It's MY Birthday!!!(Sooo, I wanna eat 'n eat,...until I die.) COMPLETED

I didn't even realize you started this. (Saw your humble Pimp on Kathy's TR) :rotfl2::rotfl2:

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I'm all caught up. I'm a little dismayed...things you liked, disliked about the CSR? And the Comfort Suites room was bigger than CSR? I guess that would be true if it were a suite. Anxious to hear more.

HERE!!! im caught up nate. glad you guys had a good time. did you have any pineapple bars while you were there? i wanted to let you know, walmart, commonly known as wally world in our house, now has edy pineapple bars!!! looking forward to reading your trip report!!!:thumbsup2

I'm a little dismayed...things you liked, disliked about the CSR? And the Comfort Suites room was bigger than CSR?

I can only assume you are refering to my comment over on the CSR thread about the online survey.

Really the only bad things I said have already been discussed over there...Mousekeeping...and nothing really bad...as you say it don't get fixed if no one complains. Complained about a missing favorite at the Pepper Market. Also, I really wasn't too happy with my room location in Casitas 3 (2nd floor)...when I had faxed request for either Cabanas (any) or Ranchos (all but 6B)...and to be near the parking lot on the Ground floor. Our room was over looking the "Lion" fountain...which I guess could be considered a water view...not to me...but maybe to someone. We keep the curtains closed so we have a "curtain view" no matter where you stick us.

Comfort Suites had 2 queens...a small sofa...and a mini kitchen area (sink, mini fridge, microwave and counter space)...and 1 very large bathroom.

NOTE these are from the Comfort Suites Website for this Hotel...

OK...so I have few hours before I hit the Corn Maze...so I hope to get my next installment in...which I have started to do 4 different times...and keep getting interupted at work...for work of all things... :lmao:

Lets see...I'm waking up...I'm 41 today...
In my "Prime" (math joke :teacher: )
And I'm going to Disney World. :woohoo:

So we check out and head back to Chick-fil-A for some breakfast...then off to the Daytona Flea Market. Granted that allot of thees booths are cheap China made junk..."As Seen on TV" items...but there are few diamonds in the rough.

Boy (DS15) is a coin collector...very selective...but he has a few spots in the DFM that he likes to visit while we are in Daytona. He depleates his cash supply at his first stop... on his second he bums off of me...and DW...and says he can repay us if he can find an ATM...or Wal-Mart. (Boy has his own checking account...debit card...even has a lock box at the bank for some of his coins.) Melodie finds a swimming suit that is identical to her "Favorite"...Tiny (DS10) and I hit the Jackpot though.

There's this place that sells NFL Jerseys...the Premier type with Stiched letters numbers and Logos. Tiny finds a DeSean Jackson (WR for the Eagles...and his favorite.) I ask how much...$50. I'm like these things cost close to $200 online...how the "peanut butter" can they do that. Look the Item over and everything seems authentic...even the Tags with the Official NFL Hologram. OK I'm sold. The I start looking for me...and I find what I consider the Holy Grail to any San Diego Chargers Fan... An authentic 1984 Dan Fouts Throwback Jersey by Mitchell & Ness.

fouts.jpg

While Eyeing the $380 M&N price tag I ask how much for this one??? "If you get the Eagles and that $50 too." HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOO ME!!! :woohoo:

Problem...I try it on and it's too small...she check her laptop and says she has one in her Stanford Flea Market Store...I'm like we are headed to Orlando...how hard is it to find??? So we get directions and she calls and tells them to hold it and the price.

Tiny finds a few lose threads on his Jersey...so the nice lady knocks anothe $20 off of his. So we get $500 worth of Jersey...for $80.

We finish the DFM and head down Hwy 92 until it connects with I-4. Then onto Stanford. We take the St' Mary Road exit...and find our Flea Market about 5 miles out of the way...not too bad. We call the store and get directions to her booth. There is my jersey...$50 later We are back on the road to...find boy a Wal-Mart.

Didn't find one in Stanford...but I know of one very close to WDW...so I head there. This make Yoda unhappy...I get called rebellious several times.

Boy buys some travel size hand sanitizers...I get a 2 pack of Ny-Quil...hotel AC + some alergies have given me drainage...so I will need this at night.

It's about 2:30pm when we pull in here...
Disney191.jpg

And walk thru here...
Disney022.jpg

I take a right and go to here...
Disney030.jpg

Everyone else takes a left to go here...aka "Mel's Place"
Disney029.jpg

There are just a few people being taken care of...but I have NO LINE!!! So I just wait for the next available Cast member.

When I see her right my Room number down...3281...I'm like CRUD Casitas!!! I ask is there any thing in the Cabanas? No we are very full. (Convention?)

What the hay...it's just a room? I also have a small issue attaching the Credit Card on file to my room...turns out that card expired in August...and I have a new expiration date...so that's pretty simple to fix.

Go find the family in Panchito's. We love this Gift shop...the only shops we like better are in DTD and in the Parks.

We follow the directions to the Casitas...and park where they have Casitas 3 marked. (BIG Mistake) Turns out we are on the second floor and the closest elevator is the length of the Building away. So I move the Van before we unload the rest...PArk in the Casitas 1 area is allot closer...and where I parked the remainder of our trip.

We unpack...and head to...tradition would be to goto DTD...but tonight we have reservations at the Sci-Fi in HS...so we go down LBV drive and hang a left right into the HS parking lot. Lot to lot it's about a 5 min drive.

This is a trip of Things we have never done before...so we have NEVER done the Great Movie Ride. Summary...we will NEVER do the Great Movie Ride Again...there's 20 minutes of my life I'll never get back. :lmao: Did like our Gangster hostess while we had her though.

Form there we go and see...One Mans Dream...:headache: Closed for Refurb...I really love that attraction...hope they are putting in some cool new stuff.

TSM 120 min wait...scratch that one off...here we split up...Tiny and I head towards. ToT and RnR...Mel and Boy head to the Shops.

RnR has a 40 Minute Wait and no FPs. oh well we only have an Hour before our Dinner Resi...so we head to ToT...10 Min wait...now we are talking.

Tiny and I ride this 3 times. :woohoo:

We make our way back to the SciFi...Mel and Boy aren't there yet so we go to the Star Tours Gift shop (who's name escapse me now???)

Get back and there are Mel and Boy ...

I get this Picture before we head in...
IMG_0012.jpg

Sorry no food porn...but Mel and the Boys each got the Butcher Steak...I got the Ribs...mine was better. we each got the Peanut Butter Chocolate Cake. Yummy. But I think my favorite part was the Cherry Flavored Cokes. I must have drank 6. Deliss!!!

So by the time we get out the park is closed. American Idol is still going and people are watching it on the big screen outside...we slip on out and back to the room...for we have an opening at the Magic Kingdom to attend and Breakfast at the Crystal Palace too.

See y'all real soon.

Great update, Nate. SCORE on the jerseys. That is awesome (our youngest son loves jerseys--especially Favre jerseys). I love how Mel turned to "Mel's shop"--she sounds just like me. I'm proud of you...a few pictures in this update. ;)

A flea market vendor with multiple locations and computerize inventory? Granted, I haven't been to a flea market in years, but this just seems odd...

:sad2::sad2:Also Been there. Also Done that. Also Regretted it.

so we head to ToT...10 Min wait...now we are talking.

Tiny and I ride this 3 times. :woohoo:
:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Tatooine Traders. Man I'm a Disney Geek.

The Cokes sound great. Cherry Coke in a can from the store can't hold a candle to the mixed stuff. But, uh, what was wrong the Chocolate Cake that it deserved an explicative adjective?

I love the first day at Disney. No matter how many "first days" we have, they're always so full of excitement! :woohoo:

You're in the middle of Bear country and he loves Favre jerseys? :confused3:confused3

He was dropped on his head when he was born. He's a diehard Packer fan, but still loves Brett too. It was scary when he painted his bedroom Packer yellow. I was afraid bricks would come through our window. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

great update nate. next time you go down, buy a bunch of jerseys and you can sell them on ebay. at the sci-fi, did you have peanut butter choc. cake or did you have peanut butter choc. cake?

I understand and admire your stand on Credit Cards.

I do not like to carry allot of cash on Vacation...nor do I like using my Debit Card...as receipts will get lost and not written in the check register...so on Vacation...we live on the Disney VISA. And we keep track of the damage.

Currently I'm carrying a small balance...plan to pay off with my Corn Maze Money.

The Discount on Merchandise is nice...and they were offering it EVERYWHERE this year...Last Year it was only at the World of Disney Store in DTD...and I got it on purchases less than $50. Either they had just modified the promo...or we were lucky. The Free Photopass Picture at EPCOT is also a nice keepsake.
That's a great point. I'll have to consider that.

I forgot your DWs name was Melodie... I have my own Melody! Do people constantly call your DW Melanie? My DW gets that ALL THE TIME!

DL Yoda's voice for the GPS? Awesome you are!!!! :lmao:

Ohhhhh Chick-fil-A! I'm glad there isn't one of those close to us, I'd be eating there all the time.

So how did Feds directions work out for you?

What a score on the jerseys!!!! Wonder how they were able to sell them for that price? :scratchin

We like Panchito's too.. great selection and some 'adult' drinks just in case. ;)

we each got the Peanut Butter Chocolate Cake.
So you didn't like it? Or was it actually peanut butter? :lmao:

Well a few for the CSR were from the 2009 Archives. We Love Panchito's.

:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

good that someone got that.

Aladdin! Oh, wait, wrong Trip Report. Never Mind.

+1 point

Yeah not sure who they did what they did for such a low price?

:sad2::sad2:Also Been there. Also Done that. Also Regretted it.

I was just proud that I refrained from using my pet name for the ride in my TR

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Tatooine Traders. Man I'm a Disney Geek.

That's it.

Choclate cake with PB.

That's a great point. I'll have to consider that.

Please don't let me sway you to the Darkside... :darth:

I forgot your DWs name was Melodie... I have my own Melody! Do people constantly call your DW Melanie? My DW gets that ALL THE TIME!

We've been married for 17 years...and my mom still hasn't gotten her name right.

DL Yoda's voice for the GPS? Awesome you are!!!! :lmao:

Why Yes...yes I am.

Ohhhhh Chick-fil-A! I'm glad there isn't one of those close to us, I'd be eating there all the time.

Good Stuff ain't it???

So how did Feds directions work out for you?

Excellent

I figured they either hijacked a shipment...or had a sweat shop somewhere.

We like Panchito's too.. great selection and some 'adult' drinks just in case. ;)

Nothing but love for Panchito's

So you didn't like it? Or was it actually peanut butter? :lmao:
See explaniatin above

Your son is a DeSean Jackson fan? He is officially an awesome kid. :cool2:
Although I have to admit, the Dan Fouts jersey is pretty sweet.

Man, I was too slow on the Aladdin quote AND the peanut butter joke. I gotta get on here more on the weekends.

And Tower of Terror 3 times?! :scared1:

I've never eaten at the Sci-Fi place. Would you say it's worth going? The Cherry Cokes almost make it sound like they're worth it by themselves.

He's proud of his DeSean jersey. And I never thought I'd own the Dan Fouts Jersey...as the online price is $380 as well.

Just for fun I think I might slip in a Movie or TV quote...though my library of quotes is somewhat limited compared to that other Trip Report.

BTW there's a TV quote out there...could be in the report or comments.

Hi! Followed you over from Kathy's TR. Loved your TR title. Too funny

:welcome:

I've got tot get over there and read her's...she moves so fast. October is really rough on me as I work all week at my Job...then I work all weekend at a Corn Maze.

It was a nice place to visit and eat...and I would suggest that one try it just for the experience. However the fact that the Cherry Coke's were the highlight should be a little telling. The food was good...but nothing to rave about...desert was excellent...but nothing I could not live without either. I'm glad I did get those Coke's though. :drinking1

Ah yes, The Great Movie Ride...

We have labels for rides and attractions: Go or No Go.

GMR is most definitely a NO GO. I refuse to even look that direction:lmao:

Of course my directions worked:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Oh, and my DW is named Dama (not Dana) and pronounced "DAY MA".

Very few people get it right the first time:lmao:

My mom and dad have it down though:thumbsup2

Well lets see. My Wife's name is Melodie...most people call her Mel...I call her Odie. Most often people mis-spell her name with the "y" vs. the "ie".

However my Mom calls her a variation of names:
Melanie, Melandy, Meldee, Peanut Butter, etc...
