June 29th, Day 4
Today was our planned no-park day. We went to breakfast at Bomas instead of eating pop tarts in the room. That was a tasty change of pace. We had great service again. Goofy ate pancakes like they were going out of style. I had frunch to drink. It was so good!
After breakfast, we got ready and made our way to Blizzard Beach. This would be my kids first trip to a water park. It was great. We found a chair to put all our stuff on and made our way to the ski lift so that we could ride the family raft ride. The girls loved going on the ski lift and looking at everything below them. It was a great way to see the entire park.
The kids loved the family raft ride, so we decided to ride it again. This time we took the stairs. Wow, thats a lot of stairs! Finally we made our way to the top and made our way back down the fun way. The kids giggled and laughed the entire way down.
DH and the girls then went over to Tikes Peak to play and Goofy and I went to seek out some more slides. We rode a few of the more mellow slides. Then the whole family decided to ride around in the Cross Country Creek. So we grabbed inner tubes and hopped in. This is unfortunately not a graceful moment for many people. I wasnt any exception. Ill spare you the details.
This happened to be DH favorite thing we did. Just floating through the creek, not doing much of anything. It took awhile, but was a great way to just chill out and relax. Most other people were taking it easy too, although a few we racing through.
After riding all the way around, the kids decided they wanted to go to the Ski-Patrol area. They rode the slides and splashed around in the pool some more. We got in the very crowded wave pool for a while and then decided that we should call it a day. The park was getting full and we needed to rest before going to Downtown Disney.
But before we left, we witnessed one of those shocking moments that you hear about on these boards, and I cant keep it to myself, can I?

Its also a really good lesson on why you should wear water shoes- even if they arent cool. We had just gathered up our things and were heading out of the Tikes Peak area when I noticed this teenage girl. She was sunbathing on a lounger, but she had the most disturbed look on her face

. She looked like her eyes were about ready to pop out of her head. In front of her was a little boy, maybe 3 at the oldest. He had decided that her chair was the perfect place to go to the bathroom. So he did, right there, on her chair. And she was paralyzed with this look of disgust that only a teenage girl can make. At that moment, I decided that water shoes were cool.
We went back to the hotel and ate lunch at Mara. It was good, nothing spectacular. DH grabbed zebra domes as his dessert. The kids all got Mickey rice krispie treats.
We hung out in the room for a while. Looked out on our balcony. No animals. The kids watched The Suite Life of Zach and Cody. We all took a little nap and then it was time for the girls to get ready to go to Downtown Disney.
Poor Goofy did not want to have to sit around while the girls went to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, so DH and him went and did guy things. The girls and I wished them well, and then hopped on the DTD bus. We were really early for our appointment, so we wandered around and looked in Christmas store and the toy store. The girls loved the spitting Stitch outside of the World of
Disney store.
We made our way over towards the end that Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique was in so that I could take some before pictures of them.
I was really excited to take them here. I had made them appointments when they first opened because I knew how much they would love it. I went ahead and got the castle package and told the girls that the dress would also be their Halloween costumes. They were fine with that.
When we went into the World of Disney store we were greeted to a huge crowd of little girls and their families. We waited in line to check-in where we received our royal pager and brochures for the girls to decide how they were going to get their hair done. However, there was a little snafu. Although they had Minnies name for a reservation, they did not have her name printed out for a brochure. This should have been a sign.
There were tons of people peeking in the boutique. Lots of parents who wanted to get their girls in as walk ups, but they werent taking any. It was a zoo.
We wandered around the World of Disney store and looked for a dress for Tinks American Girl doll so she could dress up too. Tink also found some pirate Mickey ears that she had to have and Minnie found a stuffed Stitch that she wanted. Of course, the royal pager went off before I had a chance to pay, but they told me that I could just bring it with me and pay for it when I paid for everything else.
They introduced the girls to their fairy godmothers for the afternoon and ushered them back into the dressing room. One of the fairy godmothers asked if they were both supposed to have Belle dresses. No, Tink has Belle, Minnie has Ariel. So they grab Minnies dress and go and find an Ariel dress for her. They told Minnie that they had forgotten some pixie dust and they would bring back her dress in a minute.
In the meantime, they opened Tinks dress. She jumped and clapped over her dress. We went ahead and got her dressed so that her fairy godmother could start. Minnie and I sat and waited for them to return with the correct dress. Finally, they did and Minnie was delighted.
The girls had a ton of fun with their makeovers, and I took a lot of pictures so Ill let them tell the story for me.

This is my favorite picture of the both of them.
We paid and then made our way to the photo shoot. DH and Goofy met up with us here. The girls loved this as well. A pretty big crowd of made over princesses showed up while the girls were finishing up.
The girls were starting to get a little tired and so we decided to eat dinner at McDonalds. Dont all princesses eat there? We ate. It was, well, as good as McDonalds can be.
Tink was really grouchy, Minnie was sleepy and Goofy wanted to go shopping. So, DH decided to take the princesses back to the hotel while Goofy and I shopped a little. We went to the
Lego store so Goofy could check out the prices on the Star Wars Legos and make sure that there wasnt anything that he was missing. He examined the box for the Death Star Legos and tried to educate me in Star Wars- which is kind of a hopeless cause.
He didnt find anything he didnt have (other than the Death Star- which was way too much money), so I mentioned that they had a Star Wars section at Once Upon a Toy. We made our way down there and looked at the Star Wars toys. Goofy found two sets of figures that he didnt have and he spent a lot of time debating whether he should spend his money on it. Finally he decided to get both, after I prodded him a bit.
We walked out and he put his arm around my waist and gave me a squeeze. We smiled and talked about lots of things, including what he had been doing while the girls and I were at BBB. They had gone to Disney Quest. He said it was really cool, but they didnt have enough time to do much.
We decided that we had better make our way back to the hotel. He spent most of the bus ride looking at his new Star Wars figures. I spent my time looking at what a neat kid I had.
Next up: Breakfast with the Princesses (and not just my own)
