Seems to be still on, I took the following from allearsnet.com~:)~

Port Orleans Riverside

Campfire on de' Bayou, a seasonal program at the Port Orleans Riverside Resort, runs from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Sundays and Thursdays through February 22, 2007. Cast members read stories about the resort and have sing-a-longs at the campfire site located behind the Fishin' Hole at Ol' Man Island. There's no charge and reservations are not necessary. Kits for making s'mores are available for $5.25 (tax included).

Sounds nice.
What are s'mores please?

Is there internet access here please to do my Virgin DIY check - in online the night before we go home?

Thanks,
Lynn

Sounds nce.
What are s'mores please?

Thanks,
Lynn

S'mores are made with graham crackers, a chocolate bar, and a roasted marshmallow. You use the crackers as "sandwich ends" and place the chocolate bar and marshmallow inbetween the crackers. They are so good and gooey! If you've never had one, you'll have to try one sometime.

Are refrigerators now standard in every room or do we have to request upon check-in ??
Thanks!

Hi! We are staying at POR for our first time in Novmeber of 2007. Kind of far away, but I like to be prepared! Any suggestion for good rooms there? There are 5 of us and I've heard that requesting building 14 is a good choice, close to everything, but is there a room to request in this building with a nice view, perhaps? Are corners good? Any other suggestions regarding this resort would help. Do I fax or call in my requests? Since we are going the Monday after Thanksgiving, I'm afraid that it will be busy and my fax will get lost in the shuffle. Any advice? Thanks very much!

We had them the last two times without having to request them . I don't know if they are in all rooms or we just got lucky both times. :)

Has anyone recently used ME while staying at POR? If so, how many other resorts were on your ME bus? Is POR among the first or last stops when you're going to/from MCO? TIA!

I am pretty sure they made the fridges standard at all MODS in 2005.

Hi Lynn,

Yes, they do have complimentary refrigerators in each room. Although they are not very large there is enough room to store milk, juice, snacks, etc. We stayed at POR in 2005, and at the sister resort, POFQ, in 2006 and the refrigerators are the same size. Here's a photo (its from POFQ, but again, this is the same size as at POR) so you will have an idea what to expect.

There is internet access at POR in each room, but you will not be able to print. The cost is $9.95 for each 24-hour (contiguous) period. Here are photos I took (again at POFQ but the setup is the same at POR) of the internet access tools and instructions.

That is good that they are finally offering internet access. However, I think that $10/day is insane. I can see maybe $10-15/stay but per day? Sheesh!

Does anyone happen to know which buildings have the handicapped king rooms with roll in showers? Thanks so much.

I wouldnt swear to it but I think POR is the third stop. I think they stop at Coronado Springs Then POFQ then POR..... unfortunately ... due to the excitement level... it DOES seem like forever..........

You can put in a specific request by calling the resort no more than 3 days in advance. I have not done this but heard it will work... for now you can out in request for bldg 14, and will show on your ressie when they send a statement. Whatever you do, if you have small kids, try for a lower level room. We had upper floor and trust me, 60 lbs of deadweight being carried up the flight of stairs at 11:00 pm is no fun!
Ask for the side closest to the Main building.... cant remember the room numbers sorry, if anyone can please post so I can request on my ressies for September!!

The front of this bldg is 2 mins from the main entrance, the boat launches in one direction, and a 3 min walk thru the parking lot to the bus stops.

Thanks for the info!

Let's talk about Bob at The River Roost. : )

Has anyone seen him? Is there a place online where you can get his performing schedule? We missed him on our last trip, but I don't want to miss him again.

Isn't Bob awesome? We love him!!! I don't know when I laughed as hard as I did at his show! If you go to his website, which BrerMom has posted, you can sign up to receive his monthly schedule. He lists everywhere he will be for the entire month, including days off for vacations. You can also order CD's of his work. We plan to include him in all of our future trips as well! :thumbsup2
