Made most of our ADRs last night and got pretty much the times and places we wanted. DH is a tough one to please in the first place so I made sure that he got the one restaurant he asked for TWICE: Biergarten! We are eating there for lunch one day and dinner our last night. Anything to please the guy who finally said yes to going at all

Our Starbucks don't serve pizza! Thank God! I might actually buy food there too! Ever since they started the law where they have to post the calorie counts in foods, I think four times about buying that lemon loaf I used to love!

Is this a Sydney thing? I haven't been in a Starbucks in Melbourne in ages...but last time I was there, they didn't have any pizza.

It is a 'new' thing. For the past few months Starbucks in Australia has been experimenting adding to the menu. Adding more savoury items. I first spotted these at my 'local' which is right near my office. I never tried it until DBF was here though when we popped up to the landmark one in Sydney which was near where we were staying for a morning chai. Thinking we would get a cinnamon scroll or similar he spotted those and bam....we had pizzas

So I replicated the order today

The BIGGEST menu range I have ever seen was in Hong Kong. It was AMAZING. Mostly sweeter things I guess...but....awesome...
My biggest complaint is cost. For what are more mass produced products the costs are astounding. The macaroons are $2.95 while the renowned Baroque ones are $2.50. A Lamington is over $3 and VERY small...
Anyway...
Still love the coffee and chai latte
And no....I don't want to know the calorie count of a grande chai with full cream milk

After I went to Starbucks I went to Cupcakes on Pitt. Love this place. It was one of the first to be 'on the case' in the cupcake craze. And I still think one of the best. As they actually flavour some of the cakes beyond the icing on vanilla or chocolate.
Hadn't been in ages...but they were next to where we were staying so DBF went there to retrieve breakfast one morning

This is what we got that morning...

On this day I got Lemon Meringue (which has lemon infused in the cake) and Passionfruit...

Seems like despite the Dis server upgrade, we're still having problems. Do we think it is even worse than before?

That's usually what a server upgrade results in...

The lemon meringue cupcake was impressive. Hadn't seen it before. But for $$ reasons and calorie I'm going to leave it as a treat.......
Although these guys have got a place in my office street now.....darn it......

I love Phantom and have decided not to go see Love Never Dies... for now. The reviews haven't been great and it apparently doesn't stack up against the original.

I still remember the original - I saw it in London - and the movie was pretty good as well. I figure that with it still pretty romanticised in my memory, I'd leave that alone.

The Melbourne season is drawing to a close so I guess I'm not going to make it this time round.

Enjoy the Sydney season.

Queenie - You made my morning!!! Those cupcakes look amazing and the pizza has things I love on it! I think they are going to start trying similar pizzas here too! And one of my favorite things to do is sit and sip coffee and people-watch too.

I had a year off between official retirement and taking my current job while I cleaned up our house and tried to sell it (no luck and we're renovating whole first floor now). That year "off" I would go out and treat myself to coffee while reading magazines at a bookstore once a week. It was great fun and I would talk to the regulars.

OMG! That cat video is so funny! I sent the link to DH and DS! Even the chair is cute in it! We have had cats for 39 years and our current cat has long fur like that one's length but not the color.

Oh well! Off to do more posts in Games and then to do some work (WORK????)

Now that they closed borders we dont have bookstores to sit and have coffee and look at books.

Not sure about starbucks and pizza so much turmoil here just over mcdonalds and fatty foods. The Mcdonalds in Sanfrancisco is not allowed to give out toys in the happy meals anymore, do it deters kids from wanting them.

Cupcakes look good glad I dont live there. I think the fad where we are is dying.

I wonder if they trained that cat to do that. Was that fish next to him? He is lazy.

I need my coffee this morning.
