It's Going To Be A Jolly Olly Holiday In Disney PTR I've got one foot out the door!!

This is probably true!

And here I am complaining about Memorial Day thru Labor Day and you've got an open window from March - May to enjoy your hometown. :scared1: Sorry :(

No need to be sorry! I choose to live here...just wanted to whine about it for a bit!! LOL I'm over it again! Back to Disney heaven!!!

OK...It has been too long since my last real update, so here goes:

Now, when I left off, I was going to tell you about all the little extras I wanted to fit in and how it was making me crazy trying to do so. Keep in mind, I was trying to do all of this and making myself crazy and the hours weren't even listed yet! Now, thanks to Madilynn'sMomma, I can cross reference my tentative itinerary with them before making my ADR's! Anyway...
Everything that I have worked out and strategized towards could be totally wiped out as soon as I really look things over! Oh well...I'm hoping that's not the case and my plan holds true for the most part.

So, back to the task at hand: the extras!!

1. Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique for Lulu - she and I will go one morning before MK opens and do this. Then J-Pa and the boys will meet us at either breakfast or at park opening. So, that one is easy to fit in. (Just has to be a MK day.) I was unsure about her doing this one again because of her age, but she asked, so I'm letting her.

2. Carriage ride - luckily they do this right at POR. So, I will fit it in during some of our down time at the resort.

3. Photopass photos - we do this every trip. But, this time I am going to try to get more. We never seem to get as many as we could possibly get. I want to try to get all of the special ones, especially the ones with the balloons! Also, I was thinking about getting Lulu in the ones in Expo Hall in MK after she gets her hair done. She isn't getting the whole dress and everything this time, but I read somewhere on here that you could still get some photos taken in there and added to your photopass. These don't take much time, so easy to fit in.

4. One thing I want to be sure to do is get some pictures of the kids on our AKV balcony with the sunset behind them. Another that's not really time consuming, just have to be there at sunset to do it. I have a vision of how the picture will look and hope to capture it!! LOL I just think it will make a beautiful photo.

5. POR campfire - this is a tough one. It only happens Thursday and Sunday from 6:30-8:00. So, I have to be able to be at POR at that time on one of those two days. I'm going to try! You can even buy the ingredients for s'mores for $7.

6. Santas and the like in Epcot - on our last Christmas trip, we missed all of them! Several of the countries in Epcot have Santa or their representation of him or storytellers. I want to try to catch several of them.

7. Characters in Flight - I need to do some more research on this. If anyone knows, please let me know! I don't know what the hours / prices are. I want to do it, though. I tihnk the view must be spectacular! But, if it is too much money for the five of us, we will probably skip it.

8. Resort exploration - we will be eating at several of the different resorts. So, while we are there for meals, I want to check things out - the Christmas decorations, views, entertainment, etc.

9. Boardwalk - I really just want to go here for an hour or so and walk around and get some night pictures if I can. It seems really pretty to just be outside there.

10. Yehaa Bob - another POR activity. The schedule for him vaires depending on where you look. His show is around 8:30, though. He plays piano and is supposed to be very entertaining. So, that may be a nice way to end a night.

11. Campfire at AKV - every night they have a big fire and rocking chairs out around it. There is also an African storyteller during the fire. It may be interesting to hear some African folktales. This is actually one of the things I'm most looking forward to.

12. Resort Photo Shoot - we are going to do this while at AKV and have that as our backdrop. We have not had a family photo done since Poot was about one year old. So, it's time and what better place to have it done??!! Plus, I will but the cd and be able to print some for Christmas gifts.

So, that's it. For now, at least! Let me know what you think and if you have any questions about any of these things please!

Love this! I'm hoping to do this with DD also! What an experience for a little girl!!

2. Carriage ride - luckily they do this right at POR. So, I will fit it in during some of our down time at the resort.
I wanted to do this when we were there in July, and I'm really thinking that I'll do it this time around with the kids! How special!

I feel the same way! But this time, I'm going to pre-purchase the CD so that I go out of my way to have them taken!

I love this idea too! Those will be gorgeous pictures!

I also love this! Maybe I'll just vacation with your family:rotfl:

6. Santas and the like in Epcot - on our last Christmas trip, we missed all of them! Several of the countries in Epcot have Santa or their representation of him or storytellers. I want to try to catch several of them.
I'm going to try super hard to do most of these too! I just wish I had like 20 days!

7. Characters in Flight - I need to do some more research on this. If anyone knows, please let me know! I don't know what the hours / prices are. I want to do it, though. I tihnk the view must be spectacular! But, if it is too much money for the five of us, we will probably skip it.

Agree with this too! We took the boat from Epcot to HS in July and went through the area by the Boardwalk and it's sooo pretty! I'm hoping to take the kids for a stroll through there!

Can you do this at any resort? When we originally had planned to stay at The Poly I was going to do this! Now we're staying at CBR and I'm not sure if I want a ton of photos taken there!

So, that's it. For now, at least! Let me know what you think and if you have any questions about any of these things please!

I saw all of them!!!!!!!! :woohoo::woohoo: Madilynn'sMomma posted a link on her PTR of the site where hours were listed for TA's!!! Check it out!!!

shellywalker- I think the only resorts that are participating in the resort photo shoot are Grand Floridian, Poly, Beach Club and AKL. Maybe SSR also??? There is another one...just not 100% sure which one?! Anyway, you don't have to be staying at that resort to do the photo shoot there. I am just waiting until we are at AKL to do it because it is convenient. ;) But, definitely check it out! Not a bad price! If you pre-purchase the regular photopass cd, you can get the whole photo session package for $70.00!! That is the 1/2 hour photo shoot, 7 5x7's and the cd of all the pix. You can decide what poses you what and take the direction of the photographer. Also, you can add time for $25. The average amount of pix taken looks to be around 75. i tihnk it's a good deal. I have a good photo printer at home. So, I'll print my own pix. If I went into J C Penney or something to get our pictures taken as a family it would cost $50 for us just to sit, let alone the price of the photo sheets! Plus, those are just your standard backgrounds.
And, yes....you can just come with us! By the way, did you hear if DH can definitely have the days off???

I can't find the hours. Help?? I found the hours for HS but not the others. Am I missing something?

:headache: All year is peak for us. Fall brings a lot of people to look at the leaves...they don't have them in other states???? :confused3 Winter brings the skiiers...no mountains either anywhere else I guess??? :confused3 Summer brings the water park and amusement park people...again, we are the only place that has those ammenities???? :confused3 I guess I should be thankful to have the Spring to myself! LOL Sorry for the rant...I know that's what I get for living in a tourist trap, but I pay my taxes and feel I have the right to complain! :lmao: The residents of Orlando probably feel the same way about all of us!

Really quick unrelated side note: My birthday is Dec. 22. One year DH treated me to a night in the city to see Wintuk (not anything like La Nouba, don't waste your time) and a nice birthday dinner. We stayed at a hotel in Time Square which was just so darn cool. I love Christmas and there is nothing like a NY Christmas. We were so sorry we ever decided to go into the city for a birthday celebration on Dec. 22. There were people EVERYWHERE!!! We barely got close enough to the tree to get a picture and even trying to get the dinner was a challenge. I kept saying "I hate these tourists, go home!!!" :lmao: Your story about tourists and how you feel when "outsiders" are there made me laugh and think about how silly we were to attempt NYC in Dec.

I've read all about your plans and I am super excited for you, and me:rotfl: as DH and I will be arriving the day after you. If you are a "Disney Stalker" like I am, I'm sure you've seen this. It was posted on a few different threads and from what I understand it is the Operating Hours that are released to the travel agents.
http://www.disneytravelagents.com/S.../pdf/ParkHours/WDW_Operating_Calendar_Dec.pdf

Happy planning!!!

I got them!!!! :woohoo: Thanks! I have my intinerary all planned out so I can make my ADR's on Thursday! I sooooo hope I get them!

HaHaHa! My DH's family lives in Staten Island and we go visit them around the holidays and usually take the ferry over to the city to see the tree! We were probably one of those tourists!! LOL See...I complain about it, but am one of them! It is just that it is overwhelming sometimes!! :scared1:

LOL! My brother lives in NYC and he says technically I am one too because I live outside the city. He says when you live there and all these people are there around the holidays it just gets frustrating. LOL so I'm one of them too!!

It's funny! He REALLY lives in a tourist area! I think NYC probably gets the most tourists out of anyone! We even go sometimes just to get Chinese food and that's it!! LOL Chinatown...Wo Hop!!!!!!!!!!!

We go to Hop Lee on Mott Street!!!! And I agree, it's worth a trip into Chinatown!!

Ours is Mott St also!!! Gotta love some good food and a bit of undercover shopping!! ;) Don't you love when you walk out of the subway station and you get bumbarded with people saying "Coach, Prada, Louis"!!! LOL It is great! I was actually just in the city in July...went to the Garden to see John Edward (the psychic)!!! It was so cool by the way! Anyway, we went over to Little Italy and that was good, too! I had never eaten there!
