It's Pam's Fault . . . Updated 7/10 Chapter 7: DDs Princess Day!

I feel the exact same way. I actually said to DH yesterday that I wish we had more time before we go. I am just worried that the anticipation has been killing me for so long that when I'm there, it's all going to feel surreal.

Maybe I'm crazy! :rolleyes1

No crazy here--I think it's hard not to feel sad at the idea that something you labored over is coming to an end. And let's face it, the planning is half the fun!

:dance3: Yep, it's 3 days to go!!! :dance3: Things are getting pretty exciting here in the Kanga household. The kids are acting like they've eaten a whole box of Trix cereal. Being a first-timer, I didn't realize the sugar like effect of an impending Disney trip.

I'm on a little high myself because the last big thing that needed to get done (other than packing) is complete! As I mentioned in my itinerary description. All the girls--Me, DD4, DM, DSis, DMIL, DAunt & DAunt's sister are going to CRT for lunch. Being the planning-nut that I am at this point, I came up with the idea of wearing matching shirts for our photo/lunch.

This is where being in a big group gets tricky. First, I found some cute polos on Disney shopping, but they don't come in the right sizes for everyone. Then I considered just doing t-shirts, but DM said that t-shirts were "not flattering." Finally, I was rescued by my dear friend who is known as Pinkie on the DIS boards.

Pinkie suggested that I buy plain polo shirts and she would embroider them on her super-duper embroidery machine! :thumbsup2 DD4 is going to dress as a princess, so DAunt suggested that we would look like her "Fairy Godmothers," I found an embroidery design and here is the finished product:

IMG_1597.jpg

Each of our names (at least what DD calls us will be below the design).
We also did one for DDprincess: to change into after lunch:

IMG_1599.jpg

It will have her name at the bottom as well.

On other fronts, the packing continues and I am about half-way through! As Amber said earlier . . . somebody pinch me!!!

Wow great shirts! You have soo much creativity I am jealous!
I cant wait to see what you do with a trippie.

How adorable - I loooove the shirts! You will be sharing pics of this fantastic meal, right? :goodvibes

Wow great shirts! You have soo much creativity I am jealous!
I cant wait to see what you do with a trippie.

Thanks! I am much better at coming up with ideas than actually making anything. LOL! Fortunately, I have some very talented friends and family members and the great inspiration of the DIS. Just think what you'll come up with in the next 6 months!!!

How adorable - I loooove the shirts! You will be sharing pics of this fantastic meal, right? :goodvibes

Absolutely!!! Did I mention that I am also an obsessive compulsive scrapbooker? There will be two doting grandmothers, two aunts, and of course me clicking away. DD will have her own paparazzi! ;) (We really need a smiley with a camera).

BTW, DM has noted your recommendations on her itinerary--thanks!

love the shirts!!! can't wait to see the group shot!!!

love the shirts!!! can't wait to see the group shot!!!

Thanks! I apologize in advance for anyone behind us in line waiting for their photo with Cindy. We will definitely be "one of those" groups. "Okay, first Cindy with DD, then Kanga, DD, DM, DMIL, okay now the whole group . . . "

Great pre-TR! I hope you all have a WONDERFUL time in WDW!

I can't wait to read your TR when you get back! :surfweb:

Thanks Michelle! I'll be looking for some more of yours when we get back!

Well, everything is packed, the kids went to sleep easily which was a shocker, and I am planning to head off to bed myself in a few, but I wanted to thank all of you for all of your help over the last few months. I can't wait to put all your good advice to work tomorrow!!!! Does anyone else have that song in their head . . . "Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love ya, tomorrow--it's only a day away!" Maybe it's just me . . . or my curly hair.

For anyone traveling this week, I hope everything goes smoothly!

If you recognize any of my crew from my pre-trip, be sure to say "hi" and if you don't recognize us, I'll be the lady being forced onto Magical Express on Sunday morning screaming, "No, you can't make me go!"

I just have to close my "pre-trip" with a very special moment for me. I went to check on the kiddies as I always do before I go to bed and this is what I saw in DDs room . . .

IMG_1600.jpg

It just makes all the months of planning so worthwhile.

Kanga! Have FUN! I had no idea you had such a huge cast of characters - off to read your whole report!!!!

Oh - that pic is priceless - Becca is sitting with me and just said "Princess and Mickey are sleeping...."

Mom always found a way to swing a day trip to Riverside Park (Agawam, MA) or Story Town (Lake George, NY) just about every year.

I live 7 minutes from Story Town (now Six Flags Great Escape) and my parents owned a motel in Lake George from the time I was 6 - 22. I spent much time there growing up!

Our plans are/were very similar! Can't wait to compare notes when you get back!!!

Wow!!! We're back and I think I could sleep for a week (maybe because I didn't this one) :) It was beyond fantastic and everything we hoped for! I can't wait to tell you all about it with pictures, but first I need to tame the explosion that is my house! The kids go back to school tomorrow, so hopefully I can get going on my trip report in the next day or two. Thanks again everyone for your well wishes. We had some great little extras happen and I'm sure it was due to the extra DIS/TGM pixie dust flying our way!

Kanga,
Glad you are home safe and sound and had a wonderful time. Can't wait to hear about your trip...especially the extras brought on by pixie dust!

The night before . . .

I was so concerned about my kids not wanting to go to sleep the night before our trip, but they were out like a light by 8:30. I, however, was not. I tried to go to bed early, but I just couldn’t get to sleep. It was like the night before Christmas or perhaps, in my case, the night before my final exam. My brain kept reviewing our plans and whether or not I had everything I needed for our trip despite the complicated spreadsheet packing list that I had already checked off. I finally dozed off somewhere around midnight and awoke at 4:30 am to get the troops ready for our 6 am pick up.

On our way . . . Saturday January 20th

We got to the airport in plenty of time and since I had already printed our boarding passes, we were able to check our luggage in a much shorter line. Note to anyone traveling on United out of Washington Dulles or wherever they have a separate check-in line for those with internet boarding passes—the line for regular check-in was loooong, we saved ourselves 45 minutes in line this way.

When we got to our gate, there were a lot of kids and Disney gear already visible. Our flight was on time and uneventful. DH sat with the kiddies and I sat next to a Mom with a college aged son who were DVC members. They were very nice and very full of information when I told them it was my first time. I had a peak into the future, parents and it looks good. Instead of the son handing his stuff off to Mom, it was reversed. He took care of Mom’s trash—yeah Mom! When the pilot announced that we were starting our descent into Orlando, everyone cheered. It was the happiest plane I have ever been on!

We did the requisite potty break and then headed down in search of the ME check-in. I sent my family over to the chairs to rest while I checked-in at what seemed to be a looong line. But it went quickly and I remembered that most people bring the whole family, so the number of check-ins in front of me was minimal. They also had plenty of cast members working that day and when the nice lady told me to gather my family and take them to the “red carpet,” I wondered—was this special? Were we going direct as part of the million dreams???

Naah—just a rectangle of red carpet slightly larger than a door mat that everyone heads to before the are put into their first Disney-style cattle chute. We waited longer than my family would have liked at the beginning of our trip-30 minutes for our bus. If I were to do it again, I think I would book a town car to Disney and take ME on the way back. (My Mom agrees, she waited almost an hour.) Since we had some time to kill, I looked around. The line for the value resorts did seem long, but I don’t think that they waited any longer than we did. The CMs at the head of the chutes seemed to have a method, but I couldn’t figure it out. They were just clicking away on their counter thingy’s. We were finally loaded onto the bus to POFQ and we scored seats close to the front. I passed out lunches to DH & the kiddies (I packed these so we wouldn’t have to waste our first precious hour eating lunch and because my family gets grouchy when they are hungry.)
DD4 & I on Magical Express:
IMG_1606.jpg

After lunch, while the kiddies are watching the ME video, I lean over to DH and review our “check-in strategy.” He will wait with the kiddies for the stroller while I march swiftly into POFQ to secure a front spot at the check-in line. We cross under this magical sign
IMG_1607.jpg

and I tie on my running shoes for the dash to check-in—just kidding, but I did gather my things so I would be ready. Everything went as planned and I made it to check-in very quickly. There were only a few people in front of me and I recognized my Aunt & Uncle waiting in the lobby. It was during the greeting hugs :grouphug: that I noticed Kim from the TGM board standing behind me. I thought we might be on the same ME bus, but I must have missed her during boarding. We hop back in line together and while waiting receive our Welcome packets.
IMG_1608.jpg

The CM shows me my room on the map, it’s room 4335 in building 4, not the parking lot side, it connects to my Mom’s and it’s ready—sounds good to me. I wish I had gone sans kids to check it out because it wasn’t very convenient to a staircase, but oh-well, we were ready to drop our stuff and head to Epcot for a relaxing afternoon.

On the way to our room, DS8 who often reads the boards over my shoulder made us all chuckle when he asked, “Where’s my key to the world? Can I have my key to the world? When do I get to use my key to the world?” Yes, no pronouns today, he used “key to the world” 3 times in less than a minute.

Our room was a corner one which was nice because of the extra windows and it was clean and spacious. Were it not for the large trees, we would have had a great river view as well. The kids did they’re ceremonial we’re in a hotel, let’s roll around on the beds thing and we headed out with my aunt & uncle to Epcot.

:sunny: The weather was perfect for an Epcot afternoon—sunny with highs in the 70s, lows in the 60s. We got to Epcot around 2. After we broke in our “keys to the world,” we started walking toward Spaceship Earth and I heard “the” music. I had read about it, but nothing would prepare me for the effect the Epcot entry music had on me. It was so motivational. I felt like anything was possible that day—I could learn to fly, invent something, run a 10K or at the very least walk briskly over to get FPs for Soarin’. As we walked by the entrance to SE, my aunt noticed that there was virtually no line and sent us on in while she did the brisk walk to Soarin’. SE will always have a special place in our hearts for being our first ride and we loved the night sky, but I don’t know if I would add it to my “must see” list for next time.

We met up with my aunt and our FP return time for Soarin’ was 5pm, so we headed over to Innoventions. I don’t know if it was West or East because this afternoon was just about doing whatever we wanted that didn’t have a line, but it was chock full of video games and DS was in heaven. They also enjoyed the Kidcot Stop here and DD spent quite a while coloring her Kim Possible communicator.

After Innoventions, we headed toward the Friendship boat that would take us to Japan. DS wanted to buy some Yu Gi Oh cards. On the way, we grabbed our first snacks—Mickey ice creams on a stick or should I say heaven on a stick! :mickeybar :mickeybar :mickeybar I thought they would be just like any other chocolate covered ice cream, but the chocolate was thick and tasted like Dove chocolate—I was hooked and so was DD!

It’s all a little fuzzy now, but at some point, DD stopped to see Belle, Princess Aurora, & Jasmine & the Genie in different spots between France & Japan.
IMG_1619.jpg

DS wanted nothing to do with the Princesses, but thought it might be cool to meet the Genie, so he jumped in for that one. Jasmine gave him a hug at the end and I think he melted just a little.

DS was thrilled when we finally got to Japan and though he wanted to spend every last dollar he had saved, we convinced him to buy one pack of cards for now and wait until later in the week to see what else he might like.

We had a little time to kill before heading back to Future World for dinner & Soarin’, so we stopped in France to watch Serveur Amusant. Except we couldn’t find it and my handy-dandy schedule said it should be happening now. France is not a big country in Epcot, so I went over to a cast member who was standing in front of the umbrella stand and asked if he knew where the waiter show was happening. He pointed directly across the street and said, “You see ze shairs?” in a very charming French accent not unlike the Veggie Tale peas.
IMG_1623.jpg

The show was great! Funny with amazing feats of acrobatic skill. Oh, yeah, the guy on top of the “shairs.” That’s my very own French umbrella salesman who I am sure is thrilled that I referred to his amazing spectacle as the “waiter show.” Apparently acrobatics is only a part time gig and he sells umbrellas during his down time.

The kids loved the show even more once DH got pulled in on the action.
IMG_1625.jpg

IMG_1629.jpg

As much as DH would like to think he was chosen because of his nicely developed muscles, I think the “serveur” chose him because of his underdeveloped hair follicles. At one point the “serveur” pulled out a comb and did a dramatic pause while looking at DH’s “hair.” He then proceeded to tilt DH’s head down and use it as a mirror to comb his own hair in. The scrapbooker in me cannot believe that I missed this particular moment but in my defense, it is hard to shoot when you’re doubled over in a fit of giggles.:rotfl2:

After DH’s World Showcase debut, we headed back to Future World and hit the new Nemo ride in the Living Seas.
IMG_1636.jpg

It was cute, definitely a good filler, but not a “must see” in my book. I think I enjoyed the little seas gulls who yell “mine, mine” outside more. They crack me up.

Next it was a little Sunshine Seasons for dinner. I got the salmon and for CS, it was great. Since I had already had a Mickey ice cream, I also like that they let me get a fruit bowl for my dessert. DD enjoyed some mac & cheese and I ordered DS the “make your own sub.” The roll was very chewy and it didn’t thrill him, so he just ate the meat & cheese, some of my fruit and the super-sized chocolate milk they let him get for his drink. A note for other parents, DS was very hungry at this point, so I got his food first. However, once I went back to get my salmon, I noticed that they had a kids combo that was not on the DIS menu. It included a pb & j Uncrustable and was in the refrigerated case near the salmon & chicken.

After dinner, it was time to “catch our flight” on Soarin’! I noticed as we entered that we were going to be in the back row and I knew from my DISsearch that we would possibly have feet dangling in front of us, so I asked the kind cast member if we could go to the next section. Ask and you shall receive, he motioned us on! We weren’t in the center, but we were front row and it was incredible! Wow, wow and double wow! :goodvibes I think this was our family favorite! DH kept saying, “this is so cool” and DD was beyond words, she just did that laugh-scream that I have read so much about. It was a great way to end our first day, so we headed back to meet up with my Mom, DMBF, & DSis back at POFQ.

The first trip report I ever read was Lexmelinda’s on the DIS. I learned so much from her do’s and don’t list at the end of each installment, that I am borrowing it, so:

DO --request a room “close to food court and stairwell” or bus stop or
whatever it is you want to be close to rather than a building number.
Even at POFQ, the buildings were big
--spend a relaxing afternoon on your first day—Epcot is perfect for this
and if you’re a TGMer, do it on a Green day.
--allot time for the shows at World Showcase—I wish we had seen more
of them
--end your day with a favorite or what you think will be a favorite ride

DON’T --take ME express to Disney if you need groceries or it’s your first trip
and you’re itching to get there

Up next: Early waking, MK morning, our first “dreams,” a dip at Doubloon
Lagoon, and dinner at O’Hana

Oh - that pic is priceless - Becca is sitting with me and just said "Princess and Mickey are sleeping...."

Thanks! It's just one of those melt your heart moments . . .

Kanga,
Glad you are home safe and sound and had a wonderful time. Can't wait to hear about your trip...especially the extras brought on by pixie dust!

Thanks for reading! I hope to have time to write about our first "dusting" tomorrow! ;)

Day 2—Sunday January 21st

Well, after a late night/early morning combo on the night before, I worried about oversleeping on our first MK day, so I set a wake up call for 6:40 am. It was completely unnecessary because I woke up at 4 and could not get back to sleep. I was bunking with DS and I could hear him tossing and turning around, so I didn’t want to get up because he would be up for the day. By 5, I knew we were too excited, so I asked if he wanted to get dressed and go for a walk around POFQ with me. We quietly got dressed and went off to explore. It was a cool morning and as we walked toward the pool, we noticed the steam coming off. It was a really cool effect with the dragon, King Triton and all.
IMG_1643.jpg

DS also stopped to check out the gator band and even posed for a few 5 am pics.
IMG_1640.jpg

Here’s a cute one of DS with the umbrella gator.
IMG_1646.jpg

I noticed his little button and thought, hey this is Disney World, I bet he sings or talks or something. For those who do not already know, this particular button causes water to squirt out of said umbrella. If I wasn’t already fully awake, this cool shower would have done it.

We went back to the room to check on DH & DD, but there were still no lights on, so a friendly neighbor who happened to be out on the balcony suggested we try out the arcade. DS didn’t have to be told twice. I grabbed some cash and we were off. They aren’t kidding when they call those little blue cards your “Key to the World.” I didn’t need my cash since I was able to get a game card with my key.

It’s been a while since I was at an arcade, DH usually does that sort of thing, but I was impressed with the types of games they have there. This Mario racing game took DS’ picture and displayed it on the screen.
IMG_1653.jpg

By the way, if you’re looking for an good time to visit the arcade with the kiddies, it’s totally empty Sundays at 6 am. After about 20 minutes or so, the noise level was getting to me and I remembered why I don’t usually do arcades, so we headed back to the room to get ready for MK with DH & DD.

The kids had little boxes of “vacation” aka sugar cereal for breakfast and we headed down to the bus stop around 8. We were heading through the turnstiles by 8:20 and I realized we had quite a bit of time to kill. I had read somewhere that the characters come out 30 minutes ahead to entertain the kids, but they were not out before rope drop on either day we went, so this may have changed. The kids played with Pal Mickey for a little while, but then started to get a little antsy. We didn’t bring a stroller for DD this day because we were planning on a short morning and I thought she could walk. I was starting to regret it, however because it would have given her a place to sit and wait. Finally, the opening show started and though we didn’t have a great view, the kids could see enough to keep them entertained.

They loved the countdown! Our plan was for DH to grab FPs for Space Mountain while I took the kids to Fantasyland to ride Dumbo. As soon as we started walking down Main Street, I really regretted not bringing a stroller for DD. She wasn’t tired yet, but her little legs could not keep up with ours and I had heard about how long the lines could be sometimes, so I wanted to hurry. I ended up carrying DD who weighs 45 lbs the rest of the way to Dumbo. (Wish I had an overexerted smiley to insert here.)

I have to say, in all my planning, I somehow missed that there is a second rope drop up near and around the castle, so when I saw the ropes on the walkways up to the castle, I thought it was closed off and I had to go around, but when I went right, I hit another rope and I realized that I had just added some extra carrying time, oops.

The effort was worth it! We would have been on the first ride, but since there was only 1 Dumbo left and I knew my two children would each want their own controller, we waited and went on the 2nd ride of the day! It worked out even better because DH got to Dumbo just as we were boarding, so I was able to pass him the camera for a couple of pics.
IMG_1660.jpg

IMG_1658.jpg

Next we went to bounce with Tigger and Fly with Peter. The kids enjoyed both rides. My husband who hasn’t gone since he went with his folks in the 80’s bemoaned the loss of Mr. Toad’s but managed to enjoy himself anyway. It was about 9:30 or so at this point, so I sent DH & DS over to ride Space Mountain standby while we went for a spin on the carousel. As we were getting off, there was a little girl who received some sort of Dream getting on, but Ariel was opening soon and she’s DD’s favorite, so we didn’t stop to see what it was. On the way to Ariel the sun was bothering DD, so we stopped and she picked out a cute Minnie hat.

DD was so excited about her new hat that she told the cast member at the front entrance to Ariel’s Grotto about it. He was so sweet. He leaned down and said, “Oh, that’s a Minnie hat.” Then he pulled a Minnie Mouse pin off his square pin holder thing (I’m not sure if this is considered a lanyard) and said, “I was just talking with Minnie this morning and she told me to give this pin to the next little girl I saw wearing her hat.” DD was thrilled and had me pin it on her hat right away. This was the start of a new Minnie hat pin collection. She ended up with quite a few.

As we entered the line for Ariel, I was surprised at how long it was already and that it still was not moving at 10 am. Apparently she had been open earlier and was now on a break. The times guide must have been off. We had a nice visit with Kim from the TGM board and her DD who is around the same age while waiting. The girls had fun playing around and talking while we chatted about what we had done already and what we planned to do. At risk of imbedding the song in my head and all of yours too, I have to say, it really is a “small world.” Kim is from the next town over in Virginia which I knew before we left for Disney. After seeing her adorable children again, however, I realized that we had met before TGM, in line for mini golf at one of the local parks here in VA.

Back to Ariel—it was getting really warm waiting in the outdoor line and DD was starting to wander off toward the water playground, so I was considering bagging the idea, but the line finally started to move a little after ten. Ariel was very sweet, talking to DD and even asked her if she was going to see Peter Pan and if she could deliver a message. DD felt very important and ran over to ask me if we were going to see Peter.
IMG_1665.jpg

I have to say, it was worth the wait for DD, but if Ariel was not her favorite, I don’t think I would do it again or I might have waited until our second day when I felt less pressure to get the rides in.

After Ariel, I called DH to see what their status was. They had met up with my Mom, Mom’s DBF and my sister and were getting ready to board at Space Mountain for their second ride. I was ready for a little break after my dash to Dumbo and standing in line for Ariel, so DD & I walked over to Toon Town and told them to meet us in front of the railroad. While waiting, I took a pic of DD in her new hat.
IMG_1666.jpg

We all took the train over to Frontierland. With Space Mountain under his belt, DS was ready to move on to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. We sat in the back of the train, but these conductors were all business and didn’t ask the kids to help them. I sort of wished I hadn’t said anything to DS because he looked right at the gentleman and said, “I’m sitting in the very last seat.”

The ride was a nice break, especially for Mom’s DBF who has problems doing too much walking. We rode BTMR. It was fun and the kids loved it. The troops were starting to get hungry, so we decided to get something to eat. We wanted to do Mickey’s Philharmagic after lunch before we headed out for the day, so we decided to grab fastpasses and eat at Pinnochio’s Village Haus. I had the Turkey Panini with grapes for dessert, which was good and could easily be shared by two people, I ended up giving half to DH. The kids had the pizza which they didn’t like, so they ended up sharing my Mom’s chicken strips. She tried their pizza and said she agreed that it was “yucky.” The pizza also held up my order, so if I were to do it again, I would probably get the pb & js or have them share an adult chicken strip. Even without the kids pizza, there was plenty of food to go around. It was fairly quiet when we got in line, but was much busier by the time we sat down. BTW, if you’re looking for cheap souvenirs, order a shake here for your drink or dessert. The cups are a nice plastic with a print of the castle, Mickey balloons, etc on them. I took DHs to the bathroom to rinse out and save for the kids to use at home.

Next we headed over to Mickey’s Philharmagic. It was terrific! We all loved it, even Mom’s DBF who wasn’t too into the rides. It was a great way to end the day, so we decided to head for the exit. Mom and her DBF went ahead because they had to go to the Dolphin to pick up their rental car. DH, the kids, my sister and I stopped in front of the castle to have a few pics taken because we had coordinating Mickey polos on in hopes of a good shot.

We didn’t really get a good picture, but we did get selected for the Family Fun Day parade. If you saw the 1 o’clockish FFD parade on Sunday the 21st, we were in blue and red Mickey polos in the tambourine section. I’m afraid I have no pics because we were all in it. I was amazed at the number of people who stopped to watch.

We were definitely tired after our parade debut so we headed back to POFQ for a break and some pool time since it would be one of the few days that it would be warm enough for our slightly-thinned-since-we-moved-to-Virginia blood.

While getting changed, DS mentioned that while waiting for my Mom near Space Mountain, he and DH got to play a free game in the arcade. I realized that DS had received his first “dream” when DH produced this:
scan0004.jpg

A free game—definitely a dream come true for DS. Now the certificate was a dream come true for me. Did I mention that I LOVE scrapbooking and free souvenirs?

The pool at POFQ did not disappoint. The kids had a great time sliding down the dragon’s tongue.
IMG_1671.jpg

I even left the kids with DH for a while so I could test out the spa. It felt great after a busy morning. After a nice hot shower, I was more than ready for dinner at O’Hana.

Yum! Dinner at O’Hana was both delicious and fun. The kids had a great time doing the coconut races
IMG_1674.jpg

and the maraca parade
IMG_1678.jpg

and we all loved the food. I think DD ate her weight in shrimp that night, DH loved the pork, DSis and I loved the turkey & the potatoes, DAunt loved the sausage and I’m sure there was someone who liked the steak, too. And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, they brought out dessert. The pineapple bread pudding with the caramel banana sauce was to die for. It was a great end to our second day and was by far the best food we ate all week! :thumbsup2

With such an early morning, everyone was ready for bed shortly after we got back to POFQ. I tucked everyone in, including DH and just took a few moments to unwind and write down some notes for my next visit and my TR . . .

DO: --get to MK early, but bring some things for the kids to do while you
are in line
--go to MK on a morning when you don’t have to rush to see the
opening show from a better vantage point
--spend some time wandering around your resort even if it is at 5 am.
This was a special time for DS & I
--bring a stroller if you have a 4/5 year old who tires easily or if you do
not want to move at a 4/5 year old pace
--bring quick breakfast foods if you want to get to rope drops. The
food court did not start serving anything other than muffins until 7 am
which would have made for a tighter time schedule.
--check what time Ariel’s Grotto opens and get there early if it’s
important to you. We lined up at 9:45 on a Sunday and waited a
while. I can only imagine what the line is like during peak times.
--get important photopass pictures taken at several different times.
The kids were not into being still by the time we got our picture taken in
front of the castle and the sun was very bright, so they did not come
out great. I wish we had looked at them and had them taken again.
--Mickey’s Philharmagic! DH & DD ended up doing it again with my
in-laws and found it great both times!
--make an dinner ADR at O’Hana!

DON’T: --expect to sleep in on your first day at Disney
--do Ariel’s Grotto unless it’s a must see for someone in your family,
it’s very time consuming for only one character’s signature
--get your picture taken when the sun is in your eyes if you can helpit
--get the pizza at PVH

Up next: Epcot, Garden Grill, another “dream,” and Le Cellier--just me & DH
