poster indicated, going to Guest Services is one way to do it. I believe it can also be done by calling Disney IT. There may be a way to do it yourself, but I can't give you a step-by-step on how to do that.

Yes, on August 24, you can buy/book lightning lanes for your onsite days. (That was the easy question.)

Well, I'm gonna jump in here and ask a question that I've seen referenced throughout, but not specifically answered that I've seen, and I apologize if it's been answered and I've missed it. Once you've used your first LLMP, does it COST to add a new one? In other words, once I ride Pirates and want to add on Space Mountain as my 4th, do we have to pay for those individually or is the cost for any LLMP after the 3 original covered in what you pay at the start? For example, for tomorrow (Dec. 26), the LLMP for MK is $42. Does it cost more to keep adding LLMP if you can get them or does will that $42 cover any add ons?

No, for the LLMP purchase, you only purchase (1) time per day. You are able to book replacement LLMP attractions for free. And as a reminder you don't have to wait until after your Pirates ride to book your Space Mountain LLMP. You need to tap in to Pirates, and then you are able to look for your next LLMP.

Sounds like you have a great, full, fun-packed trip ahead of you!! Have a great time and for now, happy planning.
Thanks for the advice! When I was talking about lower crowds, I meant during the AH parties themselves. The day times at those parks are mainly a bonus I'm taking advantage of because I got the 14 day hopper passes. (Before I got those, I was planning on doing other things early on those days, then entering the parks early for the AH parties. But now, I'm also going to hit those parks first on those days, mainly because it's convenient! ;-) I've used a bunch of different crowd calendars to come up with my planned schedule, and it happens that in most cases the parks should be slow on the days I'm hitting their AH parties.

But since I have 14 day hopper passes for all three chains (Disney, Universal and United Parks/SeaWorld/Busch), I have tons of flexibility. I got the Disney one starting a few days before the others, since those days should be slow at Disney, but also because the Disney Magic ticket is good for any 14 days in a 18 day calendar period, which covers my whole trip. No matter how meticulously I may plan things, I know that things can always change (especially with Florida weather in hurricane season), so I've given myself tons of options!
