IT'S OFFICIAL!!!****OCTOBER 2014****...ROLL CALL!! Join the party!

Does anyone know when the park hours will open up for Oct? I'm 30 days out to booking my dinning reservations!!! Sooo excited! :cool1:

Does anyone know when they release the refurb schedule for October? Last time we were down in Oct we missed out on a few rides but nothing major, just wondering what will hit this time around.

Refurbs are not released monthly. They just trickle in as they schedule them. Looks like we will be there at the same time. Fingers crossed for both of us that nothing major is going on. :goodvibes

It was just decided, we are going in October. First time we are going in the fall. Looks like a quieter time of year, still warm? I love hot, we loved May and August :thumbsup2

I am a bit unsure of plans as of now. We are staying off site which would not be my first choice but should be fun. Friends are going as well. Going to be hard change for me, last trip was 9 days on site and this is 6 or 7 off. We are much further then I would pick(someone gave us there TS week.)
So much to think about but glad to be here with everyone.

I just put my deposit down on our first family trip to WDW. We will be at a Cars Suite at AOA from october 13--19. I can't wait!

Winter rant!
Is it October yet?!!! I am so ready to get out of this snow and cold!!!! The only thing keeping me from going crazy is disney trip planning!!!

Questions:

Are any of you waiting for free dining or another October discount?

Will it be the deciding factor if you go or not?

We are going regardless of discounts, but of course it would be nice.:)

If there is FD we will be staying at a Moderate Resort for our trip.

If there isn't FD but a room discount we will be staying at a Value Resort.

If there aren't any discounts I will be very sad :(

We are REALLY hoping for free dining.

I am trying my hardest to make it so we can go even if it isn't offered.

We will see!

Most definitely NOT! Too much advanced planning required for our trips to Disney, meaning we have to book flights 9 months to a year in advance to get the best prices and flight path, and due to my job, I have to put in for time off far in advance just so I can ensure not to schedule anything for the time I am away.

I've heard October discounts/offers aren't released till the summer, so that would be way too late for us to start making travel arrangements. So, when I plan a vacation, I base it on prices when I book, not hope for a discount. I'm way too excited about Disney trips to deal with the heartbreak of cancelling a trip because I can't afford it due to no discount.

For some people, I understand that only going if there is a discount makes sense, if you want to stay in a deluxe resort, or if you have a family of 5 or 6 to feed, then the dining plan may make it worth it. And I can TOTALLY see waiting to see if a discount is released before booking..but I can't imagine/don't understand getting yourself hyped about Disney to the point of booking a room, knowing there is about a 50/50 shot that you will have to cancel.

EDIT: Also, aren't Disney LESS likely to offer a discount if the rooms are full? Aren't the people pre-booking in the hopes of a discount doing themselves a disservice by letting Disney know they needn't worry about filling the rooms?

Thank you for adding me. I got confirmation today so I am adding details
Oct 4-13. DH and I will arrive earlier/stay later then originally planned. Staying at Orlando International Resort club. Its DH and I, our boys will be 6 and 8. Friends staying at same resort as well.
