OK, it's been too long since our last Disney trip and we are going again next year Aug 2008. Our last trip was 3 years ago, or so.... So I have to figure out what's new and what should go on the "must do" list!

I know August will be a hot time of year but we are also going to watch the Space shuttle launch in FL too...:thumbsup2 so that pretty much determines our timing.

I feel a bit overwhelmed with how much there is to read and to know. I guess I came to da right place!

I love princess parties and every time I go to DW I get inspired to fancy-up (is that a word? nah!) my own parties. My link below shows some of the things I have done.

I can't wait to see the Pirates of the Caribbean pirate: also!!

At least you didn't wait as long as I did between vists - 19 years!

I went in 1981 and stayed at the "Old Dutch Inn" (it's no longer there) at Lake Buena Vista. They were constructing Epcot at the time. I was single and just getting on with living.

In 2000 my sister, who is a TA, booked a long week-end for me and my DS who was 10 at the time. We stayed as CBR and had a great time. We didn't go again until '04 and then I joined the DIS. In '06 we decided to do a land and sea package. This summer we were Europe so we took my cousin's granddaughter to Disneyland - Paris.

Now my DS has requested another land/sea package in '08 for graduation and my cousin and I are planning a magical gathering for everyone in '09.

:dance3: :woohoo:

There are always new attractions, etc., but it is always great.

The DIS board will supply you with lots of information and don't be too shy to ask questions.

Wow 19 years is a long time! How did you survive? :)

We are also considering a land and sea package next year but we'll see if that works with the sliding NASA launch dates. How do you account for members of your reunion party who are prone to sea sickness? :scared:

We have done reunions at WDW in the past. They seem to give you special attention if they know you are there for a reunion. We made our own reunion logo and made t-shirts for everyone in bright colors. So much easier to find each other in a crowd or going on a ride as a group. Each family would come up with a certain color shirt for everyone and for each day of the week we would coordinate and wear a certain color.

So your DS is requesting a graduation trip to DW? Seem to be a popular destination for the highschool kids in our town. The traditional end-of-year trip is to WDW and everyone saves up for it.

Our family magical gathering won't be until '09 and it is strictly a land package. The original idea was for my cousin to take her granddaughter and I was going to take my grand-niece but we decided to include everyone. If you want to hear a hoot - my niece said that if her husband doesn't go she is going to ask her mom to come.

I don't any problems with her mom but she is my ex-SIL and my brother may be joining us. Plus I want to spend time with my grand-niece and if her mother goes she'll intrude on that one. So I keep praying that the 2 interlude will make that not happen!

Oh my! That could get tricky if that did happen! I will keep my fingers crossed for you! A lot can change in two years so I wouldn't worry about it.

Well, at least you have time on your hands and you will be able to plan all the minute details for your magical gathering. I am sure it will be a great experience for everyone. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the tip on "magical gathering". That is a term I am not familiar with.... ayyyy ... more to read....! :surfweb:
