Don't remember seeing one.

So what's your favorite Horror movie. The one that really scared you?

I'm not a big slasher fan but one of my favorites is a movie by M. Night Shamalyan. I can't remember the name but it starred Mel Gibson and Joaquin Pheniox. He was a retired Minister living on a PA farm that has mysterious crop circles and it turns out to be an alien invasion.

Anyone remember it?

When I was kid, the scene from the wizard of Oz where the Tin man, Lion and scarecrow go to the Witch's castle to try and rescue Dorothy. That song the guards sang as they marched into the castle. Oooo-eey-OOO. scared the beejeesus out of me.

OP- I'm pretty sure you're talking about Signs.

That was a pretty good movie!

I LOVE all scary movies!! Can't just pick a few..:)

My favorites are classics

Halloween
The Fog
Carrie

and for lighthearted halloween fun

Hocus Pocus!

Great thread! The Mel Gibson film was Signs. I love that too. But my favorites are still the classics from the 1930s and 1940s. Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein and my all time favorite The Wolf Man with Lon Chaney Jr. He's one of my favorite actors ever, he really bought alot of sadness and heartache to that character.

Invasion of the Grammar Snatchers...:lmao:

(Halloween is misspelled in your post and before this becomes a horror thread about that, was just pointing it out in a funny way. ;))

As for me--Sixth Sense is about as far as I go.

I am not a fan of the "horror" film genre but do like a good thriller that isn't too freaky.

LOL, Lisa that could be theme to my life. I am a horrible speller and I can't even blame it on texting. It's way before my time.

:thumbsup2 You get 2 :wizard::wizard: for catching my boo-boo

Here are some of the ones I own and usually watch every year:

-Hocus Pocus
-Casper
-The Goonies
-Little Monsters
-Urban Legend
-The Lost Boys
-Poltergeist
-Scream
-Thirteen Ghosts (a little gross but interesting)
-The Exorcist
-Nightmare on Elm Street
-Joy Ride
-Blade
-Rocky Horror Picture Show
-The Shining
-Alien
-Halloween
-Friday the 13th

My favorites are Halloween (the original, not that stupid Rob Zombie remake) and Scream.

The Haunting, 1963 version, still creeps me out.

The Legend of Hell House, creepy but loved the ending and the explanation of why Belasco was haunting the place.

I have to go with Scream -- not because it scares me but beacuse I just love that movie seris.

OP I love Signs!!! That's one of my favorite movies! I enjoy all the M Night movies really, but Signs and Sixth Sense are my favorites. :) I also really liked the Nightmare on Elm Street movies as a kid......

The new Paranormal Activity movie scared me a lot!!!!

It's funny how people see things differently. I don't mind classic slasher movies (love old zombie movies) but Sixth Sense was so horrible to me. I just can't fathom a mother poisoning her child, watching her suffer. That is real horror stuff. I consider a woman who would do that in the same way I would a child molester. The lowest scum on earth who needs to be eradicated.

Favorite horror movies The Shining, When a Stranger Calls (this freaked me out when I was a kid), Alien .

I have sevaral I like, but my absolute favorite is The Shining!

Just finished watching it about 30 minutes ago on AMC

Oh gosh, my fiance and I LOVE scary movies. I can't just pick a few, so here's my list that I watch around Halloween:

It
The Shining
Rocky Horror Picture Show (I know, I know, not scary - but still a Halloween movie :goodvibes)
The Exorcism of Emily Rose
The Hills Have Eyes (the new one, not the original)
The Ring
Poltergeist
Hostel
The Amityville Horror (the original AND the remake)
Night of the Living Dead
The Exorcist
Dead Silence
Reincarnation
