It's not too early for a Pre-Trip report

I started on the second sock last night. And now I'm already half done. I can't belive how quick it's going when this is the first pair of socks I have ever knitted. It is easier than I first thought.

Tomorrow I have to go and buy more yarn and some new needles in size US 4 (3,5 mm) so I can start on a new bigger pair.

I sent a new e-mail to the medicine goverment (I'm not sure what you would call them in english) to get the letter I need, but I haven't recived an reply yet. Hopefully it will all turn out well in the end.

I have also decided that I will take some knitting with me in my handluggage on the plane so I have something to do on the 9 hour flight over to the US.

Sure I can tell about my geocaching in my TR.
There are one geocache in each Disney park. These geocaches are not normal geocaches where you find a container and sign a log. Disney don't allow things hidden on their grounds. So the geocaches hidden on Disney property are so called Virtuals. That means there are no container to be found, but you go to a spot and have to find answers to some questions and then take a picture of yourself at that spot.

We will find them I just have to find out in what order we will take them since we don't need to find geocaches on our 1st and 2nd park day.

That is super cool! And it sounds like fun!

I started to knit some socks for myself. And now when I'm finished with the first one a realize that it's a little small :headache:  :sad2:

Here are 2 pictures of the sock

So now I will knit the other sock and then I have to start on a new bigger pair :headache:

That is such a bummer... but the socks are gorgeous! Love them! And I love how they have a hidden paw print and hidden kitties in them! CUTE!

Ok - I am not sure about this, you'd probably know better than I would... But I thought, at one point in time, that people weren't allowed to bring knitting needles on flights? I thought I remember seeing stories of them being confiscated by the TSA agents??? I could be totally wrong here - but maybe double check. :lovestruc

D~

Thank you for your concern. I have check and on the Norwegian aircraft site it says that it's now allowed. I will dobble check with the US site and see what they say.

I just checked the TSA site and knitting needles and and needlepoints are allowed in your carry-on. Yarn is also allowed. Circular thread cutters are not allowed in your carry-on, but I don't own one so that is not a problem. I always use scissors or my bare hands to cut the yarn when needed. Scissors with a blade shorter than 4 inches are allowed in your carry-on.

I got the letter for my medicines that I need to take with me. That's another thing I can check of my to do list. :cool1:

Today I bought the T-shirts I need for the trip. I also got the cats 10 kg of cat food. We probably had food at home for 14 more days so we needed to buy more food before I deliver the cats to my parents house. Since I'm a registered breeder I get 25% off the cat food. That is a great deal.

Awesome! Glad things are coming together for you!!! :)

Today I went to the pharmacy and got all my medicine for the trip. It's getting closer to the trip every minute :lmao:

16 days to go and I think I have control.

I have been stressed about our Mickey Mail not arriving. Yesterday I had to call Disney in the UK to get some help. I got an e-mail address I had to mail my problem to and I was told on the phone that they could help me by mail. I got the mail address. But as we all know it's sometimes hard to understand letters and numbers over the phone. I asked the nice CM on the phone to repeat the mail address and I was sure I got it right.

I wrote the mail explaining the problem and got the mail in return with the message that the mail address doesn't exist. I did some research and finally found out that I had got one letter wrong in the mail address. I sent the mail and this time to an address that exists. A few hours later I got a reply and we could start to sort out the problem. Today I got the last e-mail from them saying that our Mickey Mail will be sent to our resort at Walt Disney World because it would'nt reach me at home before we leave for Disney World.

Now I can relax knowing that our Mickey mail will be waiting for us at the resort. I'm so glad that it all worked out in the end (just has to hope the letter really gets to our resort). Now I can relax again and continue to prepare the last few things I have to do here at home before we leave.

11 more days to go :cool1:

What about Magical Express? Do you have to take care of your own luggage because you're outside of the US? Otherwise there really isn't anything all that important in Mickey Mail that can't wait. Just coupons :) Would have been nice though to get it before then + the luggage tags

We planned to take our own luggage anyway. So it's not that big of a deal for us. Since we don't fly direct to Orlando it is possible that we could have used the luggage tags. But I'm not sure. I haven't research it since we planned to take our own luggage anyway :)

Another reason to NOT use the luggage tags and instead take our own bags is that our plane arrives at 8pm and we will be very tired after our LONG trip. If we let Magical Express take our luggage we won't get to bed until very late if it takes very long for the bags to come. And from what I have heard it can take from 3 hours to get the luggage to your room.

I can't believe that your trip is just over a week away!!!! Soooo exciting!

D~

D~ I can't belive it either. I have waited for this trip for so long and soon it is time to go :cool1:

I have now found out that we HAVE TO find a Petco store so I can buy some cat toys for my cats. I also saw someone in the February trip thread that had a Magnetic Dry Erase Calendar that I think looks very practical. I will have to go to Target to try and find one of those.

My sister is getting married this August and I'm going in her wedding. But I don't have a clue on what to wear. I hope I will tumble over something nice in the USA that I can buy.

Your photos of Norway are gorgeous and your cats are absolutely beautiful! Your trip is so soon - hope you have a wonderful time!
:)

3 more days!!! I am hoping you will be able to update your PTR a bit here and there so we can track you across the US. If I don't get back here before you leave... Have a magnificant safe trip, and take notes so you can tell us all aobut it!!! (((Hugs)))

D~

Thanks a lot D~ *hugs* I will take pictures and notes so I can tell you all about my journey when I get a chance :goodvibes

We have now start THINKING of packing. The suitcases will be packed on Sunday. Everything has to be ready on Sunday because our flight is leaving very early on Monday.

On Sunday I'm invited to my niece 16th birthday party. She lives not far from my parents house. So I will deliver my cats to my parents house right before I go to my niece. And then it's home to pack.

I heard that there is a snowstorm near New York. I hope our flight doesn't get canceled or too much delayed. So far I haven't heard anything about our flight being canceled.
