It's Going To Be A Jolly Olly Holiday In Disney PTR I've got one foot out the door!!

i am a little late to the party, but here nonetheless. great PTR so far! Your kiddos aer adorable!!!

your plans look great too- we arrive on the day you leave actually.

YOu will love AKL and POR. POR is our favorite mod. We just love the laid back atmosphere and theming. The food court is great and nothing like sitting on the rocking chairs outside of the food court and taking in the sites and just enjoying the view of the river. The pool is fantastic too. Are you requesting the alligator bayou area or the mansions side? we love AB and always got the building closest to the food court- i think 14 or 15. The pathways are beautiful, take some time to enjoy exploring!

AKL is great- I haven't stayed in the Villas, but i imagine they are even better than the regular lodge. The kids and adults will enjoy the balcony. DH is not a disney person, but we stayed at AKL on a business trip (funny how i managed to stay at disney on business, lol)----DH loved it and now only wants deluxe at disney. i am not going to argue. be sure and check out the nightly story teller over the fire out back and request the night vision goggles for nighttime viewing. Boma is fantastic as is the bar/lounge.

i am subbing to read more- i love reading about others going in Dec too.

are you guys doing MVMCP at all?

Thanks for joining and for the compliments! Your son is sooo cute! He has "pinchy" cheeks!!

The planning has consumed me! I really need to clean!

I think I am equally excited about both resorts...they both look gorgeous! We have to stay in AB because we need a trundle for 3 kids. I requested bldg 14. Fingers crossed!!! I definitely want to do some walking around there! Maybe rent one of the surrey bikes? DH says he won't get on one, but I'll see about changing his mind!

I can't wait for the balcony at AKL!! I have already figured in the story telling and night viewing for our schedule! LOL Obsessive planning! And, we were just going to do breakfast at Boma, but now I think we are going to do breakfast and dinner. it seems to get great reviews! I was thinking maybe we could put the kids in ine of the programs there at the resort and DH and I could also go to the lounge for a few drinks!!??

I went over and read / posted on your PTR! It is amazing to see how many different plans there are for the same time!

We are not going to do MVMCP...did it a couple of years ago.

OHHHH. . .scrapbooking! Now I'm all interested!

Get in on it!!!

Get in on it!!!
keep in mind the trundle at POR isn't all that great- at least it wasn't on our last trip, but should be fine for one of hte kids, especially your youngest. The bed is really small and the mattress is extremely thin, like what you might find on a cot or something. at least that is how i remember. i remember because we had 4 adults and a 2.5yo in a POR room and while we planned on the toddler sleeping on the trundle, she didn't go for it and my 250lb plus BIL slept there instead! lol- talk about sacrifice! :rotfl:

definitely try the glotini or the lava colada (pina colada with raspberry puree- also have this at the Poly) if ou have a drink at the lounge!

i am also an obsessive planner. way overboard, that's my personality anyhow, add disney in the mix and we are in trouble. we need a support group, don't we? :confused3;)

Hi, my name is Carla and I'm addicted to Disney World and over planning for my trips there. :lmao:

LOL We were actually thinking our DD (10) would sleep on the trundle. Do you think that will work? That way the boys could just share a bed.

The lava colada was on my list already! What is in the glotini? Is it just like a regular martini?

Yes...I'll start: My name is Erin and I obsessively plan Disney trips.
PTR readers: "Hello, Erin." :lmao:

I would gladly join a support group...that means more Dis talk :lmao:

Oh yes, than count me out! I'm just getting started being addicted...I'm not ready to give it up yet!

:rotfl: GMTA!! :thumbsup2 And I'm with you. I don't want to beat this addition.

Let me just say...my husband thinks I am the only person that buys all the supplies and has great intentions...but is just a little slow moving! I am so glad that there are others out there that (ahem) "take their time"!!! :rotfl2:
He just asked me this weekend, in fact if i planned on buying the 2009 Disney scrapbook while we are there. I replied with "of course." He said oh because we need another book to sit on a shelf in the celofane!! HA! It will get done before we have grandchildren!!!

I have all your ladies beat!! I have bought the scrapbooking supplies, went to a creative memories party, went to a crop fest ... ordered MORE supplies, and have a total of 3 pages done!!!! AND, my daughter is 11! (My son ... 18:scared1:)

I always have good intentions, but I've said after my daughter leaves elementary school (this is her last year) I won't be doing so much volunteer work - THEN I will really get going.:) Wait - Does this count? I've done the yearbook at my daughter's school for the last 6 years - digital layout with a different theme every year -that's kind of like scrapbooking - there just not my kids!

There should be a thread for people like us! So we get a little side tracked doing things like :laundy: and :happytv: and of course :surfweb:
:goodvibes

My DD is almost 6 1/2 and she has her first three and half years...DS is 19 months...he has about his first week of life! I think as long as they are done before they have kids we're in good shape!

Yes, my philospohy:thumbsup2

I'm going to be the first one to post a scrapbook page...yippee! It's not very fancy, but I don't really do "fancy"!

August2009031.jpg

I also have a bunch more posted over on my TR....so that I don't hoard yours!

This is a great page - Hey I don't do "fancy" either. It's great that you put in the personal notes.

I would gladly join a support group...that means more Dis talk :lmao:

:cool1:

I just found your trip report--love the kid's nicknames!--we'll be there at the same time, mostly :) I only read the first two pages but I'm subbing and I'll be back! :santa:

Hi there :hug: I've just read through your journal and everything sounds great :thumbsup2 Your family are beautiful and I'm sure they are going to love this trip!! Have you been to disney before during december? Are you going to do MVMCP?

I love the fact that you make doggie treats!! That's so cute! We love our furbaby and always do something to celebrate his birthday - we're dorks and proud of it  Your scrapbook pages are great, I wish I was good at stuff like that!! It's our first wedding anniversary coming up which is 'paper' so i'm gonna have to attempt to make something :scared1:

I'm glad you love the Ohana breakfast, we havent done this yet - Stitch is my fave character so it's a must do this trip!! :goodvibes

We havent stayed at Port Orleans but it looks like a very beautiful resort! We've stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge - not the villas though.

I know what you mean about trying to take a slower pace through the parks and be able to find different photo ops etc... Thats my plan for december - we always do the commando thing and I can't take it in the heat so I get ratty and just want to get into the nearest building that has air-con  So december is gonna be better weather for me I hope :yay: I really want to take time to stop and see things and take photos and find the characters

Your meal choices sound great!! Many of them will probably be similar to ours! I'm gonna try and decide on ours today.

Can't wait to hear more

Hi!! Thanks for coming over! We have been in December before. It is absolutely gorgeous! You will LOVE it! We did MVMCP last time, but probably won't this time??

Our dogs are like two more of our kids! What kind of dog do you have? We have a Chocolate Lab and a Boston Terrier. Those scrapbook pages aren't mine...they are another poster's...I don't want to take credit for her work. Shellywalker gets all the accolades for those pages!! :cheer2: You should try to make a scrapbook for him of your life together until this point! That would be sweet!

You will LOOOOOOOVE the Ohana breakfast!

AKL looks absolutely wonderful, as does POR. I will give a good review in my TR after I get back!

December will definitely not be nearly as hot for you as other months! It wass beautiful last time we were there then. You may even need a sweatshirt and pants at some points.

I can't wait for the food! It is soooo good and I have only 4 days until I can do my first set of ADR's...so I have to finalize some plans!

I keep saying that I will be putting up an update and never seem to get to it...so the kids go back to school tomorrow and I will be home all day alone. I am going to try to get at least one update done in between cleaning!! Fingers crossed! :thumbsup2

I'm glad that you love december and that its cooler too :woohoo: Sorry for the confusion over the scrapbooking pages - thats what happens when I get excited  I dont concentrate properly!!

We have a Golden Retriever named Spike, but we tend to call him Spikey unless he's been naughty :lmao: He'll be 3 in December, the day we return home - didnt want to miss his birthday!!! ;)

I can't wait to try Ohana - we have decided to go for breakfast & dinner, ( different days ) I'm desperately wanting to try one of those Lapu Lapu drinks :woohoo:

I think we've finally gathered together our ADR list, we can book them tomorrow :scared1: I'm at work though and the time zone difference too :sad2: So i'm keeping my fingers crossed that we can still get what we want when I get home from work tomorrow night. We are quite flexible on our time slots so I've just got to hope :cutie:

can't wait to read your updates

wow i missed alot!!! Man, yo ugo away from the dis for a weekend and next thing I know I'm so behind!

Still haven't started my scrapbook yet :)....and to answer your question, it will be of my last trip, and I will be making ones of my two upcoming trips. DBF and I have decided to make a scrapbook for every trip we go on, no matter how small or big!

That's great! Whenever you get to start / finish your scrapbooks, it is a great keepsake!

Yes...December seems perfect for us. Coming from the north, we are used to the cold and what seems too cold for a Floridian, feels GREAT to us!! :cool1: Don't worry about the confusion...I just didn't want to take the credit. :lmao: I have some focusing troubles when I am thinking Disney also!

Goldens are a lot like Labs. Our Lab's name is Bailey (he'll be 6 in October) and the Boston's name is Delilah (she'll be 2 in November). They are sooo different, but LOVE each other so much!

I have not tried the Ohana dinner, but hope to this trip. The Lapu Lapu drink is on my list as well!! :woohoo: (There are several drinks on my list!)

The more flexible you are with times, etc., the better your chances of gettingthe restaurants you want! Best of luck getting those ADR's tomorrow!

Is there a peak season in the Poconos? I would think you're coming up on it, Fall?

Is there a peak season in the Poconos? I would think you're coming up on it, Fall?

:headache: All year is peak for us. Fall brings a lot of people to look at the leaves...they don't have them in other states???? :confused3 Winter brings the skiiers...no mountains either anywhere else I guess??? :confused3 Summer brings the water park and amusement park people...again, we are the only place that has those ammenities???? :confused3 I guess I should be thankful to have the Spring to myself! LOL Sorry for the rant...I know that's what I get for living in a tourist trap, but I pay my taxes and feel I have the right to complain! :lmao: The residents of Orlando probably feel the same way about all of us!

This is probably true!

And here I am complaining about Memorial Day thru Labor Day and you've got an open window from March - May to enjoy your hometown. :scared1: Sorry :(
