It's my Birthday & I Celebrated! Lots of photos, food and fun! Updated 9/23

The picture of the Toontown opening ceremony are great! The lamp post makes little difference, you got excellent shots.

That is wonderful that you guys did the face painting.

Disney does corndogs right. Love the face painting. Kody, Scotty and I did that once. It was a lot of fun.

Great Update on your TR. :thumbsup2

Very nice photos from MFW.

The corn dogs from Corn Dog Castle looked so good.

Sorry Everyone! I've been slacking on my TR! I've had a lot going on this week and have just been emotionally burned out!

I love your face paintings! And that corn dog looks so delicious. The cheese dog sounds like a bit much for me though! And, as a matter of fact, I was wondering where those ears came from. They suddenly showed up. I love them :goodvibes I love getting Minnie ears. I'm glad they have a few different styles now, and not just the plain ones. I almost bought those sparkly ones like you have on during my last trip. There were also some pink ones that I really liked.

Sorry I had forgot to mention the ears earlier!! I completely spaced on it since it wasn't on my check-in list or in my pictures! I love my ears... Although I'm not sure if its the red bow on the ears or if my scalp was getting sunburned but it itched!

I love doing the face painting! I think they are cute and fun!

I always hear how wonderful the corn dogs are, but the pics don't always look that appetizing.....it also looks like a ton of breading......so we haven't tried one yet. My concern is the batter being raw or being burnt.....2 things I'm not a fan of.

You're so brave going up on Mickey's Wheel of Death.... :lmao: I'd be like the 7 yr old......totally freaking out & crying!! I love the pics from your ride on it......that would be the only reason I'd even attempt riding it....but I think I'll stay on the ground & enjoy others pics from up there!!!

I focus on taking pictures while on the fun wheel! I won't do the swinging side... #1 I can't get good pictures from it and #2 it makes me sick.

The corn dogs actually have decent sized hot dogs on the inside so the breading is pretty proportionate in my mind... but I like corn dogs in general...

Excellent pictures! Maybe I'll get my face painted with my DD when we go on our trip. That would be a fun experience. :goodvibes I'm not a big hot dog fan, but that corndog looks yummy.

That would be really fun to get it done with your daughter! They have lots of different options... Some I would never do but I like the one we went with!

Aw, I love the face paintings Paula! Maybe I'll ahve to do that sometime in the enar future. The last time I had that done was the last time I went to a Sharks home opener. Although i don't think a Shark painted on my face would fit in Disneyland very much unless I was riding the Nemo Subs.

And we all know you won't be riding the nemo ride! They do the face paintings pretty quick! You should do it!!

Disney does corndogs right. Love the face painting. Kody, Scotty and I did that once. It was a lot of fun.

Yeah for more face paintings!! The corn dog was good. I would do that again! (If the line was moving!)

Thanks!

The corn dogs were good! I'll avoid the cheese dog though... not my thing...

Lets get this TR back on the road shall we?!?!?

When we completed our corn dogs we hoped right across to the Golden Zepher. Another ride first for me!

On this day my hip was really giving me a lot of issues! (I get bursitis in my hip and it acts up at the worst of times!) Since the Golden Zepher has stairs I didn't feel like I could walk up them so we took the elevator... But then we didn't know what to do when we got up to the top?!?! Thankfully one of the cast members saw us and directed us to one the the rockets (are they rockets?!?!) We got buckled in and I had my camera out and the CM volunteered to take our picture! I was happy!!

After the Golden Zepher it was to the Jumpin' Jellyfish! No Wait!
Those seats are hard to get in and out of!!!

ry%3D400

And the exit sign...
ry%3D400

Now it was afternoon so the lines were starting to get a little long so we wanted to do some things that would not require much waiting so we headed away from Paradise Pier and found us some cars!

ry%3D400

And some grapes!
ry%3D400

ry%3D400

And then we went to find a place where we would no longer be human...

We were going to be Honorary Bugs!
ry%3D400

Yup it was time for It's tough to be a bug...
I love being with people that haven't seen this before!

ry%3D400

After that show it was time to head to another...

Stopping to take a few pics along the way...
(It looks like we are ready to take off running or something!)
ry%3D400

And then it was to the Animation Building!

And the Zeotrope! (I don't think I spelled that right!)
ry%3D400

And Crush!

I LOVE Turtle Talk with Crush!!
ry%3D400

I was actually singled out by Crush! I don't remember what all he said but he was asking me about the button on my shirt (My Birthday Button). I get very nervous being singled out like that but it was fun!

We also explored the Beast's Library where I discovered I was JANE?!?!?

At this time I didn't know what we should do next but Kim went... Why don't we go watch the Parade!! What a great idea she had!!

So we exited California Adventure and headed back into Disneyland.

We walked down main street looking for a place to park our bums for a bit. I wanted to sit someplace were we could lean against something otherwise my back starts to kill me. We also wanted to be out of the sun!

We had found one spot but it was right next to a drain and it smelled a little bit so we found a different spot! I parked my bum between a light pole and a fire hydrant!

As the crowds started to gather the Dapper Dans came out to keep us entertained.

And then since we were sitting in front of the Main Street Bakery Kim volunteered to go get us some refreshments! We both enjoyed some Ice Cold Diet Cokes and shared a Mickey Rice Krispie Treat!

Kim decided her shoes needed a different look...
ry%3D400

Me... I simply took my shoes off for awhile!!

And I do believe that is it for this update as I am maxed out on the pictures!!

I can't believe you haven't rode the Zephyr before! :) Such a simple ride, but worth it (if it has a short wait) for the cruise and the breeze :) It shuts down ALL the time though, if it's even a little bit windy:sad2:

I think it's been closed almost every time I've walked by. I guess we finally caught it at a good time!

The next couple of updates are going to be almost all pics... Not much text as I have a TON of Pics of the Parade...

If you are waiting to see the Parade in person and do not wish to see the pictures you may skip this update and probably the next several!

As we sat there waiting for the Parade we had a little more entertainment from the Dapper Dans...

Great update Paula!
That parade looks like so much fun. I hope I get a chance to catch it when I am there.
I have only ever been on the Golden Zephyr once and that was on my first visit to DCA so I wanted to try everything! It was ok...I guess I always pass it up because I feel like it's just so basic. But it would be a nice little break while all the other rides have huge lines.

I love the Parade! So bright and colorful. I love the drummers at the beginning!

We got pretty lucky with our lines! The following week when I was there by myself was a different story entirely!!

Love the parade photos! It looks like it might be worth trying to catch when we go down. What kind of music plays? Classic Disney songs? Looks like a certain blue alien was left out though. :sad2:

I am excited to check out the Animation studio. That was something we missed last October as well. As for It's Tough To Be A Bug - there are no real bugs in there are there???

I believe the music is a mix from the movies along with some new stuff. I can't exactly remember though and I didn't record it... sorry

When were you there in October last year? Were we there at the same time and didn't know it?

No real bugs!

We were there from the 1st-6th. We went to the Oct 5th Halloween Party. It was a blast once we got over the fact that it was raining most of the time!

And I might just check out ITTBAB now that I know there's no real bugs, lol.
