Okay, the thing is you have to call POR resort DIRECTLY !!
You have to call the resort and ask to speak with the front desk.

NOW, the front desk will be able to access your room reservation 3 days before your arrival, only then it shows up in their computer system. Prior to that your room ressie is in the main WDW system.

So 3 days before your arrival, call POR's front desk and tell them to please posts your requests on your ressie.

Again, I called and requested ALOT:
I want Alligator Bayou section, Building 27, A Corner Room with 2 Windows, With 2 dbl beds, non-smoking and on ground level AND I Got each and every request !!!!
My view was gorgeous !! and Bldg 27 is a perfect location to access the everything.

Let me know if you have more questions, I am a WDW freak ! and Love POR !!! So again, Ask Away !!!

 :cloud9: :joker:
Thanks for the info! I'm going to try to request the same thing..
Is there a Quiet pool in that area.
We stayed at POR a few years back ( can't remember what Building at AB )
and it was a walk out to Quiet pool.... it was awesome!

YES, Building 27 is also a very quick walk to a Quiet Pool. Especially depending what side of bldg 27 you are on. You would use the Quiet Pool between 27 and bldg 18 ( 18 and 27 are next to each other ).
I'm tellin' ya' ........its the perfect location !!

And to answer another poster: YES, Bob Jackson was totally fun to watch!!!

It was fun to get in late and stop in the lounge for a night-cap and relax and watch the fun, and his energy too !!!

Any other questions, let me know !!!

Putting in for my subscription. We're staying at POR Dec '07. We're finally down to less than 1 year. Thanks to everyone suppling the information.

I see we have coffee makers in our room, when the clean our room everyday do the restock coffee and filters? My husband and Mother in law are big coffee drinkers and will bring their own but if they supply why drag it!

Thanks alot Bellenbuzz.... We are staying there again this September. We were happy with POR this past Feb. We stayed in bldg 14 due to proximity to everything. We want to stay in the same bldg but want to get a ground floor room next time ( too hard carrying passed out kids up the stairs at 11:00 p.m. :rotfl: ) I will definitely call to try for a ground floor room this time!

We started planning our next trip at the end of our last one back in August :sunny:

We have been toying with the idea of staying at the Contemporary for a nice change. After researching the Contemporty hotel and looking back at our POR pics, we decided that we couldn't stay anywhere but POR!! LOL!! Anyone else
have this same feeling about POR? We just love everything about POR and can't imagine staying anywhere BUT POR

here's a question for all you wdw experts. We are going in December, 2007. Husband wants to stay at FQ, I want to stay in a mansion. We will be there for 8 nights. Can we do 4 nights in each hotel? How hard is it to transfer rooms, and what would my chances be of getting requests for 2 hotel rooms, not just one. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Splitting would be a great way to end a daily debate, but is it worth any/all of the aggravation?

We have stayed twice at POR, once in November 2005 and again in September 2006. We love it and the only way I see us staying anywhere else would be if we could afford a Deluxe and then we would be sad to not be at POR. We love the quiet pools, the setting and atmosphere, the food court is very nice and plenty of seating, we love breakfast at Boatwrights. And a lot of other things.....I can't wait to stay there again. :)

The search tool isn't working for me today so I will just ask if anyone has an opinion on PO vs. POFQ?? We are hoping to do a short Xmas trip next year and will no longer be eligible for SOG. Thanks!

I don't think you could go wrong with either one. POFQ is smaller and more compact (read: less walking) yet POR has Boatwrights and 2 themes (Alligator Bayou and Mansions). Both resorts have beautiful grounds! And they are sister resorts, meaning that you can pool hop between the 2 main pools. Older kids may tend to like Old Man Island a little better than the pool at POFQ, but both pools have fun atmospheres!

You can't go wrong. Look at pictures of POR and POFQ and pick the one you think you'd like best. They are both beautiful resorts.

Man, I wish it was available during the month of July, I think our family would enjoy this.

It's too bad they don't do this year round, like the campfire at Fort Wilderness. It sounds like fun!

I'm not positive (and hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong) but I think this has been offered year round, I think perhaps they may be doing away with it come February.~:(~
