Taylor ham/pork roll is a very common NJ breakfast meat (best served with fried eggs and American cheese on a hard roll). North of the Driscoll bridge it is referred to as Taylor ham (Taylor bring the brand). Tjose living south of the bridge call it pork roll. If you go down the shore, it’s Taylor ham, if you go to the beach, it’s pork roll. I have 2 boxes in my fridge, Taylor brand and Shoprite brand.

Thank you. I am originally from New England (MA) , and never heard of it there. Live in MD now and definitely never heard of it here! I thought it was a persons name, lol!

If I am doing ham (and yes I know this isn't the ham OP was referring too), that bad boy is a honey baked. No need to even put it in the oven! And that bone, oh baby that'll make one awesome ham & bean soup.

It's Taylor Pork Roll, and when I make it I fry an egg with it, add cheese to the egg to melt it, and serve it on a toasted English muffin. It's a McStarry Hat.

Yup...I live close to the beach....it's pork roll here, always has been. The bagel shop in my town....you get your order and look at what they write on the wrapper....and mine would say....PECSP. Pork roll-egg and cheese....salt and pepper. .

My family is heading into the city (Manhattan not Philadelphia) to see my niece run the marathon, my daughter came in from Boston and is making Taylor ham egg and cheese sandwiches for all, smells great!
