My phone rang Tuesday and it was a representative from the Dream Factory. My daughter has been approved for her Dream Trip to Orlando July 5-11. Not much time to plan and I love planning out trips.
Here's our family:

Our family leader is Jim, my rock and father to our brood. He has never been to Disney and has always wanted to go. Due to medical expenses, we have never been able to take the kids. Then there’s me. I’m Laura and am the planner. I spent 4 hours in WDW when my high school choir competed in Orlando in 1988.

KC is our Wish Kid. She’s 16 and has Juvenile Spondyloarthritis and Amplified Pain Syndrome. It was a long road to get her diagnosed and an even longer road to get the right medications to let her live a semi-normal life. If you look at her, she looks healthy. Don’t let it fool you. She spends many days in great pain, with joint swelling and trouble even moving. But she still lights up a room when she enters it. She hasn’t been to WDW, but did have a day at Universal with her Marching Band in January when they competed in Florida. Her passion is playing the Marimba. She loves it, even though holding the mallets is hard and causes pain in her hands. Her big wish is to be chosen by a wand at Olivander’s.

G is our oldest and is 21. He’s never been to Florida. He loves all things Star Wars and Avengers, and introduced the rest of the family to Harry Potter. He is a full time college student and works full time.
A is 18 and graduates from high school in two weeks! She got the experience of three days at WDW a few years ago with her high school choir when they were there performing. She is a volunteer coach and works as nanny.

K is 14 and loves Harry Potter and Doctor Who. This is from her school production of Beauty and The Beast. She can’t wait to hit the parks and have fun.
We have been reserved a spot at the fabulous Give Kids the World resort. We know two families who have stayed there and they cannot say enough good things about it. I understand it’s simply magical. Part of the package from GKTW will give us 3 day park hopper to WDW, 2 days at Universal, a day at Sea World. My kids don’t want to go to SeaWorld at this point, so that gives us a chance to go elsewhere or rest as Kasey gets worn out from lots of running.
