It's Official! Tusker House turning into TS

How about this:
1) Leave our beloved TH as it is
2) Leave Donald's Breakfast as it is
3) Add a nice Disney TS character buffet that accepts DDP (someone here suggested Jungle Book characters)
4) Stop adding TS restaurants that won't accept DDP

To be fair to Disney, we don't know yet if the new Landry's restaurant, Yak & Yeti, will participate in the DDP or not. They are going to have to deal with lots of unhappy Disney Diners if they don't, and there aren't any other inside-the-park restaurants that don't accept the plan (I don't count Bistro de Paris since it is an offshoot of Les Chefs, or the RFC at AK, since people can access the restaurant without entering the park). I'm pretty sure that TH will participate in DDP. But, I feel your pain- I really wish they would leave TH as a CS. We really like it as it is, and probably won't be excited to do yet another mediocre buffet.

Okay, I guess I should edit my previous post to begin with "In a perfect Disney World..." Hey, it's Disney - place for dreams! Of course, I realize it's not rational. But then - in all fairness to Disney - let's not underestimate their abilities. Since when has a "major constuction project" been too big a challenge?

All I was really trying to say was it's a shame to lose TH - not just because of the yummy food - but also because I honestly believe a park as big and hot as AK needs this air conditioned CS restaurant.

I am also very upset to hear this! I just emailed Diseny to state my disappointment. I just wish that they would change the places that need a change for the better instead!

Surely never. The question, always, is whether it is worth it or not.

I'll miss it too. It was our favorite. However, there are other choices, and we'll have a great time regardless.

I am extremely sad! We loved getting lunch there and then sitting outside watching the many performers. sigh...Like a poster mentioned in the first page---too many changes during my trip...We are already bumming over Haunted Mansion, the Teppanyaki rehab (which I am praying it reopens in time for my trip but that doesn't look good) 1900 PF we wanted for dinner, and that is under rehab then...sigh.

Because the decision to make Tusker House, one of the best CS restaurants a buffet, reeks of a money grab. I hope it fails miserably. The only hope I have is that "Yak & Yeti" will have a decent menu, or perhaps Flame Tree will offer more than smoked/barbque items, but it's unlikely. AK is a 1/2 day park as it is, now we will be spending even less time there. It's just too bad.
