ITS COMING -Nov. 2014 Free Dining - waiting, watching, wishing & worrying thread

Has anyone added insurance? I like too have insurance but I'm not sure if Disney's is the way to go

I just received my invoice email. It does list the visa offer and it has the balance due. I didn't have to call.

Well after giving it a lot of thought and some serious number crunching I decided to call and change my check-in for my two rooms to 11/20 in order to take advantage of FD. With 6 adults and 2 kids that was just too much of a savings to pass up. The CM I spoke with never verified whether I actually had a Disney Visa or not, made the comment it would all come out in the wash so I didn't even have to put any more money down today. On a side note I never received an email either. Thanks to everyone that put this info out for so many of us.

Just out of curiosity... Is any one else not getting their balance info off the Disney site?

Just received my balence and conformation in email.. It didn't work yesterday must take 24hrs

The site is still not showing proper balance due, at least on my account, but I got the confirmation e-mail that shows my balance at 0.00 since I paid it off when I changed to Free Dining on Friday (had to, they needed a $200 payment on the Disney Visa)

Ok guys... whats your guess on if more resorts will be added to free dining (and if yes, when?). I know some people were wondering if POR or POFQ were going to be added and I was wondering about little mermaid rooms @ AOA. We are currently at the lion king suite because we adore AOA but its a little pricy and I would rather not switch to an all star or pop. I know its all a guessing game but so far everyone's guesses have been pretty spot on ;)

i would be amazed if they didn't open up some of the other hotels at a later date. it only makes sense. i feel they will wait to see what happens here and then in a few months open up more of the resorts to this offer. if i had a room booked at one of the hotels that historically is included but is not at this time i would not be changing it.
just my thoughts though, who knows. popcorn::

One can always hope that POR and POFQ will open up later...I'm one of them hoping so...that being said,a lot of the"in-the know" group don't think it will happen....I don't think so-unless the bookings for those resorts are WAAAY down...then it might just have a slim chance of happening.:confused3

I really missed out on a lot of insight with our last trip to WDS July 2013. Didn't know anything about the boards. This trip will be a totally different experience. Just found out about and added FD to my CSR BC reservation! :cheer2:

Sadly, at least for the time being, I think you are right. One of my contacts in the Port Orleans management team said that they will definitely not be included in the initial release, although things can be changed by Disney with very little notice as predicted occupancy levels fluctuate.

We moved resorts & a lot of other ppl did too. Sadly we just barely missed the FD bounce back last year and since DH & I are doing an adults only trip in addition to our usual vacation with kids we really needed to FD & had to change resorts.

I also changed my reservation from POR bec the free dining was too much of a savings to pass up. I was told by disney that POR is just so popular, that Disney had decided not to include it in free dining this year. I asked her about a lot of people changing our resort and that would probably open up a lot of rooms at POR and then maybe disney would reconsider. She stated that she was pretty sure that would not happen. At first.. I was pretty bummed. We love POR but I have some friends who have went to CBR and CSR and really enjoyed them both. I'm looking forward to trying a new resort and I'm sure I won't be disappointed. However, I feel bad for families of 5 bec there really isn't any other option. Maybe disney would at least consider opening up the free dining promotion at POR for families of 5. I kinda doubt it.... But maybe:confused3

I saw that FD was not available for Jersey week and have not been here since. A little sad, yes, but the trip is already paid for and I was only counting on FD as a happy bonus. I start making my dining ressies tomorrow morning!!

IF BY ANY CHANCE YOU HEAR OR KNOW THAT Nov 2 - Nov 7 somehow qualifies I'd love to hear it. :)

Thanks!!

If you can manage your check in for Nov 1st (the Saturday before Jersey week), you get FD for your whole trip up to 14 days. I am in a similar boat where I wanted my kids to be able to trick or treat with their friends back home on 10/31, wanted to go away to Disney for at least 7 nights, but didn't want to pull my 1st grader out of any extra school the week after Jersey week. So basically, my choices were Nov 1-8 or Nov 2-9. We went with 1-8, and luckily that worked for FD. If I would have done 2-9 or other dates, I'd probably try and move my flight if it wasn't too expensive, as FD for us is considerably worth more than a % resort (we don't stay deluxe and have 2 kids). Good luck!

Woohoo! Got my Visa yesterday via UPS Next Day and booked our trip last night. Checking in on Nov. 15.
