It's kind of fun to do the impossible - Disney with a 1 month old *new 2/13/15*

Aww Emma and her great grandmother are so sweet together.

Beach days are great fun if you don't get to have them, but I agree, ocean water is weird and too warm for my tastes.

Very nice fruit bouquet and cake.

Oh I'm sure Peter will appreciate that picture so much when he's older for sure ;)

Lastly, while out shopping we happened upon one store that carried a lot of children's clothes and had this child-sized maniquine out front ... for some reason Peter too a shine to it and kept giving it hugs. Figure this picture will be a good one to show him when he is like 16 :rotfl:

That is totally the photo you pull out when he brings his first date over to meet the family...:rotfl2:

Sub in some sort of fatherly jokes to make everyone feel awkward! Good times! It has sitcom moment written all over it!

Glad you guys had a nice time in Boca!! I bet the water was warm! Nothing like a Florida beach bath in August!

I hope Olivia has a very good school year!

We love Buca di Beppo's! We always end up ordering an insane amount of food and have leftovers for days.

Happy belated birthday to Judi! Is that an edible arrangement? I've had a few and they are delicious! They're always so perfect looking, too.

Miss Emma appears to be a nice mix of both of her siblings.

That picture of Peter and the mannequin is hilarious! Definitely blackmail material for his later years!

I'm a little late to the party -- but so glad to be reading along! Loving the report so far!

I am super impressed with how smoothly your travel day went with 3 kids, a longish drive, and a late evening flight! Thumbs up to you guys! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Can't wait to read more!

I saw the pictures on FB of Olivia! I bet it was bittersweet seeing her get onto that bus. Big girl! Did everything turn out okay with the lock down at her school?

Did you say bowl?! Ugggh, I wish I could swim in that.:cloud9: And eat it too, that is!

I love that Emma is a little traveler. Been everywhere it seems!

oh my gosh where do I start? It like like Oliva is around my Alex's age. He also went to kindergarden this year. Not sure which emotion was stronger. Watching my Baby leave for school which will be a full day knowing I will not have him all too my self in the afternoons any more vs having free time to get more things done around the house

The beach shots are fun! For some reason water is like a magnet for alot of kids mine included!

My boys would go nuts seeing those little lizzards!

The food looks yummy at Buca Di Beppo's. Is that some sort of pizza?

And last but certainly not least is how beautiful Emma is!!! This age is sooo much fun. They can not talk back to you yet and you do not have to chase them. Instead you get to watch them smile nd make cute baby noises. :thumbsup2

It's probably just because it's been awhile since I've had a newborn - but Emma looks so big for 1 month old! She is just beautiful. I love the picture of her and her great grandma. It makes me realize I need to get my girls to see their great grandma ASAP.

Looks like it was a nice time in Florida away from Disney - sun, sand, birthdays, food, and family - everything looks great (although, even being a Floridian, I don't enjoy the beach; I like the ocean and walks on the beach in off season but the whole process of a day at the beach, I hate). How nice that you guys had your own space for this part of the vacation, I think that can help make family visits more enjoyable, especially with little ones!

Olivia's first day of kindergarten! How exciting! And emotional! She looks great, ready to tackle the world. I'm proud of you guys for putting her on the bus the first day, we live too close to the school for busses but I would have had a hard time putting my kindergartner on one that first day. Peyton is spoiled, we still walk her all the way to her classroom on the first day of school, even in 3rd grade this year. She'll outgrow it soon enough!

Looking forward to the Disney portion of the trip. I can't wait until we stay at the Contemporary one day! Interested to hear what you guys thought.

So precious with Olivia heading off to school. Big day.

Ah yes, the Disney Math that makes a Disney trip so easy. We're going to be down that way anyway so it would be silly not to go...

Wow, that fruit bouquet is beautiful Phil.

Thanks Rob - she had a great day and seems to like her teacher ... definitely a big day though to start going full day every day

Gotta love Disney math!

Thanks - definitely did not make that myself ... worked out well though as we ate the fruit very often for breakfast - I mean, some chocolate covered pineapple is the breakfast of champions :rotfl2:

Thanks Amber - she was so happy to meet Emma. The beach is weird to me because the best part while you are there is the sand - but the worst part when you are leaving/getting in the car is the sand ... that stuff gets everywhere!

Oh yeah, definitely going to keep that picture for when he is older and trying to act cool ;)

haha - let his date know that there is some competition already :rotfl:

Yeah, the water was pretty warm - the ocean wasn't too bad though ... the pool at the complex was seriously like bath water though

We really tried to not order too much but still had tons of leftovers ... though that tiramisu is even better the next day!

It was from Edible Arrangements - definitely looked great and the fruit was all fresh and tasted good

We are still trying to figure out who Emma looks most like. Recently I have definitely been seeing more of Peter in her

Definitely blackmail material. It was so funny because he did like like 5 times - guess he was getting board while everyone else was shopping

:welcome: We are just getting started!

It was the travel days - both down to Florida and then up from Boca to Disney that I was most stressed about - both definitely went smoother than I was expecting but weren't without their moments of stress

It was a little bittersweet Alicia - I think knowing she is so ready for it helps though ... plus, now with Emma we do kinda have the newer model still at home ;) We never got a ton of details about what happened but we were notified a couple of ours later that the police activity ended and everything was back to normal at the school (was just the Middle and High Schools impacted)

Yeah it is a giant bowl of tiramisu - at least a full quart ... and it's really good too not just quantity

Yeah, we keep dragging her around - she gets used to it though she isn't a big fan of the car, at least when it isn't moving so first getting her in it there is usually some screaming.

Aww.. 1st day of school pics, I always enjoy looking at those!!

Love the pics of Emma!! Especially with her smiling.

Yay for the beach and I hear you on the getting over it pretty fast... I get so excited about going but then we only do the beach for a few hours and the rest of the time is spent at the pool. So much easier without all that sand in every nook and cranny that your kids have.. LOL

I agree Kathy - definitely mixed emotions. We were definitely at the point where we need some more structure to their days so we are more positive than negative about school starting. I think that we know Olivia is totally ready for this and really likes school and gets a lot out of it helps too

My kids tend to like water a lot though earlier this summer Peter had a scary solution at a pool where he fell in - he had a life jacket on and he was pulled out in like 2 seconds but I think it spooked him a bit so we are having to work with him on getting his comfort back.

There were lizards all over - and we saw some big ones too - like 3 feet long with the tail ... and one even bigger iguana running across the road at one point. Just so different than the northeast where it is all squirrels and deer

We did get one pizza/flatbread mostly for the kids. It was all really good!

it definitely is a fun age - the talking is definitely a mixed thing in that before they can talk you wish they were able to tell you what is bothering them, etc. ... but then once they talk they can talk back (and in Olivia's case never stop talking)

The really funny thing is she is kinda small - just had her check up and she was 40% for weight and actually still weighs less that Peter did when he was born (Peter just then didn't grow any more from there as he is a shorty now)

Having the space definitely helped and also was nice that I didn't have to worry about interfering with their space and normal lives and worried that we were messing things up, etc. if we were just staying in their house

I don't think Olivia would let us walk her to the classroom :rotfl: She was so excited about the bus part! All kids are different though - Peyton will let you know when she is ready

Arrival is coming up next post! I will definitely include in that our overall thoughts on staying at the Contemporary

Good start (even if it wasn't in Disney). Your kids are adorable.

Thank you! and the Disney part is definitely coming up next update! :goodvibes

Thank you ... and to be equal opportunity, here is Peter's picture for today as it is first day of preschool:

I am so right there with you about the beach ... I think unless you are staying right on the beach and can kinda rinse off, etc. - it is just much better in concept than in practice

Aw, Olivia looked so cute in her first day of school picture - that must be a hard day for parents (I can't even think about it yet!). And the picture of Emma with her great-grandmother is so precious. Love the one with Peter hugging the mannequin, too - too funny!

Olivia's first day of school photo is too adorable. Your kids are lucky, mine started back on August 13. Crazy!!! I hope she's having fun so far!

The photo with Emma and her great grandmother is fun too.

My parents are HUGE fans of Buca di Beppo, and they usually make a point to eat there at least once on their trips to Orlando. The took us with them once and we thought it was great. I've got about 20 minutes until it's time to eat lunch, and I now have a strong hankering for a margherita pizza :cool1: Oh, and a bunch of fresh fruit too. (Nice job on bday gift for DW. I would have never thought of that.)

That peter and the little mannequin photo is awesome. Maybe this could spark someone to create another sequel to the classic 80's move. :rotfl2:

Awww...the picture of Olivia's first day of kindergarten had me a little misty-eyed...so sweet (and love Peter's first pre-school picture too).

The picture of Emma with her great-grandma is precious!

Looks like everyone had a good time at the beach.

My daughter-in-law is scared to death of those lizards. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Food looks yummy.

I usual Edible Arrangements...they are great.

What wonderful pictures of Emma!!!!

Thank you - definitely a day of mixed emotions. It's just another sign of how fast time is going but at the same time watching Olivia grow up has been so much fun and exciting and this is a part of that process

It is funny how different the school calendars are ... and while the late start of school is lucky for my kids, they will be envious of your kids when it is the end of June and they are still in school

Hey at least you are thinking of fairly healthy options ;)

To be honest I thought of the fruit as something that would be good to have delivered and just something different than just flowers or whatnot. Also, with all the planning for the trip I probably was a tad behind in my panning for her birthday so this fit as a good option.

aw Kathy, thank you ... definitely get a bit emotional thinking about Olivia growing up. I think Olivia had the most fun at the beach but we all enjoyed it!

haha, Olivia and Peter loved them - just loved pointing them out and finding them ... would make us come into the other room to see one on the other side of the window, etc. Just so different for them
