It's NEVER Too Late, for Number 8 - the most UNOFFICIAL, 'official' AKL thread yet!

Not to be off topic here, but just thought I might add this..

Just got back from our 11 night BWV trip Sept 1st.
1st time ever for villas or deluxe, and Boy were we missing out.

BWV is certainly very nice, great location, atmosphere, restaurants, and yes even the dreaded CLOWN Pool too...

The only thing we absolutely hated was the Dungeon like laundry room.(More like a closet) It had 3 washers and only 2 dryers, which only 1 was working for part of the trip....

My next trip is scheduled right now for SSR, but we are waiting until I can see if AKL becomes available...And I hope it does..

Questions I have :

1.)Is the Studio value that drastic a difference ( size/ accomodating wise ) than the standard?

2.)Do the pools have Elaborate slides, or just a generic slide?

3.) What about the main Laundry Room? Has to be better than BWV.

Also is there an extra bed like the day bed at BWV.

The reason I ask is my kids are now at that age where they dont want to be near each other..LoL Twins go figure....

....wow, what a gorgeous place!

I'm just wondering how they actually call that a cottage!

** Some friends of ours are down at Disney right now, they were chosen today to go "behind" the wall........... lol - they got to go do "Enchanted Tales with Belle" - they sent me video of it, all but the DH got picked to be IN the show, it's awesome!!! It is SOOOOOOOOOOOO cool - I love it and cannot wait to see it in person! :)

AND - they are staying at Kidani, their first time, and LOVE IT!!!!! :)

I want to see pictures! OMG how did they finagle THAT? I can't believe that they let them video it too!!!!

Looks like our trip is changing!

Two weeks from today we are leaving for Orlando. We were going to rent a car, spend our arrival night at Shades of Green then drive south to visit friends for a few days. However, we got a call from our friends today and they have to cancel as they will be out of state due to a family issue. :sad1: We will certainly miss seeing them and our planed time together, but completely understand.

I had to get busy and see what our alternatives were. We had several possibilities including flying out a few days later and just head to the Beach Club to start our Disney vacation (if we could get a flight). I was wondering if we would find a hotel reasonably priced on short notice? We kicked around several ideas:

But in the end we decided to lengthen our WDW vacation. We have cancelled the rental car and where able to book Shades of Green for 5 nights instead of just one.

So we will be at WDW for 16 nights!

So I'm totally confused :confused3 where does your not knowing what is going on part of the vacy fitting in and how can you go away for so long? Our cats have a fit when we are gone ten days, we don't dare plan trips longer than that (or is it Fran who has the fits? :confused3) either way 10 is the max I'm allowed. and even then I get flamed in the last day or two...

Why do you book studios when you get a laundry all to yourself in an 1 BR? :confused3

Sounds perfect to me!!!!!!!!

Last night I posted a thank you for all the wishes for our visit with Kathrin, but it seems to be MIA this morning. :confused3

So... We had a wonderful time! Lots to talk about after a year. :(

Tomorrow we are going to head down to Richmond for the day since Chris will be done with the shoot by tonight and their flight is not until tomorrow evening. The only thing that would make this a better deal is if our younger DD, Kristin, could take a day off and join us.

We are having quite a good thunderstorm right now. They have been predicting rain for us all week, but we have had generally partly sunny and hot days. The weatherman last night said we had already had 50 days of temps over 90 this summer. And then he said it wasn't over yet.

Because with only 160 points i was able to get 11 nights this August as opposed to only maybe 6 in a 1 bedroom. My kids are still young enough where i can still get away with it and no one fighting.

PamThank you for DH's birthday wishes. I will pass them on.

Darn it about the rain! WDW must have gotten it's weather communication skewed. It was only to rain while you and your family were sleeping not going to dinner. :beach:

Have a wonderful day!

Ann

If only they didn't keep the air conditioning as cold as the arctic tundra it would have been fine  oh well, I still had a good dinner, it was the others who were making a less than desirable situation an unpleasant one.

afternoon J's & K's - hope everyone is well and had a good holiday. All here is good - it's too much to go back and read all the pages I missed, but - sending you all good wishes!!

Sorry you'll be missing your friends, but that'll be a nice long trip!

Thanks for all the pictures Brandi. You and David certainly do a lot of fun outings :)

....hey, how cool is THIS? :earseek: my DS's GF's dad "knows people", and found out Martin Scorcese is filming in no. Bergen County...starring Matthew McConaughey and Leo DiCaprio. It's called The Wolf of Wall Street and it's a closed set....they left a while ago to go meet them!

I am. JEALOUS.

Kim I'm really pulling for you to go this Christmas. You need to fix some super special dinner for your DH and "convince him" :rolleyes1 so you can get some plans going.

Woooow that is great! I hope you have a wonderful time!

Thank you, looks like you have some really wonderful trips coming up too!

Sorry you won't be able to see your friends. But 16 nights at Disney.:banana: :woohoo::woohoo: :yay::yay:

And a surprise to follow.

Thank you Kathy. I still have no idea what the surprise is.

:woohoo::yay::yay::woohoo: WOW, Ann! 16 nights!! Congrats!! :worship: (yes, JEALOUS!!! ::yes::)

Thanks Laura, hope you are staying cool and having fun while making those Disney dollars. :)

Shades of Green sounds like a good option... I am jealous too.

I agree Brandi, Shades of Green is really a nice resort. The rooms are big, cost is low, everything is well kept up, clean and the pools are nice. They are getting ready to start a total redo of their pools with several special features such as zero entry, waterfalls slides, children's play splash area. Everyone is so friendly and polite there from employees to guests. The food sucks there :sad2: but SOG is right across the street from the Poly, and the monorail so there are lots of options. Looking forward to spending more than our usual night of arrival stay.

You all made me smile, you're all are so cute being jealous when most of you have numerous trips planned to WDW coming up, going on cruises and so many fantastic trips, or live just an hour away. :worship: You're just trying to make me feel good for my once every two - four years trip. And I am loving it! :grouphug:

I am sorry that you won't get to see you friends, but yay for 16 nights at Disney World.

Corinna

Thank you Corinna, we are excited!

Sounds perfect to me!!!!!!!!

 Thanks Elin
