IT'S OFFICIAL!!!****OCTOBER 2014****...ROLL CALL!! Join the party!

Has anyone been there in October? I was wondering about the weather and the waterparks. Are the waterparks usually busy that time of year? I remember swimming every day and night when I visited Disney as a child, as we went to Adventure Island, but that was 23 years ago!

List updated!

10/4, 17, 18 and 19 seem to be popular arrival dates! :)

It's still pretty warm in October, especially beginning of month.

Yes, the water parks will be open and you should pretty much be able to swim all day and evening BUT there is always a chance of a cool evening in October... But for the most part it is still very warm (thought not miserably hot) When we go in October I do pack one long sleeve light pullover for everyone just in case... Last year we didn't use them... The year before we did one evening!

We are hoping for FD, but will still go if we pay OOP.
But DH will be easier to deal with FD
Like some one said to much planning goes into these trips to let no FD get in the way.

We're planning on a day at Typhoon Lagoon so I hope its hot! .......but not so hot that the park is crowded :rolleyes1

Our family will be there Oct. 14-21 staying at AoA- Nemo Family Suite

Seems like a lifetime away!

We are hoping for FD as well. DBF likes it even if doesn't save money because he likes knowing that things are paid for in advance.

If FD is offered we will be staying at a Moderate. If RO is offered we will stay at a Value and pay OOP for food.

I must admit, with the new FP+ and visiting Universal Studios, I feel like a newbie to it all. We have 3 WDW trips in 4 years (and one DCL) under my belt but I am not sure how to approach our park days:scratchin. I am reading and trying to relax about it but its hard not to stress.

FP+ & Universal newbie here too! I have been to IOA but that was wayyy before Wizarding World of HP. The Hulk was actually my first roller coaster.

We did universal in 2005 for one day(just adults) and 2 days in '01 but that was long before I had any idea that people planned parks. We did Disney with no preplanning or ADRS back then. With little kids, its nice to have a plan.

Oct. 25 - 28 Universal Studios Royal Pacific
DH and the boys are going to Halloween Horror Nights and we can't wait to see the new Harry Potter Areas.
Oct. 28 - Nov. 4 Disney World Port Orleans Riverside
MNSSHP Oct. 31

oct 3-11th - CBR.

Newbie to the boards. Ive been to Disney world roughly 9 times :). I've been here in October of 2001 and the weather was perfect :). I enjoy the heat for sure.

Hoping they announce the Halloween party dates soon...cant wait to start booking reservations in april !!! :yay:

For those who have stayed at POR. I would like to surprise my family with an upgrade to the royal rooms. If I plan to do this, how soon in advance should I make the switch, and can I pay for the difference ahead of time so that they don't get it in their bill 45 days before? As well, is it worth the upgrading if we don't plan to stay at the resort all the time, of course well be in the parks, etc. I just think my nephew and niece would love it, but I want to make the right decision, and financially. Thank you!

Oh if they'd release October hours today it sure would make this miserable blizzard day not seem so terrible......

Okay people, let's talk swimwear.

As we are staying at Beach Club, I fully intend to make use of that pool.

I'm 40, and still pretty cute if I do say so myself.:rotfl:
But I have not put on a bathing suit in a few years.:crazy2:

What do you all wear around the pool?

I was thinking of a bikini top, but I would wear boy board/surf shorts, for some reason I don't want to trot around the pool in a full blown bikini. :lmao:
