New to the boards. Been a lurker until now. Received my winner's email yesterday. My family is beyond excited. We hope to be able to go in September.

I can't remember the official rules for this contest but I read the rules on the WW one and it did say that you cannot claim the extra value if you choose to not bring 4. In that situation I would consider either asking a favorite grandparent/aunt/uncle/cousin OR possibly letting my child bring a friend. My 8 year old was talking today about how one of her friends is at Disney this week and how cool would it be if we went there and saw her Obviously you would have to know the other child's parents well enough for them to trust you leaving the state with their child but in the right circumstances it could be a pretty awesome memory

Makes sense. Thanks. I guess it would be my mom, she actually hinted she was sad she wasn't with us when we went last year. She might drive my husband crazy though- hell, me too ha ha. Three adults in one room, with one kid? And the haphazard, disorganized way my mom is? I get it from somewhere- he'd have to share a room with both of us ha ha.

It would be cool if a regular poster or someone who's been posting on this thread the whole time was a winner! It always seems to be newbies - but more the merrier! I think I found the disboards when I was entering the one-a-day last year. Or was it reading up on all the Anna/Elsa wait times rumors? ha ha! Can hardly remember.

You know I'm still not sure that the rules exclude something extra like tickets or extra nights if you aren't traveling with 4. I take the quote from the rules to mean you don't get the cash value for anything less than 4 plane tickets, 4 people per room, and tickets for 4. But I could be wrong about the WW prize but last year for the Disney contest people did report getting extra nights and tickets. One of us just has to win soon and we can find out

Yes, you are right about last year's winners. One of the winners was a couple with no dc. They only needed two airfares and two park tickets so they were gifted with four extra nights at the GF. I believe my aunt said they even received a CL upgrade once they arrived!!

In my aunt's case, she could not use two of the airfares since everyone has to fly out of the same airport. My dd's were her 3rd and 4th guest but we live too far apart to fly together. So we paid for their airfares OOP and she was given two additional nights at GF.

It wouldn't be that hard for Betty, or anyone else at the sweepstakes company, to figure out really. Several of the winners are new DisBoards members since googling after the won. So the sweepstakes company people might Google the contest as well. Park Hopping Goddess posted when she got the Betty email and I asked her which date she'd won for since it's put on the email. She shared that with us. It would be easy for the sweepstakes company to figure out which winners post here and what their Dis screen name is!
