It's getting pretty scarey here!!! (hurricane related)

I was told at about 11:35 that there was a $5.00 limit for gas starting at 12:00. Don't know if it was true or not but I went anyways. One large gas station is already empty and there were several more with lines coming out of every entrance. Traffic is so bad that it is getting horrific. As of 11:50 I still have no power at my house (2nd time in 5 days) and Ivan is just churning away!!

My boss has come around asking where we will be staying and getting phone numbers, it's getting to the point that panic will set in anytime for me.

When is the madness going to end!!!

Please everyone say a quick prayer for all of us here in Florida! Stay safe everyone!

Miami
Gas is quickly running out. No limits yet. You can tell everyone around you is worried. Traffic is really slow. Takes me an hour to get home from work. (usaual time 30min)

For sure there will be school closings.

Supermarkets ( publix) are running low on everything.

Home depot is too.

I know everyone is very worried. There is no sense in rushing or panic. Keep calm (somehow).

We made it through Andrew (92) we can make it through this one.

After everything is done thats when the real work starts the cleaning up.

And as for the gas limitations, that was a hoax but I needed gas anyway so I am good now!!

Is it suppost to hit Tampa? It's so hard to tell on the maps when they rarely have any city markers. It kindof looked between Tampa & the city where Charley hit.

Just on the news that it is all rumors about gas rationing and limiting sales. News here in Tampa Bay just said its all rumors that are going around. They wanted to highlight it they said becuase their radio station is getting so many calls on it. Funny how fast rumors can spread.

According to the latest tracking information from Eye of the Storm, it looks like they've revised Ivan's track and that the eye is going to stay west of Tampa. Having spent time in Florida in the past during a couple of hurricanes, I know that the wait to see where the storm will go can be the worst part. No matter how hard the weather people try, they still don't know for certain where storms will travel and how strong the winds will be.

So I hope that Ivan's winds die off and that the storm turns westward and stalls in the Gulf of Mexico, far from the coast of the US, Mexico, and Cuba.

I can not imagine what it is like to live in Florida with all that has been going on with these storms. I've been saying prayers for everyone and for Ivan to go out to sea and I just added another one for you. Stay safe.

PLEASE KEEP THEM COMING!! It is a very strong and dangerous storm, it has devasted Grenada. It will hit Jamaica later on today, full force, and I also pray for them too.

Every staion you watch and every website you look at has a slightly different track for any storm, I am just hoping for the best.

I am about 20-30 minutes from Clearwater, Indian Rocks and Madiera Beaches that tells you I am not to far from the Gulf, it's going to make for a rough ride even if it's not a direct hit!!!
