ITS COMING -Nov. 2014 Free Dining - waiting, watching, wishing & worrying thread

I have a doubt about this free dining promo.

It´s our 3rd time at Disney, but the first with free dining. I don´t have the Disney Visa card because I´m Brazilian.

We are staying at Disney from 11/15 to 11/24.

Is it possible to get the free dining from 11/15 to 11/20 and than get the regular rate from 11/20 to 11/24?

Thanks!

I called & was able to modify our reservation for Dec 14th - Dec 20th.

We are at CSR & had a bounce back offer before. However, the free dining is a even better offer & we saved another $100.

Thanks for the heads up that saved us some $$!

As long as you are booked in a participating resort you can get the promotion. I moved my reservation this morning to arrive on 11/20 and I'm getting the discount for the entire length of my trip.

The general public offer is available on 5/7.

You should take your complaints up about the emails with Chase since that's who is responsible for sending them out. I didn't post the nose comment in the other thread, but certainly agreed with it. If venting to a booking CM that has nothing to do with your irritation makes you feel better then more power to ya :thumbsup2 But floating around looking for reasons to be annoyed and calling in about discounts that you don't even plan on using makes about as much sense as a poopy flavored lollipop.

My vent to the CM had to do with WDW matters. Nothing to do with visa or free dining.

No nose cut off here.

I don't need a reason that you approve of to call Disney.

I don't know about any of you... But I am exhausted. I'm so glad this free dining issue worked out today. I want to thank everyone for the heads up about the promotion. I'm a DV holder and I still never got the free dining email. The free dining promotion isn't even posted on the visa website yet. I do see the room only discount though. However, I never got an email for that either. If it wasnt for this thread, I may have lost out on a great deal. Even though I got disconnected, couldn't get back through to disney.. It a finally worked out. Free dining for November. Saved over $2,000. Definitely all worth it!!! Thanks again. I hope everyone is as lucky when it's available to the general public and everyone have a great disney vacation:laughing::lovestruc:banana:

We shouldn't have to rely on rogue (non-DU) TAs posting here anonymously to get info for a card that we're paying for the rewards for. I don't care about an email either but it should be boldly visible for everyone with a card to see on the DV rewards page. There might actually be a "reward" that I'd like to spend my points on some day. It would be nice to know that we're being notified of what discounts we have as cardmembers. I'm here anyway so I know about this but... .

I totally agree. I've had the Visa since day 1 and have never got an email. I've called and gave it to them multiple times.

If I didn't scour the internet looking for information then I would never know about it either.

Of course I share what I learn here in one place. It starts small and grows as I learn more. I'm not a TA and I have NO inside information. Everything I post comes from various places on the net.

Even though I share it all in one place, it's disheartening to still hear complaints.

I don't have to share anything I learn of course,...that's always an option.

Hey Guys-- not sure if this will help anyone on this thread.. but wanted to let you know, my DH did get the VISA email today. He got it about 40 minutes before my Disney TA.. which is kind of crazy when you think about it.

He got the email at 2:07 pm EST.

good luck to everyone!

But really thinking about it, why should it really be that way?

I get some emails from them with offers. Last week I got one that said that some big offer was coming and did I want to transfer my points to a rewards card so I could be prepared to use them. The only offer I've gotten this week is the one for advanced Aladdin tickets though. VISA rep said that emails weren't sent out yet because the offer doesn't start until the 7th which we know is incorrect. Then he said that the email comes from Disney but that the offer that starts on the 7th is for cardmembers only. Okaaay.

So I get emails but I didn't get this one.

I am disappointed that we got the DV for this reason, to be notified. I spend a lot of time reading the boards but I don't enjoy the stress involved with reading some of the threads when something new is coming out.

Edited to add: Do you have an online account? I'm always getting emails saying "Thank you for your payment" etc. Maybe that's one reason I'm on their email list. I just don't get every email apparently.

I get the emails from Disney Visa but usually after I heard about it here. The emails show up in the afternoon and the website is usually updated around a day or two after the deal is effective.

So how did everyone do? Making an advance reservation as usual was the way to go for us. We got everything we wanted and I was so excited I even booked an extra day. I was going to surprise my partner with that when we arrived but I'm thinking he'll appreciate the chance to plan his work schedule around that little twist. Lol.

I called at exactly 7am and was on hold for an hour and a half! I got to work and had to hang up! I tried again at lunch and got through after only 30 minutes.

This year was complicated since I was juggling not just ours but also both our parents' reservations. It's a good thing I found out how to link them from these forums [thank you DIS!]. The Disney cast member had all three in front of him when we connected. I hadn't originally booked with my visa card so I had shell out $600 in order to get it to work. ($200 for each reservation) That was a hard pill to swallow. The cast member suggested next time I should book with the Disney visa and I wouldn't have to do that.

Thank you for sharing! Thank you very much for all the hard work that you still get complaints about. I'm glad you've been helping us all with our vacations!!!!!

also, I got a Disney Visa less than a year ago and I got the email this afternoon at 2:09, just for those keeping track at home :)

I feel your pain we were on hold that long too I had to work so I had to conference call my mother on the line so she could sit and be on hold since I got through after 40 min of dialing... Ohh the lengths we go to for Disney! Lol

Just out of curiosity... Is any one else not getting their balance info off the Disney site?
