IT'S OFFICIAL!!!****OCTOBER 2014****...ROLL CALL!! Join the party!

Just curious, is there any chance of them adding a MNSSHP night? I seem to remember this happening but can't quite remember. I'm hoping for another one around my Columbus Day weekend trip! On that note, how often do they cancel the party? We are going specifically for the party this trip and can't imagine what will happen if our one and only party during our 4 nights is cancelled! That would be devastating!!!

Anyone have any experience in this area?

It is very unlikely that any other dates will be added. The party goes on rain or shine, so cancellations are extremely rare. It would have to be a major weather event. If you are limited on possible dates, I would get your tickets early.

Ok, thanks for the info! Good to know that if I'm limited to one it's unlikely that it will get cancelled (I hope!) I will definitely get my tickets when they are released...it is the whole purpose of the October trip!

Hello all! We're going for WDW Trip 2014 squared - yes, second trip in a year!

October 12-18 at AKV - Kidani. We bought in to DVC on our trip this past January so this will be our first DVC trip and AKV is our home resort! :cloud9:

Our flight arrives at 10:25 a.m on Saturday 10/18, plan to take Magic Express to POR but not sure what to do from there. Anyone have recommendations on arrival plans. What park to visit? :confused3

If you're looking for an Elsa dress for your little lady's Halloween costume, Disney Store Online has them back in stock today! We just got ours for our DD3! Yay!! now... if only they'd release the MNSSHP dates so that we can check if there is one in Nov. this year!

Funny, I just did the same thing! Hoping for free dining though!! Never been there and look forward to going!!

Steve

I always like to start my trip out in Magic Kingdom, to me, that IS Disney, and I don't feel like I am there until I see that castle!! But I don't hold high expectations for going to any park on an arrival day, its okay to just enjoy being there and not have to run around and start on your must do's!

This time we are heading to MK and doing the Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party our first night! (If we get the ADR)

Hello everyone! You can add me to the cool list of people visiting WDW in October! My husbands father has just retired and as a celebration he is taking my husband, me and our daughter, as well as my husbands 2 brothers and their families to Disney. We will be there from October 17 until the 27th, staying in the Grand Villas at AKL. We are so excited because it will be our daughters 1st trip! Is it October yet?:yay:

okay kids! Here's my plan thus far:

Tuesday 21 - arrive Beach Club (knock wood), hang out for a while, maybe Downtown Disney, then Epcot for a couple rides and dinner at Via Napoli around 8:15...pizza, sangria, yum.

Wednesday 22 - Animal Kingdom (sugar cane mojito calling me)!! Epcot food/wine at night - lime sake cocktail and margaritas here I come!!

Thursday 23 - Magic Kingdom, early entry!! Epcot food/wine at night, food, drink, food, drink, drink, drink, better have more food!

Friday 24 - Hollywood Studios, dinner at Crew's Cup Lounge (Yacht Club), have some cocktails around hotel, maybe watch movie on the beach, or tour hotels. Maybe go to Future World at Epcot early evening for some more rides.

Saturday 25 - Back to Animal Kingdom for morning, pool time, MK at night. Possible stop at Outer Rim at CR before MK.

Sunday 26 - sleep in!! Breakfast at Captain's Grille around 10:30 (mmm mimosas), lay around pool all day, Halloween Party at night!!

Monday 27 - Epcot day, night open (maybe Studios again or maybe visit Contemporary and Grand Floridian)

Tuesday 28 - Magic Kingdom, dinner at Epcot, maybe Mexico? Not sure

Wednesday 29 - whatever we feel like we need to see before we go home

Thursday 30 - go home (and get ready to start looking for a dog to add to our family again! :))

well, what do you think?? :bitelip: The last couple days of trip are pretty open ended, just relaxing and taking our time on those days.

Just booked our flight down today. I am waiting on points to book the return flight, but I couldn't pass up the fares for the flight down.

Here's the thing, though...AFTER I booked our NONREFUNDABLE flight, I remembered how absolutely scared spitless I am to fly. I think I had repressed it...we don't fly very often. I'm having a mini anxiety attack over here!

I'm sure I will get over it...but I've also never flown with my kids. They are 4, 6, and 7. Any tips???

Count us in-we are booked for 4 nights (24th-28th) at Universal RPR, then DISNEY:cool1: We will be at POR for 7 nights (28th-4th) Celebrating Halloween and DD's birthday. Hoping for FD:confused3 or ANY discount. We were planning on skipping Disney this year:rotfl: (like that would actually happen), but DD saw Sofia and Doc were at HS. Yes, we actually altered our entire vacation around .....a character breakfast at HS. Only my friends here on the DIS would understand.

Disney movies, lots of them, they will distract you and at the same time remind you why you are on the plane. :mickeyjum :tinker:

Excited......no, beyond excited that our trip is booked for October! We are staying at CSR 10/23-10/28. First time on property in over 10 years....I'm thrilled!

Going October 3rd until the 11th! Add me to the list. Right now,we are staying at Pop, but may change if we get a code or offer. Got our Incrediblemail today! So excited. Let's hope we get FD or percent off. Hope to see you there.

I am a nervous/anxious flyer! I take a low dose klonopin before I fly... Of course you'd have to talk to your doctor. I fly a lot now, but honestly it helps me relax. And just know you will be fine... Disney movies! I agree! :)
You are going to have a blast... Faith trust and pixie dust!

Make sure your most talkative kid sits right next to you. That's what I do. DS keeps me distracted the whole flight. That kid could talk for a week straight and never run out of things to say. :rotfl2:

We're going Oct 5-12..taking our daughters for their first visit. Not telling them either!! We are staying at POR..so excited!!
We took our girls the same week for their first visit in 2010 - we are finally going back this Fall but this time I have no plans to tell them!

We are driving and I am WAY more scared of a 17 hour drive then flying so Ill happily swap:thumbsup2

To fly, I get lolly pops as a treat, bring a light meal or a few snacks. Buy drinks in Airport because someone always gets thirsty before flight attendants come around. They dont give snacks on most flights anymore. NEW movies or games loaded on Kindle or what ever you have the day before, sticker books or disney story/coloring books, mad libs for 7 year old are fun or word search/mazes, color wonder markers. I make up a bag of new items as a surprise, all small and inexpensive but things to pass the time. I always pack their lovies/blanket (my kids easily fall asleep when we fly.) It will be fun and if they are entertained, you can relax and read a little.

SO I thought I had a handle on my desired ADRs and park plans but being off site is making it really hard(I would prefer onsite but not this trip.) We did off in '09 but kids were much younger and it was a terrible weather week so we all were ok with short days to get out of the rain. that said, I was very bored hanging in the villa (and that was a better place then we will be in this trip.)
Now, I am not sure how to plan- Kids will be just 6 and almost 9 (no stroller.)
-DO I plan a midday break back at resort like we normally do and enjoy(when on site?)
- Shorter days? skip RD or evenings?
- Go all day with ADR late afternoon?
I am just so unsure how the kids will handle it all day but with ADRs and FP+ I have to plan. I had a bad experience driving off site on '09 trip- took 3 hours one day so I have anxiety about it (on top of anxiety about the drive from NJ-FL.) Help please
